Chapter 3 The Truth About St. Lily Magic Girls’ Academy

Part 1
The first thing I remember is red ??
My set-ablaze house burning red, blood spilling red, my beloved family dyed red.
And above all else ?? my eyes burning as I looked at that girl’s flaming hair.
Like always, when I dream ?? it’s a dream engulfed in burning flames.
The red, scarlet, and crimson flames of my dreams that still continue to burn my very being.
That’s right, my [Memory of Flame] ??
“Nooooooo! Fatheeeer!?”
Everything was crimson red ?? blazing hot.
Flames roaring, a house burning, my father and mother drowning in a pool of blood.
Already reduced to a powerless husk merely clinging to the bodies of my parents, the past me helplessly cried and shouted.
“You…..! How dare you….my father….!? My mother…!?”
A girl was standing there by herself looking up with tears pooling in her eyes.
Standing there seething, flames appeared to be gathering around her scarlet hair ?? holding a sword in her hand, that in retrospect, was so long that it seemed to be a joke.
“I-I won’t forgive you…absolutely… will never…forgive you….!”
Burning with chaos and confusion, anger and hatred, I scream at that little girl.
In the hands of my father who had fallen straight on his face, was an Eastern sword….I picked up that [Katana] and stood up.
As my hands trembled and I couldn’t even breath properly I pointed that sword at the girl.
“………..”
The girl watching over me, silently turned her greatsword towards me.
Getting rid of any eye-witnesses ?? remaining completely silent, the pitch-black nothingness residing in her pupils betrayed her dark intentions.
For the first time in my life felt the claws of death upon me.
But while violently trembling, I try to muster my courage as much as possible ??
“Ah ?? ahh ?? ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ??!”
Screaming so loud my voice bean to crack, I slashed at that girl.
Possibly due to the daily training my father imparted on me, being able to maintain Ki Ken-Tai* in that situation was pretty remarkable in itself. (TN Ki Ken-Tai*: A combination of mind, sword, and a defensive position in Kendo/Sword martial arts, something like they’re at the peak of concentration and about to execute an ultimate slash or something.).
I unleashed the utmost slash that I could muster towards that girl ??
*Kang!*
“????!?”
And the girl easily flicked off my attack with her greatsword.
An impact so great it caused my sword to fly out of my hands.
In just the mere moment that our blades collided ?? is when I completely understood.
The difference in ability between us. The difference in the weight between our swords.
Now that I think about it, despite his long military service as a solder, Father was easily defeated by this girl. My inexperienced self had no way to bring about a victory.
“Khe….khe…..!?”
I immediately lost my will to fight after that realization and clumsily fell on my butt and scampered back.
The flaring flames, the blood on the floor, the embers dancing as they fell, my own hands and feet, everything in view was red…red…stained in red. Burning…burning….help me….
“N….no….d-don’t come here….stop….please, at least my life….”
Forgetting my hatred and anger and even the fact my parents were just killed, I sat there pitiably begging for my life.
But the scarlet-haired girl continued to walk towards me disinterestedly. She stopped right before me.
Holding the greatsword in both hands, she raised it overhead, and swung it towards me.
“Ah….ahh…ahhhh…..!?”
A world where everything is dyed crimson ?? a burning scorched world.
Aiming at the peak of my head, that scarlet-haired girl brought that fatal piece of steel down.
*Bun!* A muffled sound tore through the air.
Like a lightning bolt falling from the heavens, a sword flashed before my eyes and split my red world in two ??
“Aaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh??“
“??Haa!?”
*Gaba!* Like usual, I woke up throwing the blanket off.
“Haa??….! Haa??….! Haa??….! Haa??….!”
This is….My room in the student dormitory of St. Lily Magic Girls’ Academy.
I returned to this annoying and dreadful place again yesterday.
In a room equipped with just a basic bed.
My whole body was drenched in a cold sweat and an uncomfortable feeling.
My breaths were burning hot and my heart was pounding uncontrollably.
I frantically look around my plain room.
But no mater how much I look around my room that red color could not be found. Nor the burning feeling.
While letting out a breath of relief due to the fact….
“Once again…that dream … “
I couldn’t help but feel despair since early morning.
When exactly would I be freed from that [Memory of Flame]?
Since that day that I lost everything, I’ve been continuously assaulted by that dream.
“But…it’ll all be over soon…no…I’ll make it end….”
