Was she overthinking it, or had that woman suggested something highly inappropriate?
Miya had obviously not expected to talk to someone else other then Sheng Yize . She replied to An Xiaxia with an ellipsis and removed Sheng Yize from her friends list within 20 seconds .
An Xiaxia didn’t know whether to laugh or cry . What was the point? The chat history would still be there even if they were no longer friends!
Moreover, unfriending Sheng Yize would only incriminate her further!
An Xiaxia was so frustrated that she began to scratch the surface of the table . She decided to get to the bottom of this after Sheng Yize got back!
Sheng Yize returned not long after that, but he didn’t seem to be in a great mood .
“What’s wrong?” An Xiaxia asked anxiously .
“Some people are just ridiculous . ” Sheng Yize sighed . The project was by no means a must-have for Shengshi, but the other company acted as if they were Shengshi’s lifeline, which prompted them to set tougher and tougher terms . The attitude they showed was repulsive .
Jiang walked in with a frown . “Mr . Sheng, I’ve sent them away as instructed . ”
“Alright,” replied Sheng Yize indifferently . Jiang couldn’t help but remark, “They were a little outrageous, but… if not them, the only other party that’ll meet the requirements for our new project is Xinyue Group . But I remembered you mentioned once that…”
“Is Xinyue the one that started out as an online retail business?” An Xiaxia interjected, and Jiang nodded . “Yes, Ma’am . ”
An Xiaxia was conflicted . Should she tell Sheng Yize about the conversation she had with Miya just then?
Before she could say anything, Tong Yan rushed into the office in a flurry . “Mr . Sheng, the president of Xinyue is here . ”
Sheng Yize arched his eyebrow and a stern look flashed across his face .
“I’ll go have a look . ” That was directed at An Xiaxia . After that, he left, followed by Jiang and Tong Yan .
After some thought, An Xiaxia decided to play the bystander and watch the fun .
The reception room .
Miya was holding a glass of water . She asked hastily as soon as Sheng Yize walked in, “Mr . Sheng, have you made up your mind on the collaboration?”
He had just sent the other company away and Xinyue was already on their doorstep?
He didn’t believe in such a coincidence .
“I’m intrigued, but I don’t think Xinyue has shown enough sincerity . ” Sheng Yize smiled a little .
He was exceptionally good-looking to begin with, and that smile only accentuated his handsome features . Even someone like Miya, who was known for her haughtiness, was almost mesmerized .
Eyes flickering, she smiled . “I’ll prove it to Mr . Sheng . ”
She then took out a room card and put it in Sheng Yize’s hand .
Sheng Yize’s face darkened .
Jiang couldn’t watch anymore . Clearing his throat, he said, “Miss Miya, if you need a room to talk in private, Shengshi has its affiliated restaurant and hotel . You don’t have to go through all that trouble . ”
Miya ignored him and kept her intense gaze on Sheng Yize . “I believe it’ll be a win-win situation for both of us . ”
He would have the project and she the man .
“Heh…” Sheng Yize rested his forehead in his hand and chuckled . With the other hand, he played with the room card, the look on his face amused .
Outside the door .
Tong Yan was trying to console An Xiaxia . “Gosh, I told you not to come! You just won’t listen!”
“Well…” She was so curious… Moreover, she would miss all the fun if she didn’t come!
Women were still throwing themselves at Sheng Yize after all these years…
“If you ask me, Miya is prettier than you . Plus, she’s got better assets . ” Tong Yan gestured with his lips . An Xiaxia followed his eyes and looked down at her chest, feeling somewhat hurt .
