Finding the Gold Dragon 16

The next day, the group left the inn early in the morning, and was stopped for a moment at a fork in the road. Grey's group and Id's destination was more or less decided, but Irlina's destination was still unknown.

Because the road was split from here, if they were to separate from this point on, they would most likely never see each other ever again. At that moment, Irlina made the first move and began to say her goodbyes. An eastern wind was gently blowing, and the hair behind Irlina's ear gently fell.

"I think I'm going to have to separate with you all here. I have other things that I must do."

With those words, the group courteously took turns to say goodbye to Irlina, and wished her a safe trip to wherever she was heading. Although they had met for a short while, they were still comrades who had made it out of a dangerous forest. As it was now Id's turn, the look in Irlina's eyes suddenly changed. It was because he had asked her a random question.

"Where are you heading to?"

Of course, the others from the group were also curious as to where Irlina was heading to, however it was common knowledge not to ask someone a question if they did not want to reveal it themselves. Sure enough, Reindelph furrowed his brows and looked at Id with eyes full of criticism.

He wasn't sure why he didn't like Id, but whenever Reindelph got closer to him, he felt a chill within his stomach and got cold feet. The other night, Id wasn't the only one who wasn't able to fall asleep. Every time he moved around in bed, Reindelph ended up waking up, and was therefore unable to get proper sleep. That was one of the reasons why he did not like Id.

Although Irlina hesitated for just a moment, she soon answered back honestly. It was because Id was the only human that could see who/what she truly was.

"I need to go and meet the head of the Gold dragons, because it has an item that I need to borrow."

Hearing the word dragon, Id became delighted. It may be because he was able to experience to opportunity to meet one. The other members of the group were unable to hide their astonishment, and they had wished that they had never heard this information. They had thought that she was a regular elf, but she ended up being a high elf. Furthermore, hearing that she had to go and meet a dragon now, they were glad that their group was going to be separating from her.

However, Id was completely delighted. He was glad to have met someone who would be able to help him with his other goal, and felt very fortuitous that these people popped up at the right timing.

"Irlina, let us go together then. I also have a reason to meet with a dragon."

Illan could not understand why they were so fearless. And, thinking everything to be ridiculous, Reindelph decided to butt into the conversation.

"Look here. What exactly do you guys think dragons are? It's not easy to meet one just because you want to meet one. And, if you want to meet them, you must put your lives on the line. You guys won't even be able to meet them if you guys treat this as a little picnic. Even our valiant dwarf warriors won't act as rashly as you guys. Especially you Id, Irlina is a high elf so she might have some sort of chance, but how do you think a normal human like you will be able to deal with a dragon?"

Reindelph's head turned red as he became heated.

'His voice is so loud. Is it true that dwarves are hot headed?'

Id's ears felt like they were going to fall.

"Reindelph, they say that dragons are wise. That's why, they should listen to some of the words that I have to say. And, the reason why I'm looking for them is more for them, so they'll most likely be happy than anything."

However, having been through a lot of bad situations due to a dragon, the dwarf reindelph could not have any good feelings towards them. He did not back down.

"You little boy, what are you taking my words for? Them you say? You stupid idiot! Dragons are organisms that live by themselves. And, do you think they will calmly listen to what you have to say? Although they're wise, they're that much crueler. If you carelessly go into their territory, it could be the end for you."

Hearing such a loud voice, everyone from the group had their hands to their ears. Especially for Irlina who had sensitive ears, she was bent down on the ground. Luke clicked his tongue.

"Either way, I'm telling you that I'll be fine. What do you say, Irlina? Do you want to go with me?"

Reindelph wasn't the type to let things end so easily. His stubbornness could even be seen in this type of situation.

"Look here, elf. Are you crazy? What are you going to do by meeting a dragon? Even if you guys are a woodland tribe and a race of harmony, and even if you are a high elf, do you think a dragon would want to deal with you? They're very prideful, and look down on everyone else."

As Irlina was calmly answering back to that question, Reindelph was unable to reply anymore.

"You don't have to worry about that. The head of the gold dragons that I'm going to meet has a form of acquaintance with our village. That's why, there shouldn't be any problems. And…….."

Irlina assented to Id's proposal.

"If Id wants to go together, then we can go together. However, we cannot stop for long at the next location."

Chapter 16 Completed.
