Chapter 7 ♦ Accepting the pull of fate

She dozed off for a moment, and after waking up, the colour of the sky had already begun to turn white. The stars slowly disappeared.
But Lugh’s chains (Catena), who fell into the ocean, still shone on the other end of the horizon.
“Um, would it have disappeared? I wonder what the nearby ships would think if they saw it.”
Lydia was merely talking to herself, but Kelpie’s response was heard by her side quite quickly.
“Other humans can’t see that. Only someone holding something of the fairy kingdom can see it. You’re holding the key to the fairy kingdom, right? The string that connects Lyonesse and the fairy kingdom is made from magic, and because the fairy’s crystallized blood had been absorbed, it shines. It probably won’t disappear for a while.”
If that was the case, whether it was Edgar, Ulysses, or everyone on the ship, they could all see it.
Lydia used her fingers to softly trace the shape of the serpentine bracelet on her wrist. On top, there was an image of a lion, as well as peridots decorated in the form of a four-leaf clover. The key left Catena’s hands when she died, and returned to Lydia’s side.
As Lydia was captured by Kelpie, she was temporarily unable to leave for the fairy kingdom right away, and could only look down at the sea from an isolated island.
Lydia sat on a tall haystack, and Kelpie sat down beside her. The place that he brought Lydia to was likely an uninhabited island that was a part of the Isles of Scilly.
“For now, you should eat a little first. You’re hungry, right?”
Kelpie handed Lydia bread that was wrapped in paper. After he left her on the island, he seemed to have gone to a nearby island. It was still quite warm, and was probably bread that came fresh out of the oven this morning.
“You’ve paid properly, right?”
“Ahh, I left the copper coins you gave me there.”
“Thank you.”
At any rate, she couldn’t think about what’s to come with an empty stomach. Lydia bit into the bread.
Now, Kelpie ought to be confused about what to do next. He was under the circumstances of being controlled by Edgar, but he was acting very close to not handing Lydia over to him.
“Hey, Kelpie, do you think that Edgar has already become the Prince?”
Kelpie was somewhat worried for a moment, then replied.
“At least, I can’t see that he is thinking about you.”
It was the same for Lydia, as she couldn’t figure out Edgar’s true intentions.
She was always hoping that he was planning to destroy the organization while acting as the Prince, their ruler, but perhaps that was not the case. It seemed that he was seriously attempting to stop Lydia and the others from reaching the fairy kingdom.
Through the battle with the Prince, who had taken control of another body, Edgar had probably found out everything about the Prince. Lydia wasn’t able to imagine what Edgar, who received those memories, was feeling, and how he was going to guard his own mind.
It was as Ulysses said, he has been fighting incessantly all along. With regards to Edgar, who got caught up in this kind of situation, Lydia wasn’t able to help him at all. His heart would grow cold and perhaps it was something that couldn’t be helped.
But for Lydia, there was something that was certain.
That is, the Prince not being able to become Edgar.
She thought that after seeing Ulysses’ body. The current Ulysses was a completely different person from that black-haired teenager. Even though he had been living in a body that had been replaced and possessing his past memories, Lydia believed that the reason why Ulysses completely lacked emotion for his former body was because he had already become another person.
Thus, the Prince couldn’t manipulate Edgar at will. Although those memories and powers might bring about an enormous influence, the Prince has been a dead person for a long time, and Edgar is still alive.
Regardless of what he thought of Lydia now, even if he had already lost the love from before, as long as she could still rescue him from the Prince, then Lydia intended on continuing onwards.
For this reason, she first had to escape from Kelpie. However, this place was an uninhabited island. This island wasn’t a part of the Lyonesse mainland; perhaps it had already existed before Lyonesse sunk.
If she was able to think of a way to return to the dryland of Lyonesse, could she walk to the island where Lota and the others were located via the land route, but how could she leave this place?
Just as Lydia was pondering, a boat floating under the shade of the rocks wandered into her view.
The boat was tied up with something similar to a fishing line. It was a fisherman who had come from a nearby island.
Lydia lightly stood up.
“Hey, where are you going?”
“You mustn’t ask a lady that sort of thing.”
It appeared that Kelpie sensed the meaning behind her words, which was seemingly quite rare. After leaving him, Lydia did her utmost to sneak into the dense underbrush and move towards the coastal side.
Underneath the shade of the rock, there was a boat moored there as expected. There were two men fishing by the cliff.