That’s right. I’ll end it.
With my own hand, my own past. I’ll end that abominable [Memory of Flame]
Hence for that reason I won’t be swayed by that woman’s proposition anymore.
I’ll end everything with this hand. End that unsightly past, my weakness from that day.
And so, finally….I can start my life anew ??
After arriving at St. Lily Magic Girls’ Academy, for the time being Glenn and co. spent the night at the guest student dormitory in front of the station as planned.
And so ?? early the next morning.
From here on out, they’ll be attending school, so they set out towards the campus….
“Uwaahh….”
Rumia was staring in amazement at the scene spread out before her eyes.
The school grounds were dark yesterday so there wasn’t much to see but now that it was daytime so that wasn’t a problem, along the main street from the railroad station leading to the main building of St. Lily Magic Girls’ Academy, there were a variety of essential shops for the students such as a bookstore, restaurants, florist, open cafe, and a hair salon.
Of course, all the employees were women.
Beautifully paved roads, buildings with sharp angled roofs lined up, signboards drooped in front of their shops, colorful flowers in full blossom on the sides of the roads, light-posts lined evenly along the roads….each and everything along the road was refined to suit a high end taste, giving off a dazzling scene beyond one’s imagination.
“Amazing isn’t it…..yhere’s such an amazing street on campus grounds….”
“…I’m surprised.”
At this time even Re=L was looking around curiously.
“It’s a bit small, but it’s a beautiful street isn’t it? It gives off a really good vibe……ahh I wanna go to a school like this….”
Sistine who was completely taken in, excitedly said that.
“Keh….this is suffocating. I’m going home.”
Glenn looking annoyed said that while looking over his shoulder.
“I mean how should I say this….well this atmosphere really doesn’t suit Sensei that much.”
Sistine lets out a sigh after replying to Glenn’s thoughtless remarks.
“You idiot, I don’t mean it like that. You haven’t noticed it yet?”
Glenn clasped his hands behind his head and responded with a bitter expression.
“This school…surrounded by deep forests, lakes, and mountains…without the train, escape is pretty much impossible….It’s basically a solitary island on land with how cut off from the rest of the world it is.”
“?”
Sistine unintentionally let out a gasp.
“…..A boarding-style school built in a remote region for noble girls. An unnatural isolated society that sterilized foreign cultures by eliminating vulgar desires…..this is merely a birdcage. Even with such a fancy appearance, I can only think of the feelings of the little birdies trapped inside.”
Sistine recalled the scene from inside the train yesterday.
The train from the Imperial City to St. Lily Magic Girls’ Academy was packed full of students.
Meaning…..meaning, that that many students had left the school. Meaning that all of the students had wanted to leave the academy. And it wasn’t like it was a very long break either.
“Whether we’re talking about the Black Lily’s or the White Lily’s…..why do such groups exist in this place that’s supposed to be a haven for innocent flowers ….is what I’ve been thinking. I feel like something is up here…..”
“………”
Not knowing how to respond, Sistine was forced to remain silent.
And so, they continued to advance along road that had trees spaced at equal distance from one another.
Eventually St. Lily Magic Girls’ Academy main building, which was so majestic it practically resembled a noble’s castle, appeared before Glenn and co.
As soon as the arrived they were immediately sent to the principal’s office.
“Welcome, I’m sure you’ve had a long and tiresome journey to our school.”
The woman that welcomed them appeared to be about 40 years old give or take. Marianne was the dean of St. Lily Magic Girls’ Academy.
“The Empire’s world renown magic academy, Alzano Imperial Magic Academy….I am very honored to be able to accept such excellent student’s and a renowned professor into our care.”
Marianne smiled sweetly while giving out her welcoming.
“Anyhow, our academy is in such an isolated place. I’m hoping that a new professor and students will breathe a breath of fresh air into our academy.”
“Well, don’t worry too much about that…..anyways well…”
Glenn began probing for information.
“Why did you offer a short-term study-abroad program to Re=L?”
“Mmm you’re asking [Why?]?”
Marianne curiously tilts her head to the side.
“Umm…. our school has decided to extend an offer for a short-term study-abroad program to other academies….following that train of thought, based on a preliminary report from our school’s Education Support Department, we decided that Re=L is an excellent student suitable to our schools program…..is there be any problem with that?”
“…….”
