ShangriLa Frontier Chapter 350 Part 2
ShangriLa Frontier Chapter 350: Dragon! Dragon! Part 15 Part 2

…… So, is it over?

I would not think that a mechanized facility like that would have some words of encouragement for the visiting players. It’s kinda nice, but…… Oh well, not that I care all that much in the first place.

「Kukukuku……」

「S-Sanraku-san!?」

「Fufufufu…… AAAAAAHHHHHHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA~~~!!!!!!!!!」

「Sanraku-san is broken! This process must have broken him beyond all recognition!!!」

Hey, Deepslaughter! Now I see! This thing can really be a source of motivation! I mean, how can I simply be calm and composed when I just discovered something as awesome as this? There is no way in hell that I would not want to show off here!

「Emul, get your ass ready. We are going back to the frontline.」

「Eh!? Ah!? Huh!? R-Right!」

Kukukukuku…… when it comes to the raid monster, there are quite a number of tests that this new Sanraku here must perform.

And let me say this right here right now…… This battle. I am going to be the one who wins it!

Fire. Wind. Thunder. Water. Earth.

When it comes to the people who managed to reach the stage called “Sage” as a magic caster, learning new spells is not a problem. You only need a spell tome with the spell you want to learn, and have enough mana to cast it. “Sages” are masters of magic, so having mastered all of the elements, there is literally nothing that limits them in any sort of way.

What’s more, when we include magic that can be cast from the Disposable Magic Scrolls, the amount of possibilities for the sages to use truly becomes limitless in every sense of the word.

That is the reason why at the current moment, Deepslaughter was casting all sorts of magic one after another, and it was about half the reason why Tottori and the People of the Forest were able to maintain the front line without having it collapse the second things went bad.

(Right, support for the two People of the Forest.)

(Direct the aggro towards the back, where Tottori is.)

(Next, redirect all that aggro towards the tri-headed Tyranno.)

(Use the means appropriate to the situation, nothing more and nothing less……)

(Don’t forget to cast “Reserve Spell” before you cast “External Hate”.)

(Then cast “Aether Burst”.)

(Then approach with the help of the Formula Drift)

According to Deepslaughter’s words, this strategy right here is called Parallel Multitasking.

It is a common consensus amongst the players of ShangriLa Frontier that it is impossible to be able to cast multiple spells or use multiple skills at once.

In the first place, there is a certain rule to the magic system in this game. No matter how much of the spell’s incantation you would like to omit, there is always a part that must be said out loud, loud and clear: the spell’s name. And when it comes to physical skills, those can be activated with a thought alone. However, it is extremely difficult to be able to separate your thoughts from your actions entirely.

But the above was not necessarily proven to be impossible when it comes to the game’s system. And that is why Deepslaughter was able to establish that system of her. It was her original creation, hers and hers alone.

Division of thoughts and actions, which allow her to do one thing while thinking about something else entirely.

As for this system of her, it was the result of Deepslughter being “way too compatible” with Full Dive technology’s sensibility. Deepslaughter was not like one person, but many people in one body, and right about now those many personalities were overlooking and analyzing the battlefield, thinking of optimal solutions for every possible scenario. Just like a machine would do.

And the thing called “Reservation Chanting”. Once she activates a spell, she is finishing chanting the incantation for another spell in her mind. In other words, she is that type of Magic Caster who can actively observe the battlefield, casting needed spells while at the same time preparing all the other spells that will be needed in a moment, keeping them at the ready to be activated when needed. Truly, an ability that only someone like her would be able to master.

The result of that action is something that is too crazy to comprehend it. It is the equivalent of the most complicated and difficult acrobatic stunt one can think of. Activating both magic and physical skills at the same time.

「“AETHER BURST!!!”」

The magic spell hits the stomach of the Great Red Devourer. And using the moment when the Formula Drift was directing the aggro of the Great Red Devourer somewhere else, and the fact that the monster was occupied with the tri-headed Tyranno at the moment, there were figures here who were trying to sneak their way across the battlefield.

Two young forest Elves. Right about now they were trying to escape certain death, only to be met with five heads of the Great Red Devourer as they appeared right in front of them all of a sudden.

Hey, forest Elves, you. If you happen to die here, I’m afraid that this Tottori guy will throw one hell of a fuss over it.」

「Ah, we’re save, thank you……」

To Deepslaughter, NPCs are nothing special. They are just mobs with slightly different textures and slightly higher numerical values than monsters.

So no matter what kind of voice they were letting out or what kind of expression was visible on their face, for Deepslaughter it had little to no meaning.

「H-However…… Where did that weird bird-head go!?」

「N-Now way! Don’t tell me that he actually left us here to die and…… GAH!?」

A flash.

There was a flash of the magic sword, and the blade that was not meant to be fatal in effect, but reduce the HP of its prey by a whooping ninety percent pierce through the two Elves.

Just then, the necks of the two Elves were grabbed by a steel-like grip of a person whom they would never expect to possess such insane amounts of strength. There was one question visible in the eyes of the wounded Elves: “why”?

「Hmm…… This won’t do. It’s not nice to bad-mouth someone behind their back, wouldn’t you AGREE?」

There was a smile on Deepslaughter’s face. A completely unnatural smile that stood in contradiction to the actions her body below the neck was doing.

It was then that Deepslaughter opened her mouth to speak, and the tone of her voice was ice cold.

「You guys think that you have it all figured out, huh? However, I understand him more than you guys will ever be able to…… Sanraku-kun is not someone who would run away from the battle, is that clear…… Hmm?」

「H-Help, me… please……」

「Hyi! Hhh…… Pleash… don’t kill……」

The smile that was on Deepslaughter’s face was so fake that it was almost like a still image pasted onto her avatar.

Although the karma value was sure to accumulate there, the Player’s Name would not change to the red unless the finishing blow is dealt.

And since Deepslaughter is in charge of about eighty percent of the aggro right now, it is entirely up to her should the other live or should they die. It’s all to her whim.

「––––––!!!」

「…… ah.」

Tottori was yet to see that, as well as all the other People of the Forest. That is why only a few selected individuals were able to perceive the change that underwent in Deepslaughter at that moment.

「Ahaah…… That’s it, Sanraku-kun……! This is exactly the you that I wanted to see all this time!」

There was a change from a fake smile to a smile that was genuine and filled with ecstasy. However, it would be recorded in the annals of history of the People of the Forest that this smile was nothing short of “fear-inducing”.

「I knew it, you are the only one who can truly understand me, Sanraku-kun!」

And with that, we are back to the regularly scheduled program.