Lydia approached that side. Those fishermen were probably father and son.
“Um, pardon me. May I ask if you can bring me to the town?”
She inquired, and the two men looked over, startled.
“You, are you a Selkie? Or a mermaid?”
They probably didn’t believe that an uninhabited island would have someone, much less a woman.
“No, I am human.”
“How could a young girl be in this kind of place?”
“......That’s because......”
“Aha, you’ve been confused by the fairies, right?”
This region seems to still have many people that believe in the existence of fairies.
Lydia hesitated, but they appeared to have already understood and told her to get on the boat.
They put away their fishing tackles very quickly, and began to row the boat. Sitting on the boat, which was gradually getting farther away from the uninhabited island, Lydia clasped both hands as if she was praying.
I’m sorry, Kelpie. However, I must go.
What couldn’t be seen on the boat ought to have been the tall platform where Kelpie was located. After going around to the other side of the isle in this way, the shadow of another island on the opposite bank could be seen.
It seemed that they unexpectedly approached an island which had a village nearby.
After a while, on the dryland that was gradually approaching, an isolated coastal structure could be seen.
A cross stood on the roof. It was a church.
Lydia sensed her entire body shaking as she gazed at it. That shape......
“That church is......”
“That is the church of Cypress island. There is a splendid pastor there. A lot of the villagers hate outsiders, but if it’s there, you can be treated with kind hospitality.”
“Mr. Pastor always says that if we find someone who is bewitched by a fairy and drifting nearby, to bring them to this side.”
The fishermen father and son stared at Lydia intently. Although they smiled, there was a stiff feeling. There was no light in their pupils, as if they were dead.
They were people whose souls had been consumed by the Sluaghs.
The village had been controlled by the organization, and the villagers had become slaves.
Although she noticed this, it was already too late.
The boat was entering an area resembling a rock cave underneath the church.
A stone ladder was placed at the front of the cave.
Standing there was a man holding a lamp, seemingly waiting for their arrival. That man’s hat was deeply lowered.
“Welcome, Lady Ashenbert.”
Teran pursed his lips.

Lydia was imprisoned by Teran. After hearing this from Ermine’s report early in the morning, Edgar had to desperately endure the urge to immediately run out of the room.
“Prepare a change of clothes for me. I’m going to the church.”
He was barely able to give instructions with a cold attitude in front of Ermine.
“Lord Edgar, could it be that you believe that there is a way to stop Teran? You have already given him permission to handle Madam Lydia as he pleases, didn’t you?”
On the surface, he didn’t have any other method apart from saying this. Edgar even lied regarding his own behaviour, because he had to deceive the Prince, who was trapped in his body.
“Stop? I’m going to watch the show. Inform Teran that he is forbidden from taking action until I arrive.”
He planned to stall for time. Furthermore, Teran was bound to really want to show off towards Edgar.
Ermine didn’t say any more, and merely prepared his clothes with a nimble technique.
He tied his own tie, but wasn’t able to do it well due to his impatience. On one side, he thought that it would be much better if Raven was here at this time, as he would be particular about it. This wasn’t London, and there probably wouldn’t be aristocrats who were leisurely enough to care about how other people did their ties.
Even though he managed himself with great difficulty and completed the preparations to go out, he couldn’t rush out of the room. Edgar took a deep breath.
The problem lied in how he was supposed to stop Teran after rushing to Lydia’s side.
Edgar couldn’t simply change his emotions and shout at him to stop. If he lost his composure because Lydia was in front of him, it would only make Teran more happy to lay a hand against her.
This, however, was an unrivalled opportunity to eliminate Edgar’s self.
Thus, he had to think of a way to make Teran believe that there was absolutely no benefit for him to kill Lydia.
However, how was he going to do so?
He still hadn’t come up with a way to settle it, but if he continued to dawdle in this way, it might already be too late to rush over; he didn’t wish for this sort of thing to happen at all.
As Edgar stepped out of the room, Ermine stood up.
“I’ll go and prepare a horse. Furthermore...... please forgive my rudeness.”
She approached Edgar and quickly redid his tie.
“Even if it’s a tiny flaw, it might be fatal to you.”
At all times, Ermine was his comrade in the shared battle. Now, she was still planning to do so.
“Thank you.”
He spoke bluntly and the impatience within his heart mysteriously disappeared.
