With no leader, the rest of the cavalry are all scattering and running.
There seems to be no one among them who wants to stay here any longer.

His wounds gradually close and his rough breathing becomes softer.
He then slowly comes to his senses.

He’s one of the guards who received the enemy’s frontal attacks directly.
This amount of casualties on our side is nothing like before when everyone was cursed.
Surprisingly, we didn’t waste too much MP in the battle, so we still have enough to use recovery magic.

I face the direction to where Alo chased after the escaping enemy who summoned the wyverns.
I’m sorry…… but, I won’t be able to go after you yet. Don’t die on me, Alo……

I run around the village again to treat any villagers with fatal wounds.

She mutters a chant, raises her staff and closes her eyes all in a fidgety manner.

Aah, the basements where they hide from Abyss raids.
Bella leads me to one of them in the village.

She then goes inside a partially destroyed building.
This must lead to one of their bunkers.

I can’t fit inside, so I was left waiting at the entrance, and after a while, they brought over a man lying on a flat wood and wrapped in bandages.
The man was topless and some parts of his upper body was covered in green liquid.
He’s severely wounded from his shoulder and abdomen, and even the bandages can’t fully stop the bleeding.
That green liquid must be the Lithuvar Tribe’s medicine of some kind.

“Gra~a”

With Partner’s〖High Rest〗skill, all his wounds get healed in no time.
His pale face turns red, indicating blood is flowing in his blood vessels again. He’ll be fine now.

As if in awe, the Lithuvars in hiding all come out one at a time and approach me.

“Ryujin-sama has driven off the enemy!”
“He saved us again!”

In the mix of all the rowdy Lithuvar people, there was a familiar face who caught my attention.
The man who tried to help me escape back in the anti-Ryujin village’s sacrificial cave, Tatarc.

Tatarc was sitting down and leaning on a half-destroyed house.
Even though he got caught up in the crisis that befell the village, he’s still looking tense.
At first, I thought he also suffered a serious injury, but that doesn’t seem to be the case.

A woman from the back of the destroyed building says.
She surprised me, I unintentionally shook my shoulder.

Alo was one of the sacrifices to the Manticore so relations between the split villages might still be awkward.

It’ll take more convincing for the anti-Ryujin villagers to show them that they’ve really come to help.
The explanation I used to persuade the anti-Ryujin village, the truth about the Dragon God and the shrine maidens, along with a few exceptions, wasn’t told here and we promised that we wouldn’t reveal the truth to this village to prevent any confusion.
And, even if we do want to tell them, it’s best not to do it now. But still, it doesn’t change the fact that the anti-Ryujin village abandoned this village in the past, and all of a sudden, they just came waltzing back without warning.

With her tone, it sounds like a close person left her to join the anti-Ryujin village.
Well yeah, I can kinda understand why you feel betrayed after experiencing the loss of your child by the same village.
I’ll just stay out of this one.

As I think of that…… I saw Tatarc in the distance quietly walking away from the building.

…… Hm?
Eh? D-Does that mean Tatarc is Aino’s close person…… no, her husband who left her?

Now that I think about it, I remember that Tatarc just recently joined the anti-Ryujin village.
And, he joined at the exact time when the sacrifices were about to be offered to the Manticore.
The reason why I even helped the sacrifices was so I could hunt the Manticore down, that’s why Partner insisted on being the next in line to be sacrificed, but thinking back, those kids back in the cave remind me of Alo.

Alo also reacted strangely when we were about to enter the anti-Ryujin’s territory.
Maybe she thought that she’d meet her father there, thinking he’d join the anti-Ryujin village after her death.

Or, maybe Tatarc wanted to get rid of the guilt he felt from not being able to save Alo by rescuing the other sacrifices…… and, since Aino was against it, that means he left on his own will……
I don’t really get complicated stuff like that, but I can subtly imagine it. 

As Aino continues to shout complaints, I didn’t realize myself that I kept on staring at Tatarc’s back as he walks away from the scene.
