The Orc General has been subdued, and Rei also has been rescued. So with this, the case was closed–but it appears it wasn’t the case. Right after returning to the surface, Rei and I were scolded by the dungeon supervisor and the man from Yoizuki.
Rei was scolded for challenging the last boss without waiting for the reinforcement to arrive, while I was scolded for entering the dungeon when it was about to completely collapse. In other words, it wasn't an atmosphere where I could say ‘I am still in puberty' as a reason.
Fortunately, they easily believed the explanation about the last boss being defeated by Kazami and the others in exchange for their lives. Well, it's likely because the dungeon itself has already disappeared, so there was no way to confirm the truth about it, though.
Even if the act of challenging the last boss without waiting for the reinforcement was a foolish decision, many people thought it was commendable for Kazami and the others to be able to protect Rei, who had the lowest level among them, till the end.
Although she was the one who thought up this idea to tell them that Kazami and the others were the ones who subdued the last boss, Rei had a slightly dissatisfied expression when she heard that.
At any rate, with this, we finished explaining about the situation. Well, they seemed to want to hear a more detailed explanation from Rei, but she was allowed to go home for the time being today because they took into consideration that she just fought against a strong enemy and had many of her friends die in front of her eyes.
And now Rei, Yui and I were on our way home together. What's left was how to explain the situation to Yui, but because Rei said she had a good idea to solve it, I decided to leave it to her.
Then, the one who brought up the topic first was Yui.
"You two are finally released. So, Rin-san, what did you want to explain when you said ‘I will explain it later'?"
"Haven't you somehow got a guess about it?"
"Etto… Is it about how you entered the gate even though you said you just captured a dungeon yesterday?"
…of course she would find out about it.
I turned my gaze to Rei, and she nodded confidently.
"Looks like Yui doesn't know because it has only been a short time since she became an adventurer."
"E? Kurosaki-san, what do you mean?"
"Some mechanisms of the dungeon will not work when dungeon collapse happens. As a result, you will be able to enter regardless of the re-challenge intermission."
"It's like that?! I-I didn't know…! Good grief Rin-san, please tell me about something like that in advance!"
Oi, is it fine to be fooled that easily?
Yui believed Rei's lie easily made me even want to ask something like that. Well, her experience as an adventurer was still short after all, so it can't be helped. However, there was still a problem with this method.
I approached Rei and quietly said.
"Hey Rei, isn't it impossible after all? Even if she believes it now, she will soon find out about it when she gains more knowledge about the dungeon from now on."
"I know. The good idea that I said before in fact starts here."
After taking a breath, Rei continued to say.
"I believe the reason why Rin wanted to hide your power was because Rin wanted to avoid the jealousy and hindrance from those around you."
"Yes, that's right."
"Then, it's simple. Before Rin's power is known by the others, Rin just needs to become strong enough to not have a problem even if there is malicious intent toward you… In other words, I think you just need to become the strongest in the world,"
"Please don't say something ridiculous all of a sudden…"
Strongest in the world, huh…