Staying in this organization, he had always been disguising himself. Even so, Edgar’s sincerity was still something that belonged to him. Regardless of who it was, it couldn’t be touched, even if it was the Prince. He was acting as a fake, and as long as his genuine self didn’t sway at all, then stopping Teran wasn’t impossible.
Edgar left the building and sped towards the church.
He urged the horse up the hill and surveyed the coastal area. Although the sun had already risen, the sea was still a murky blue colour. There was a silver-blue line streaking across the surface of the sea.
That was a signpost obtained after using Unseelie Court magic through the means of the star ruby. What did this mean?
And what kind of place was the fairy kingdom?
Edgar gazed at the ocean with a grim face.
In his field of view, a figure emerged in the distance, and so he fixed his gaze there. The silver hair danced in the wind while advancing towards him.
He recalled Catena’s silver blue hair. Although he didn’t know whether or not Francis inherited the bloodline of the fairy clan, Edgar intuitively believed it was very likely that his origins were somewhat linked to Lyonesse.
Amongst the territorial waters that joined the Cornwall region and Brittany, there existed an ancient kingdom that had a close relationship to fairies, once known as Lyonesse. If Diana, who was once Francis’ lover, had relied on the support of the queen of Armorica, then she ought to have made a similar request towards the last descendant of Lyonesse.
Diana, who embraced this mission and left for the fairy kingdom, and her encounter with Francis, did it truly stem from a mere coincidence?
“Hey, Edgar.”
Although Francis issued a greeting like he was simply meeting up at a pub in London, he stood several yards away from him.
“What are you planning to do with Lydia?”
The reason why he knew the facts was due to the information he obtained from Ermine.
“I’m free to do as I want.”
Edgar replied as the “Prince”.
“How do you want to help her?”
“Help her?”
Facing Francis’ solemn expression directly, Edgar smiled.
“Teran seems to be very happy because he obtained a toy. It can’t be said that the people who fall into that guy’s hands pray to be rescued, instead they beg to be killed by him.”
Francis furrowed his brows deeper.
“If Lydia dies, I won’t have a way to save you.”
“Eh, so you were planning to save me?”
“The one that I believe can save you is Lydia. But even though it came to now, I still believe that I should guide you to become the Blue Knight Earl.”
Was this land, Lyonesse, filled with guides? Edgar found it laughable once more.
Francis once told Edgar that he wanted him to become the Prince. Thus, the current him was forced to bear unimaginable pain and struggle. He showed an insincere attitude and spoke words that differed from his integrity so that he could maintain the dangerous balance within his body.
“Then, what do you want me to do?”
“Head to the fairy kingdom with Lydia.”
“The Prince has no way of entering the fairy kingdom, right?”
“If you bring Lydia, then you can enter.”
Edgar couldn’t enter the fairy kingdom. So he had to leave Lydia’s side and suppress the Prince’s organization. Francis had said so in the past.
However, by liberating the Prince’s powers, Lydia was now captured by the organisation who is trying to kill her, yet now, he said that Edgar could enter the fairy kingdom by bringing Lydia.
“What is the meaning of this?”
Edgar hardly concealed his impatience, and glared ruthlessly at Francis.
“Because the sword completely retrieved the ruby’s strength, Catena’s guidance could be obtained. You also understand what this means, right? Since the current you possess the Prince’s strength, you probably wouldn’t be rejected by the fairy kingdom.”
“You knew all these facts, so only then did you tell me to become the Prince?”
“I didn’t know anything regarding Catena’s guidance. However, as long as it is an effective power for the fairies, it will be accepted by the fairy kingdom whether it is good or evil. Not to mention the situation if both sides are possessed. That I know.”
“Even so, why didn’t you explain this beforehand?”
“Why are you asking me? Of course, it’s because if you are truly controlled by the Prince, then this fact might have the possibility of being exploited by him, right?”
Edgar’s anger rose even more.
“My apologies, I’m simply acting on the basis of my own goal, and won’t listen to your words.”
“Then, that doesn’t matter. Edgar, protect your own willpower. It will be too difficult if you want to make Lydia escape, so bring her to the fairy kingdom.”
Even though he might kill her there?
He swallowed these words with great difficulty and didn’t say it out loud. In the end, what should he believe, and what should he pursue?
“Then, what will happen after arriving at the fairy kingdom? Can the Prince be aware of this?”
After Francis pondered for a bit, he spoke.
