Af-ter-wurd (Carefree tone)
Every time it’s the afterword that always worries me. Because most afterword are written after finishing the main story, when you are in a state of collapse you’ll get a notice saying, “Sorry to trouble you, but please write an afterword!”
Of course, in the first volume, there's a ton of things to talk about, but if the start dash is successful and three volumes are reached, the threshold somehow becomes much higher. Yes, we’ve reached three volumes, three volumes! But since there is a lot I can’t spoil here, I’ve decided to talk about the creative process of the third volume.
The basic concept of the third volume is a Fairy Tale & Great Escape. It can also be described as Alice in Wonderland & Escape from Alcatraz Island. What is with that devilish combination?
The focus of this volume is the confrontation against the White Queen, who first appeared in the previous volume, and the painful truth that Tokisaki Kurumi has to face.
Of course, because it is a ???, shouldn’t it be impossible to use <???>? That mystery remains as well as the mystery of who she is in the first place. It can be said that in DAB, (this abbreviation doesn’t feel quite right) unveiling more than half of the mystery of Tokisaki Kurumi will be a huge leap forward.
However, the more I write, the more I feel for how fantastic the character of Tokisaki Kurumi is.
Black hair, calm, a good figure……elements that can easily make for a popular character. A Gunslinger……likely another one of her popular features. A clock piece on her left eye……it probably gives a sharp feeling of being pierced by thorns when blinking. However, as many will know, readers of Date A Live regard Tokisaki Kurumi as cute.
Yes, that’s right. No matter how cruel, ruthless, or villainous, the character still gives the impression of being cute and cool. Higashide thinks that it is due to the charm Tachibana-sensei has accumulated in Date A Live.
After all, I think this series will focus on how far this charm can go……but, I never imagined……that this time she would be a little girl……
However, Kurumi who was become a young girl (the design by NOCO-sensei is too dangerous) is really cute. It’s no wonder that it would cause Hibiki to do something that would be criminalized. In this work, in addition to 7 years old, she also changed into the various ages of 10
years old, 11 years old, and finally ?? years old. Please look forward to it!
Now let’s leave the discussion of DAB so I don’t accidentally spoil something. The main story of Date A Live, which was released just a month ago, just had a dramatic development as the story reaches the climax.
How will the situation develop as Shidou and the others are forced into a desperate corner!? The point of that line is to get you to return to the original source material??in Light Novels and
Manga, ‘arrival from a point different than the source’ is a common technique. It’s not always easy to return back to the source!
I’ll do my best to inherit the writing of Date A Bullet while trying to make it funny and interesting!
