Afterword

Thank you for reading the second volume of How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord!

I’m the author, Yukiya Murasaki.

We received an almost shocking amount of positive feedback after the release of volume one, so thank you very much for that! Before this volume has even released, it’s been decided that this series is getting a manga! I never thought that I would get to talk about it this soon. It’s all thanks to your support.

Naoto Fukuda is the artist for the manga. It will start being posted sometime in June through “Wednesday Serious” on Nico Nico Web Manga (free to read the latest chapters).

In this volume, we saw Diablo and the others do battle with Greenwood—or should I say, Prince Keera—after they sent in their elite Elf soldiers. Diablo managed to both recover the princess AND fight off Galford, happy to have lived up to his name as the Demon Lord—though we know that’s just role play, and on the inside, he’s still as nervous as ever.

The last volume was mostly about magic, so this time I tried focusing more on things like shopping and potion-making. I also delved a bit deeper into the characters and the lore of the world.

In the next volume, we have some sudden developments in the works! As Edelgard and the other Fallen close in on Rem, the Demon Lord Krebskulm will finally be resurrected... maybe. I’m hoping it will be released sometime during the summer.

Special thanks—

Takahiro Tsurusaki, the illustrator, has been with me since we discussed where the plot should go. Thank you once again for the wonderfully bold and daring illustrations. They were amazing. Very amazing.

Thank you once again to Ooishi, the designer from Afterglow. The balance of the cover was just superb.

Thank you to my editor, Shouji, for being my emotional support and telling me, “This was another fun volume!”

Thanks to all the staff at the Kodansha Light Novel Editing Department, and to the family and friends who supported me.

And for all of you who have read this, I can only offer you my utmost gratitude. Thank you all very much!

Yukiya Murasaki
