ShangriLa Frontier Chapter 341: Dragon! Dragon! Part 7 Part 1
At that point in time we were still not sure if that building in the middle of the village was indeed the Altar of Awakening. We only had the testimony of the People of the Forest for that, but…… Right about now we also had a new problem: the ever expanding pool of red liquid from the Red Dragon. At this pace, it would eventually reach that building, and the possible Altar of Awakening within it.
「Say, Deepslaughter? Do you think that the Altar of Awakening is an indestructible object?」
「Maybe, but I would not really count on that possibility…… But if it is an important flag or object, then would it not make sense that even if it is destroyed, the game will substitute something of same purpose in its place?」
Oi, oi, oi, oi, oi! Don’t just assume that we should let that place be destroyed! Think about our relations with the People of the Forest! And more importantly, where are we going to lift the caps on our levels if that place right here gets destroyed? We must defend it at all cost!
「…… Think that if we move away from the Altar of Awakening, the aggro of that pool will follow suit? That it will chase after us and stop expanding in that direction?」
「In the end here, it all depends on the possible range or the lack of thereof for the red liquids…… But if we try to lure all the small fries and the main body away, maybe it won’t stop the process, but slow it down even if only for a little bit? It’s certainly worth a shot.」
Easy to say, but both of us realize just how dangerous doing just that is going to be. The risk is high here, and we have no way of knowing if it is going to accomplish anything.
In other words, we cannot allow ourselves to make a single mistake while rushing through the middle of the enemy army…… This is increasingly harder since we do not know if we are on a time limit of any sort or not here.
「Guess we have no other choice but to get our asses to work and just do it……」
「Want some turtle shell bondage to help you strengthen that resolve? It’s surprisingly helpful in situations like that, you know?」
「The hell? Do you have some sort of fixation on turtles or what?」

It was really foolish of me to think that Deepslaughter would get her act together here all of a sudden, but now was not that time to scold her for that. So I just have to grit my teeth and survive through all of that innuendos and sexual metaphors of hers……
「Alright! Let’s stroke! Let’s rub! Let’s squeeze! We have so many partners to fuck their brains out!!!」
「Why does it sound like a title of some shady Harem-themed AV all of a sudden!?」

A cry of the soul. This shout was something that originated deep inside of my soul and was conveying its entire essence as of now.
What we were doing here was basically starting to resemble a fool’s errand. No matter how many monsters we slay, more just keep on coming. For every ten heads we send flying into the air, another twenty were ready to take their place.
At least the main body, the Red Dragon was okay to touch, so if push came to shove we could just use its bloated size as scaffolding to make escape and reposition ourselves, but in the current situation that was hardly anything to be happy about.
「Do you wish to live, you filthy pervert!?」
「Could you stop being like that right in the middle of a serious battle!? That’s seriously off-putting here!」
「I’ll take that as a “Yes, I want to live, My Queen!”」
Continuing to slash away at the surrounding enemies, I step onto the head of one of the dragon skeletons and next I run alongside its spine and tail, avoiding its teeth that were trying to crush me with their iron-like grip.
Then a certain thought occurred to me. So I used my mobility skills in order to jump about ten meters into the air, having a look at the battlefield here. From that height it was possible for me to witness the full scale of the hellhole that we were right in the middle of.
「The range of the eroding red liquids is….. Barely reaching the place where we currently are for now.」
The border between the red liquids and the green grass of the residential area was still very small, but it was slowly but surely increasing and getting away from there. So I guess that all of our struggles here were not completely in vein. Rampaging far away from the Altar of Awakening was indeed the way to go here.
Oho? What’s that? A home run ball? No, it was Deepslaughter who was sent flying by the bony tail of one of the small fries that was just emerging from under the ground. Did she die? Did she die? Please tell me that she died and I don’t have to suffer her antics anymore!
「Like a shooting star straight to your heaaaaaaaaart……~~~~~~!!!」
Tsk, looks like she’s fine after all. …… But I mean, what is going on here? Wasn’t she fatally injured here like, eight or ten times already?
「Oooh, landing on those things is actually way harder than you might think.」
Since the scales that cover the bodies of some of the small fries are like fish scales, in the regard that they are slimy, it is only natural that you would end up sliding off of them when you try to move forward on them. And that is exactly what was happening here.
I used the smaller dragons’ bodies as a form of a slide while avoiding the storm of fins, teeth and tail swipes that were coming my way without stopping. It was really hard to avoid them all completely, but I was somehow managing…… Yeah, when it comes to evasion, you always have options to choose from!
However ––
「You stupid shit…… As if I would let something like that stop me here!」
There comes a time when your options are being limited, mainly because of the skills that were still on cooldown. But just because your skills did not went off cooldown, does not mean that you have run out of options.
I did not wanted to use that here (mainly because it’s sort of a hassle to use that in front of other people) but I guess I have no other choice but to result to INVENTORY Escape plan.
Just wait for the right time…… Right here!
「“TRANSFER: INVENTORY!!!”」
「THIS ACTION CANNOT BE PERFORMED AT THIS TIME DUE TO HOSTILE ENTITIES BEING PRESENT IN THE FIVE METER RADIUS OF THE CASTER.」