“What I can tell you is merely the possibility of the fairy kingdom’s existence. Although that place is in the fairy realm, it is also a part of the human world. Because it’s a mysterious place, it might give rise to a contradictory phenomenon that simultaneously complies with the rules of both sides. The prophecy as well, because it holds multiple meanings, it possesses multiple possibilities as well.”
In other words, there was a possibility of succeeding, and a possibility of failing.
It truly was overly ambiguous.
In the end, what factors are needed to succeed? The people that intended on heading there clearly had completely opposite goals.
Even Francis as well, perhaps this might be his lie again. He had a lot of things that he didn’t want the “Prince” to know.
The Blue Knight Earl family, the Prince’s organization, Diana and Francis, Ulysses, as well as the McKeel clan who created the Prince and the Prophet, all of it was a part of his thoughts and intentions.
Numerous different standpoints and expectations will collide against each other in the fairy kingdom. Bringing Lydia into this whirlpool of confusion was sure enough a dangerous matter for her.
Furthermore, there was also the possibility that Edgar wouldn’t be able to completely control the Prince.
“I see. If I can be controlled there, then it’s possible to obtain a power more formidable than what I have now, right?”
Edgar spat out these words and kicked the stirrups.
“That object at the bottom of your heart, it shouldn’t have disappeared, right?”
Francis’ voice mixed with the wind and swept past.
What Lydia was seeking in the fairy kingdom was salvation, but it seemed like the first thing that would happen there was a battle.
Even so, he couldn’t let himself sit and watch.
Although Edgar had once considered making Lydia give up on going to the fairy kingdom, it seemed that now, even though he succeeded in protecting her from Teran’s hands, there was no other path to take. Because the path that ought to be taken had already appeared before them, it was seemingly proclaiming that they didn’t have any other place they should go to.
In result, he could still only do according to what Francis says. Edgar bit his lips, finding it ironic.
Catena’s sign which dazzled even more under the morning sun, and whether or not they refused, it planned to bring everyone related to the fairy kingdom there.
So is this what people called karma? Perhaps during those times, the agreement made between Julius Ashenbert and Catena wasn’t as simple as guiding his successor.

In the cellar of the church, Lydia’s hands and feet were bound, and she was tied to the chair, unable to move her body freely.
In the narrow room surrounded by stone walls, the light of the candle flickered with the movement of people. Even though she didn’t open her eyes, the periodic groaning came into her ears along with the swaying candlelight.
Lydia was brought to this room by Teran, and it seemed to be an interrogation room.
Ironwares with an unknown usage were side by side, and a man was tied to a stone platform.
He was the pastor of this church, a middle-aged man who was wasting away.
He was probably Teran’s subordinate, but why he would receive this kind of torture under Teran’s order wasn’t clear at all to Lydia.
Perhaps he did something wrong, but Lydia didn’t want to know.
The pastor’s groans were heard once again. She wasn’t able to clearly see how he was being treated. Just hearing slight crunching sounds, which resembled moving stage props, blood pooled on the floor.
This wasn’t an interrogation to make him confess and whatnot, but rather an action of cruelty to give him endless pain. The pastor did not have a secret to confess. Therefore, there was no means to ending it all; doesn’t this make one extremely desperate?
The smell of blood drifted in the air, which made one feel like vomiting. She clenched her teeth because she wasn’t willing to let them think that she was scared.
Teran walked towards Lydia, grabbing her hair upwards.
“So, how am I going to punish you? How about using a funnel to pour water into your body continuously. Or should I slice up your ears and nose, and scoop out your eyes? The process of ravaging this face so that no one would want to take a second look at it, I’m convinced that His Majesty would watch with delight.”
“......Edgar will come?”
“Yes, he said that he wanted to come and witness.”
Witness. Was this truly what he said?
It might have been in order to come and save her. Compared to these expectations, the unease grew stronger, and Lydia wavered.
What if he left her to die? Now, although she was able to do her utmost in enduring her fear, in the future, perhaps she would be frantic to the point that it becomes very unsightly.
“There’s no use doing this. I won’t surrender to you.”
Lydia said in order to encourage herself.
“You have the soul of a Nuckelavee, an inferior monster...... although there are people that exist who fear and comply with your practices, don’t you know that no one will respect you?”
Teran raised his hand and forcefully struck Lydia’s face.
The feeling of shock was stronger than the pain, making her nearly faint. Her mouth was wounded, and she could taste blood. Becoming aware of this wound, her body almost trembled, and she desperately repressed it.
