Qin Haodong thought nothing of these gangsters. He let them run away and then he took Ouyang Shanshan back to their room.
“Are you ok? Are you scared?”
He asked with concern.
“I’m not scared because I know you would come and save me.”
Ouyang Shanshan sighed and said, “I just don’t like being recognized wherever I go. It’s so annoying.”
“You don’t like it? Many people like to be popular. Some stars even deliberately create rumors for the paparazzi to follow up.”
Ouyang Shanshan said, “I don’t like it. I hate it. Although I’m in the show business, I don’t like being recognized everywhere. It’s like being a thief and I’m afraid of being recognized all the time.
“Living like an ordinary person is my dream. I want to walk unscrupulously under the sunshine and enjoy a quiet life. Unfortunately, this dream is getting farther and farther away from me.”
Qin Haodong said, “I can help you with this.”
Ouyang Shanshan asked in surprise, “What did you say?”
“I said I could help you realize your dream.”
Qin Haodong said as he stepped closer to her, “Close your eyes and your dream will come true soon.”
Although she didn’t know what he was going to do, Ouyang Shanshan still closed her eyes obediently.
Qin Haodong used an incantation to perform magic on her face. Then he took out the small mirror from her bag and said, “Okay, you can open your eyes and look now.”
Ouyang Shanshan opened her eyes and saw a strange face in the mirror. The face was beautiful but inferior to her own and had no resemblance to her own.
“Who… who is this?”
She could not believe her eyes.
Qin Haodong laughed and replied, “Of course it’s you.”
Ouyang Shanshan’s face was full of disbelief. She blinked in front of the mirror and stuck out her tongue and only then was she be sure that the person in the mirror was really her.
She put her arms around Qin Haodong’s neck and asked curiously, “Haodong, how did you manage to do that?”
“Nothing, it’s just a little trick to deceive people.” Qin Haodong laughed and said, “Now you can walk under the sun and no one will recognize you as a superstar.”
“Great, my dream finally came true.”
Ouyang Shanshan jumped excitedly and threw away her mask and sunglasses, as well as her coat. She held Qin Haodong’s hand and walked out in a hurry.
Qin Haodong said, “Why are you in such a hurry? You haven’t even eaten anything yet.”
“No, let’s go to the food street.” Ouyang Shanshan said excitedly, “When I was in college, I liked to go to the food street the most. The food there is the tastiest in the world.”
“It’s a pity that I can’t eat street food any more after becoming a star. I haven’t eaten there since a long time. So, I must have a big meal today.”
There was a food street not far from the western restaurant and the two of them soon reached there.
Ouyang Shanshan was as excited as a child while holding Qin Haodong’s hand as she ate from one side to another. She tasted everything, including the smelly tofu, kebabs, and cold spicy noodles.
Qin Haodong laughed and asked, “Aren’t you afraid that you will put on weight after eating so much?”
Ouyang Shanshan replied, “Whatever, nothing is important in face of the delicious food. It’s a pity that my stomach is too small and I’m full already.”
Qin Haodong said, “Let’s have a walk when you’re full. It’s good for your stomach.”
“Okay, let’s go shopping.”
The two of them were walking on the street, hand in hand, just like an ordinary couple.
Ouyang Shanshan was still full of excitement and she released a long sigh and said, “I feel so good. Even the air smells of freedom. It would be great if it could go on like this forever.”
Qin Haodong said, “Aren’t you worried that I’ll make you look like this forever, and you won’t be a super star anymore?”
Ouyang Shanshan replied, “Not at all. If that’s the case then I can stick with you forever.”
Even heroes fall for beauties. Qin Haodong couldn’t bear to look at her tender eyes. He took out a jade pendant from his pocket and said, “This is for you. Let it accompany you for me.”
Ouyang Shanshan took the jade pendant and looked at it. It was engraved with something that looked like a tortoise.
She smiled and said, “It’s so ugly and not nearly as handsome as you.”
Qin Haodong said, “Don’t look down on this thing. It can protect you so you must wear it.”
This jade pendant was exactly the same as the one that he gave to Kim Jihyun. It was engraved with a defensive spell that could resist the attacks of masters with supreme power.
“I like everything you give me, whatever it may be.”
Ouyang Shanshan said as she put on the Black Tortoise Jade Pendant.
The two of them walked around the street for a long time. Time always flies when you are having fun. Before they knew it, it was already past midnight.
Qin Haodong said, “You’d better go back now. You have to catch a plane tomorrow.”
