Just as you would expect, the “Mystery Soma” worked like a charm here and gradually the HP of the tri-headed Tyranno started to recover. I don’t know just how much HP this monster have in total, but I guess the amount was more than sufficient here. Not that anyone would be able to tell me.
Just to be on the safe side, let’s pretend that this first “Mystery Soma” healed about fifty percent of tri-headed Tyranno’s total HP. But that means its status right now would be more or less “half dead”. Ah, what the hell, here you go! Have another “Mystery Soma” just for the hell of it! That way your HP is going to be back at one hundred percent!
「「「KORORORORORORO……」」」
「Whoa there, not so fast buddy! “Sanraku’s Amazing Commodities” don’t come free of charge, you know? I’m a granter of your desires, but that granting comes at a price that might as well be considered a rip-off! However, if you do not have cash to settle the price, we can work it out another way. By you helping us win this battle.」
Even though the eyes of the tri-headed Tyranno were dark and devoid of any kind of warmth, I swear I could see some kind of compassionate light lit ablaze deep inside of them.
「Now, if you want to settle the score for doing you dirty like that, I suggest first getting out of this underground hole and going after the Great Red Devourer……」
Even though we were in some sort of a glass tunnel right now, all around us there was nothing else but dirt and earth, so it was actually pretty dark in here. That being said, I used the Magic Torch spell in order to shed some light onto this place.
Hmm? And what’s this? What do we have here?
「Look here, tri—headed Tyranno. Wouldn’t this thing actually be one of your ancestors or something like that?」
Through the glass tube of the tunnel, I could see a giant skeleton fossil that was right next to us. It was surely a skeleton of the Tyrannosaurus Rex kind of monster, but this one had only one head instead of three. There was also a kind of charming detail that skeleton, in form of the fact that some portion of its head was missing, looking as though it was erased or evaporated. Could this be the doing of the Cyclops’ attack a few moments ago?
Speaking of which, it should theoretically be possible to collect fossils as normal items, so maybe it would not be a bad idea to go on a fossil hunt from time to time? Yeah, we can totally do that, but later, once this whole ordeal is finally over. Besides, there is something else that actually bothers me here quite a lot.
「Unharmed, did it really managed to get out of all of this without suffering even the slightest form of damage……?」
This space was created as a result of a huge blast of energy coming from the inside, the one created by that muscular arm. And judging by that tunnel, everything in the general direction it was going through must have gotten destroyed as a result as well…… Or at least that’s my take here.
But there was one place here that’s been…… No, looking closely, there is something there as well.
「…… What is this? Some kind of a pillar? Or maybe a thorn?」
Although it was something that surely got hit by that huge Cyclops explosion and turned into fine rubble, it was something that was reaching to the bottom of the ground while not being transparent at all. That is exactly why those mysterious protrusions that seemed to extend from deeper underground towards the surface, they were not made of glass, and by the look of it they were not the earth and stone that you could find around here. Plus, the fact that even though there was a scenery change like that and that arm shot just now those things managed to stay unharmed, it was really disturbing.
Was that rock…… No, it was certainly not it. However, for some reason I knew that it was some sort of ore…… Was it perhaps steel? The jet black thorns must have been a result of the impact that the arm explosion did, but aside from that, there is literally no indication that some sort of external factor here was able to influence their composition or current shape.
I mean, I had no idea at all that a thing like that was actually growing inside of the ground around here. Or maybe…… it was exposed to us like that only as a result of the forced change of scenery that Deepslaughter did?
「…… But this blackness…… I don’t know why, but I get a feeling that I have seen it somewhere before.」
Where was it……? And when was it……? This looks to be metallic in nature, but I do get some sort of an organic feeling from it, like the outer shell of some really bizarre monster…… It wouldn’t be from Nightprowler Luukan, would it? Sure, the skin of that Unique Monster was hard as hell, but it was also overgrown with fur…… Hmm?
「Uwoah.」
What was that? That sudden feeling that I was floating in mid-air? No wait, could this be…… it was the feeling of being lifted in the air by my skirt being pulled up?
When I finally managed to turn myself back in this dangling position, I could see the middle head of the tri-headed Tyranno holding the hem of R.I.P’s skirt with its jaw. Looking at the right head, it was looking straight back at me, but since it was the head of a reptile it was actually impossible for me to read any emotions from it. By the way, it looks like the left head managed to regenerate itself as well.
「Kyaah! Tri-headed Tyranno-san, you’re so naughty……! Ah, no, that’s not it! I mean, could you wait just a moment! There are still some things I want to do here! Items to collect! Inventory to organize! Hey, listen to me when I talk to you……!」
But the tri-headed Tyranno just continued to slowly march towards the exit of the tunnel, as if all of a sudden it was unable to comprehend the human language I was speaking to it. Of course, since it was holding me in its jaw, I was also moving away from the strange objects that I wanted to investigate some more. Who does this monster think it is!? And what is this “Come on! There is no time to waste, we must hurry!” kind of attitude that is radiating from it right about now!?
Wait just a freaking moment here, you dumb lizard! At least let me investigate those strange objects before we move away from hereeee……!!!
But tri-headed Tyranno would have none of it. Before I even noticed, its steps started to pick up their pace, and before long it shifted from a mere walk into something that we could easily call a rush.