“Teran, didn’t I say to not take action before I came?”
It was Edgar’s voice. Lydia desperately opened her eyes, trying to verify that it was him.
Edgar wore aristocratic clothing, which was extremely unsuited for the interrogation room, and stood at the doorway.
Even though he looked at Lydia, who looked tragic, he didn’t have a frantic appearance.
He walked over and looked down at her, as if he was looking at a rare animal.
“How pitiful, the bleeding.”
His fingertips gently stroked Lydia’s cheek, half-teasingly licking the blood that slid down the side of her lips.
With an ice-cold feeling like she had been ravaged, Lydia hid her face.
“Ah, what’s wrong? You ought to have liked my kisses in the past, right?”
How frightening.
His love couldn’t be felt.
Unable to continue enduring it any longer, Lydia trembled.
There was no love; what she felt was only something like the core of an Unseelie Court existing within Edgar. That object made contact with Lydia, disturbing her mental state. The dark, unpleasant magic core which had the smell of death drifting was humiliating Lydia.
This wasn’t Edgar’s kiss. Although it was loathsome, the person standing before her was indeed Edgar, and the emotionless pupils made Lydia tremble incessantly even more.
“Your Majesty, it seems that compared to me coming, she thinks that you are more frightening.”
Teran sneered.
“I don’t blame her. After all, I used to be so gentle.”
Edgar shrugged his shoulders.
“So, we’re killing her anyways, I can do whatever before then, right?”
Lydia couldn’t believe that this was Edgar’s method of doing his utmost to bring her away from Teran.
She felt rather than being injured by Edgar who had changed, that Teran would take action.
“Forgive my rudeness, but Your Majesty, this is my prey.”
“You want to monopolize her?”
“This woman is a fairy doctor, I have many things I want to experiment with. If it is after you have played with her, perhaps the experiments cannot be completed.”
At any rate, she would be killed. The frame of mind of having completely given up practically seized all of the strength within Lydia’s body.
However, Edgar didn’t liberate the Prince’s memories voluntarily. It was for Lydia, for their future, that he decided to place himself in the organization temporarily.
Regardless of the Prince’s effects that he suffered, Edgar’s genuine wish hadn’t disappeared. Protecting that wish and saving him was Lydia’s mission.
“Experiment? Creating a half-fairy like you?”
“If you desire that kind of servant, she really does have value as an experiment.”
She couldn’t die in this sort of place.
Not until Edgar was liberated from that loathsome thing.
“That sort of thing, Edgar won’t allow it.”
Organizing her thoughts, Lydia raised her voice.
“Hmph, you are already nothing to His Majesty.”
Teran raised his hand. Recalling the pain from a moment ago, Lydia’s entire body went stiff, but she still spoke with all her might.
“I’m p--pregnant!  ......It’s Edgar’s child!”
She spoke straightforwardly in one breath.
Preparing her mind for enduring Teran’s slap, Lydia closed her eyes. However, the pain that was expected didn’t fall, rather Edgar’s voice was heard.
“Stop, Teran. If this is true, then laying a hand on Lydia will be treason against me.”
“This woman must be lying.”
It wasn’t known if Teran said this due to intuition or his own wishes. But Edgar probably wouldn’t see through Lydia’s lie.
In Catena’s maze, Lydia and Edgar had tumbled down the slope. To be pregnant without having an accident, it truly was a miracle. And up until that point, if Lydia was truly the Prophet’s fiancée, then the matter of her not being able to have any man’s child apart from the Prophet, Edgar naturally knew as well.
Even though that was the case, Lydia still tried hard.
“It’s true. Th--this child is the outstanding bloodline of the Duke of Sylvainford family! He has the blood of the Stuart royal family flowing, which you guys admire!”
A moment of silence spread.
Then Edgar slowly moved his body, bent down in front of Lydia, and used a knife to cut off the ropes.
“Sorry, Lydia. Binding you in this kind of place is bad for your body. Let’s go to a warm place for your body to recover.”
He spoke in this way, held both of her hands, and his expression wasn’t happy nor did it appear suspicious; she didn’t know what he was thinking at all.
His words were good as well as his manners, sure enough a slight bit of affection couldn’t be felt. But Lydia didn’t lament at this.
Although she broke away from danger, she couldn’t be at ease.
“If you are lying, then I will make you experience hell.”
Teran said.