Ouyang Shanshan answered with reluctance, “But I want to stay with you for a little longer.”
“We’ll have a chance in the future. It will soon be dawn if we continue walking.”
“Will there really be another chance in the future?”
Ouyang Shanshan looked at him with burning eyes and asked.
“There should be one!”
Qin Haodong was also not sure about it.
“Well, take me back to the hotel.”
The two strolled back to the hotel where Ouyang Shanshan lived. Qin Haodong removed the magic on her face and sent her back to her room.
“Have a good rest. I gotta go.”
Just as he was about to leave, Ouyang Shanshan suddenly reached out and wrapped her arms around his neck. She asked softly, “Can you stay with me tonight?”
Qin Haodong slowly pulled her arms away and kissed her forehead gently and replied, “This is not fair to you and you will regret it in the future.”
Ouyang Shanshan said, “I won’t regret it. I’m willing to give you my everything.”
“Even if you don’t regret it now then it doesn’t mean that you won’t regret it in the future.”
Qin Haodong pushed her down on the bed and said softly, “Go to sleep. It’s almost dawn.”
Then he left the room and closed the door. He shook his head slightly and strode out of the hotel.
When the door closed, Ouyang Shanshan’s heart sank to the bottom. It seemed that she was destined to not have him.
She sat at the bedside for a long time. Suddenly, there was the sound of the door being opened.
“Haodong, are you back again?”
Ouyang Shanshan was overjoyed thinking that Qin Haodong had changed his mind. She stood up and rushed to the door.
Before she could see the person outside the door, her mouth was covered by a big hand. Then a pungent smell attacked her nostrils and she passed out.
Qin Haodong had left the hotel and returned to the restaurant, Violet, to get his own car. When he started driving back, the sky had already begun to turn bright and the sun was about to rise.
Not long after, he suddenly received a call from a strange number.
He frowned and pressed the answer button. A ferocious voice sounded out from the other side, “Boy, the superstar is in our hands.”
Qin Haodong pressed on the brakes immediately and pulled over at the side. He asked, “Who are you?”
“You b*stard! You just hit me and now you ask me who I am? I am your master Segou!” Segou roared angrily. “You b*tch couple! I’ve been waiting for you at the hotel for the whole night and now I finally got the superstar.”
“What do you want?” Qin Haodong asked coldly.
Although he just turned her down, he would never allow her to be hurt.
Segou answered, “Young man, do you think you can get away with it? Prepare 30 million yuan for me as soon as possible or I’ll take naked photos of the superstar.”
Qin Haodong said, “30 million yuan is too much. Can you reduce it a little?”
30 million was not a big number to him now, but he didn’t want to accept it too readily or that he would arouse the suspicion of the other party.
Segou cried, “Don’t talk nonsense. I’ve already heard that you own Lin’s Jewelry. You have money to hook up with a star, so how come you don’t have the money to compensate us. 30 million yuan and not a cent less, or I’ll sell naked photos of the superstar to the paparazzi. ”
Qin Haodong said, “Well, tell me where you are and I’ll bring you the money.”
“Go towards South City. I will call you again after you have left the urban area.” Segou said fiercely, “You better be quick or I don’t know what my brothers will do to the superstar.”
Qin Haodong said with a cold voice, “Mark my words. I can give you the money, but if you dare to touch even a strand of hair on her, I will make your life a living hell.”
Although they didn’t have a face-to-face conversation, Segou still felt a chill down the spine which made him tremble.
“Boy, do you think I will be scared? Don’t call the police or you’ll be waiting to collect the superstar’s body.”
After throwing a few hard words with difficulty, he hung up the phone in a hurry.
Qin Haodong made a U-turn and drove straight towards South City.
It was early morning and there were very few vehicles on the road. He drove the Mercedes with the utmost speed and it took him less than ten minutes to get out of the South City of Shanghai.
The other party seemed to be keeping track of his movements at all times. As soon as he drove out of the urban area, he received a call from Segou. According to the instructions he received, he drove to a hill about 60 kilometers away from the city center.
It was more like a small hill than a mountain although the GPS indicated that this place was called Bun Mountain.
The Bun Mountain was barren and not even a blade of grass grew. There was green pastures and lush trees just at the foot of the mountain.
After parking the car, a flash of doubt arose in his heart. “Isn’t it just extortion of money? Why would they choose such a remote place?”
At the top of the mountain, Ouyang Shanshan’s mouth was stuffed with a towel and she was tied to a chair as an electronic screen shone on her chest. It was a time bomb.