That bad smell. Glenn’s facial expression remained blank as she spoke so eloquently.
Horrible academic results and daily property damage. Even after just a minute of the most basic research anyone would find out that Re=L isn’t at all compatible with this spoiled noble gilr academy.
(Was it merely an admin error….or was the background investigation based on a false report….or even…..)
Was there actually an appropriate candidate who met the criteria but at the last minute someone replaced that candidate’s name with Re=L. Anyhow that smell was still there.
However, Glenn had no way to ascertain the truth.
What I need to do now is make sure Re=L and Rumia are safe.
(Well….it seems like maybe it could be the Researchers of Divine Wisdom just targeting Re=L, not Rumia…?)
At the time Glenn was absentmindedly considering such things.
“Leaving that aside, I’m very sorry to trouble you…..Renn-sensei….”
Of course Marianne was speaking to Glenn.
“On this occasion while we are accepting Ms. Re=L and the others, we’re also going to be putting Ms. Renn in charge of a class, and regarding that class…”
“Eh? Is there something wrong?”
Glenn frowned upon hearing Marianne’s evasive words.
“By the way….Renn-sensei, are you aware of our school’s tradition of [cliques]?”
“You mean like the Black Lilies or the White Lilies? No….not much.”
Glenn was a bit mystified in the sudden change of conversation.
And so Marianne awkwardly began her explanation.
“Originally, St. Lily Magic Girls’ Academy was an academy established for upper-class girls, to instill proper the proper culture and etiquette befitting their status on them, before their marriage.”
In the Alzano Empire, magic, swordsmanship, combatives, horse riding, and education….these are regarded as the five major cultures of nobles. The one who stands above all else in both literary and military arts is considered the ideal noble.
“Hmm. Isn’t the basis of this academy a bit different from that of the Alzano Imperial Magic Academy, where there they aim to expand magical research and train magicians to support the foundation of this country?”
“That’s right. That’s the reason for the isolated location, strict rules, and rigid curriculum…..and also why all the girls in this academy come from the upper echelons of society….I suppose such a particular environment couldn’t help but force it’s creation….the student’s creation of [cliques].”
“Mhhh?”
“Most of our students belong to a special gathering of fellow-students called [cliques], which of course is separated from schooling and clubs. It’s a given that these organizations aren’t officially recognized by the academy…..but the administration can’t simply just ignore them either.”
“I bet huh. The student’s who make up these [cliques] are daughters from the most prominent and influential households in the Empire.”
If a group of them went like [Hey hey! Daddy please!] all at once with a unified request….
I see, this really is a pain.
“It’s as you say. At the beginning, [cliques] were started as some sort of comfort to alleviate the feelings of suffocation of being locked up by having the girls form groups for mutual encouragement….but now the [cliques] are so powerful that they can even influence the academy’s administrative policies. And so, the larger cliques are more likely to disobey the academy…that’s how it is here.”
“Oi oi oi wait…..and that’s fine? Seriously this school is…”
“And currently, there’s two particularity influential [cliques]. One is the [White Lily], the oldest clique in this academy, a traditional clique that has focused on order and discipline for generations. And the other is the [Black Lily], an up and coming clique that has grown exponentially in recent years that focuses on individual freedom. These two cliques are competing with one another to see who can control the academy.
“I feel like this school is riddled with problems.”
Glenn a face showing complete disinterest.
“Yes, it’s a deplorable state of affairs. In addition to the problems stemming from cliques, recently there have been rumors that some of our girls have been secretly participating in new religious cults and mysterious magical organizations that are obsessed with occultism, including the usage of ouija board and seances…..”
“Ahh, isn’t it about time that the [isolation element] of this school has reached it’s limits? Then…..”
It’d be dangerous to say the least. Glenn’s face stiffened while he muttered that.
“….So? Leaving that aside….what’s the problem then?”
“Well…..following what  I said earlier…Renn-sensei, the class you’re going to be in charge of….is just a bit of a problematic class….”
“….Problematic? What do you mean?”
“I see….it’s like that….”
…..As soon as Glenn started his first lesson.
As he quietly taught the lesson in front of the blackboard, Glenn was internally groaning at his wits ends.
St. Lily Magic Girls’ Academy is composed of three grades and five classes: flower, moon, snow, star, and sky. After the meeting with Marianne came to an end, Glenn and co. immediately went to the class where he would be in charge, the second year moon class.