He was undoubtedly planning to make her experience hell regardless. Lydia glared at Teran.
“I am the mother of the next Prince.”
It was only this lie that could defend Lydia. She had to continue carrying out this lie.

“Hey, Raven, did you find Francis?”
Standing on an old grave, Nico waved his paws around at Raven.
They were riding the fairy ship, and because Lydia was taken away by Kelpie, Francis disappeared as well, so the ship was hidden behind a rock of the island and detained in Lyonesse for the time being.
After Raven got off the ship, he went to look for Francis and Darnell, but he never returned, so Nico couldn’t help but head over and take a look at the situation.
Standing on the small hills which swelled and seemingly surrounded the huge rocky grave, one could clearly see all the surrounding stone arrays and the scenery of the nearby regions without exception.
“No, I haven’t seen him at all.”
This area wasn’t vast, and the view was quite good, so it was simply unimaginable that everyone was actually once lost here.
Even Ulysses and Edgar hadn’t seen it either. They ought to have already left this place at an earlier time.
“That guy, Francis, he wouldn’t have been captured and brought to the organization, right?”
“He is a very clever person, I don’t think that sort of thing would have happened.”
Nico came down from the grave and stood by Raven’s feet.
“That guy, what he is honestly thinking, who he is acting for, no one knows. He might have disappeared in front of us on purpose.”
“Yes.”
“Even if we think so, he might return as if nothing had happened.”
“If that’s the case, should he be accepted?”
Nico crossed his arms and tilted his head.
“Do you think he is an enemy?”
“......No, although I can’t trust him, my intuition believes that he isn’t an enemy.”
“Then, accepting him is also possible, right?”
Raven nodded at Nico’s indifferent response, frankly accepting it. With regards to Raven, who was not in touch with elaborating on this kind of concept, Nico’s natural and unrestrained speech made him feel more at ease.
“The problem is Madam Lydia’s whereabouts.”
“Yes, but since she was taken away by Kelpie, we can’t do anything about it.”
“What is concerning is what Kelpie said at the time.”
‘Earl, I captured this fellow as you commanded.’
Kelpie followed Edgar’s command and took Lydia away. In other words, Lydia was now with Edgar.
If that was the case, then it turned into staying in the Prince’s organization.
“How troublesome...... What should we do, Raven?”
Slightly pondering for a bit, Raven began to talk.
“At any rate, let’s return to the ship first.”
When the two of them walked together and left, Raven looked back as if he was somewhat concerned about something, and glanced at the grave.
“The silver blue fairy has passed away, so what will become of the man’s body in here?”
Nico was slightly concerned as well. He was the man who originally ought to have become the orthodox Blue Knight Earl.
The ironic thing was that no one was able to anticipate this outcome, including Julius Ashenbert. For humans, it was quite difficult to foresee the future.
In that case, by what means did the Prophet use to foresee the future? Was it truly a fate that has been decided?
Whether it was the prophecy or the future, they were all constantly changing; the ancient fairy that resided in the Hebrides islands told Nico this. If that was true, Lydia and Edgar had hope.
“When Catena’s magic disappears, he will decay.”
“When that sign disappears?”
Raven gazed at the sea in the distance. Nico followed his line of sight and gazed as well, narrowing his eyes.
“Yeah, I suppose so.”
Although Nico felt as if he had made Lydia bear the burden of the fate Aurora had tried to change, that didn’t mean he was forced to do it. It was only because he didn’t want to make Lydia suffer.
If the idea could touch people’s hearts, and even touch an inhuman existence like himself, it could be understood upon changing the point of view; Nico wasn’t pulling Lydia back to the fate of the McKeel clan, rather he was helping her by pushing her towards the side of Edgar and the new Blue Knight Earl family.
Although now was a period of trials, those two would definitely prevail over any fate.
“Mr Nico, only Madam Lydia will be Lord Edgar’s companion until the end.”
Raven spoke, as if he suddenly remembered.
“Compared to me, the one who can continue to trust in Lord Edgar regardless of the situation is Madam Lydia. So I will protect Madam Lydia. It doesn’t matter even if she is the Prophet’s fiancée, Madam Lydia won’t change. Let’s convey this truth to her.”
Even if it was after knowing the facts, it didn’t matter if it was Lydia’s thoughts or wishes, as she definitely wouldn’t waver. Obtaining courage from the honest and just Raven, Nico was able to believe in this as well.
