Afterword

Magical girls again today, and my bowl of rice is delicious!

It’s been a long time. I’m Asari Endou. This time, the story is separated into two parts. I thought that only the second part would get an afterword, but right now, I’m writing an afterword for the first part. S-mura-san, my editor, said, “I definitely never said anything like that.” So maybe I dreamed it because I wanted it to be true. In S-mura-san’s own words: “Just scribble off something. In the next hour.”

Presently, an hour and a half has passed since I received that call.

What should I write? I love magical girls. No, maybe I shouldn’t go with that. Nobody wants me to go on about Majokko Daisakusen bondage stuff.

Now that I think of it, once, for my elementary school graduation essay, I didn’t have anything to write, so I filled up the lines with game passwords. I will endeavor to fill this with meaningful words to show that I have grown a little bit since elementary school, at least. I wasn’t told not to write an afterword full of antisocial material, either, but I can exercise that much judgment on my own. Yes, I have matured!

Because I’ve matured, I can now pride myself on my fantastic powers of concentration. As soon as the idea of mahjong flits into my mind, I’ll find myself playing it online, so I’ve deleted my account and password. Against my better judgment, I also end up playing free-to-play games online, so I gave my accounts to a friend. When I’m connected to the Internet, I end up wasting my time, so I pulled out my phone charger and said to my family, “Under no circumstances should you give this back to me for three days, even if I beg and cry for you to return it.” Thanks to this, my phone couldn’t be reached, and S-mura-san had a hard time.

As a result of all this self-control, I finished this book. I did my best.

The previous book was set in a city where the magical girls did their work—or were killed before they could do their work. But in this book, they’re killing and being killed inside a game. And rather than the more straightforward killing in Volume 1, all the killing is going on covertly, in secret. “This sort of secret killing is nice, too, isn’t it?” I say, complimenting my own book.

Oh, and in the second part, they’ll be killing one another in even more dramatic ways. If you’re thinking, “I want it to be even more over the top!” I’m sure you would do well to read part two!

Now then, let us meet again next month. I’ll go take out that phone charger now.