“Umm, my name is Renn = Gladars. It’s been decided that I would be the professor looking over your studies from here on out during my short-term stay here. It’s nice to meet you!”
“Sistine = Fibel. I’m from Alzano Imperial Magic Academy.”
“I’m Rumia = Tingel. Please take care of me the short time I’m here.”
“Re=L = Rayford.”
Glenn and co. gave the standard self-introductions in front of the class but….
“A-ahh…..?”
*Jiii*
Even though new students and even a new teacher came, a scene where the students would normally be bustling in excitement, the reception they got was blunt stares and a chilly atmosphere.
“So then, when you insert the spell verse here, according to the law of psychological state, the magical equation…. and here this portion amplifies the physical effects…………”
And so Glenn began his first lesson in the awkward atmosphere.
Following St. Lily Magic Girls’ Academy’s curriculum, while writing spells and magic equations in chalk on the blackboard, Glenn carefully and in detail explains the spell syntax.
As usual, he explains it in a way that beginning students can easily understand it, and advanced students can deepen their comprehension of it…..as expected, Glenn was conducting an excellent lecture that would leave anyone satisfied.
“….In conclusion….if you add words…..with a stronger significance…to the prefix…….”
However, the hand moving the chalk eventually came to a stop, and Glenn’s whole body started to tremble…..
“Tsk…. hey you guys! Stop and listen when someones talkinnnnnng!!”
*Baa!* Turning his head to look back at the students.
Before his eye’s a terrible scene beyond ones’ imagination was taking place.
Right now, in the moon classroom, 40 girls were split in half, each half gathered in groups on the left and right side of the room, each group gathered around a specific student.
“Ohohoho~! This has a pretty good taste! It’s a dish worthy of me!”
On the right side of the classroom. The [White Lily] clique centered around Francine.
“Yosh~ nice draw! Raise me 10 chips!”
On the left side of the classroom. The [Black Lily] clique centered around Colette.
Francine and her group had tea pots and a tri-layered biscuit and cookie display set up, enjoying idle chatter and discussing poetry…..
Colette and her group were sitting around being obnoxious while playing cards and gambling.
“….Oi aren’t you in class right now!? What do you guys think you’re doing!? This isn’t just on the level of a class disruption nor refusing to pay attention, it’s not even close ? what the hell is this!?”
“Jeez! [Black Lily]! You’ve been quite noisy for awhile now! And you’re bothering the professor!”
“Huhh!? Ain’t the ones being loud you idiots in the [White Lily]!? And bothering the professor!”
Treating Glenn like just an extra, Colette and Francine started a fight with one another…..
“Why don’t all of you just be quieeeeeeeeeet!?”
*Gataaaa!*
After saying that Glenn showed off his certain-kill original magic, [Flipping over the Teachers Desk in Anger].
However, even after witnessing such an amazing sight, Francine’s and Colette’s group ignored Glenn and continued their skirmish.
“Yosh~! I wish you well! Everyone gets a spanking as a punishment ??“
With a twitch in his forehead Glenn cracked his knuckles and tried to force his way in but….
“””””””Will the outsider please stay out of this!”””””””
“Gyaaaaaaaaaaaa!?”
Glenn was immediately blown away to his original point by a combination of electric shocks, wind magic, a hammer made of water, air bullets, and a fire and ice storm.
They were looking down on him….or it actually surpassed that level long ago.
“A-Are you okay!? Sensei!”
“Haa….ahh damn it already! I thought that the intellectual type of students were annoying, but I’ve come to realize how grateful I am for the diligent hard working students at Alzano……”
Glenn said while Rumia helped him up to his feet.
“….The students don’t even bother to try listening….but on the other hand, did I even try to understand the situation surrounding the students who weren’t paying attention? ….Is it too late at this point?”
In the front row of the middle section, Sistine could be heard mumbling.
“Geh….You can’t be serious…..”
Glenn couldn’t help but stiffen up during his self-reflection.
That aside, it seemed the situation reached a boiling point where even the honor student Sistine, whose clenched fist were shaking, was on the verge of exploding. If she wasn’t an exchange student then she surely would’ve acted long ago.
That’s right.
This second year moon class that Glenn was in charge of….Francine and Colette ….the heads of the White and Black Lilies, as well as the core members of each clique, were packed tightly into one classroom, which caused this place to be the main battleground of their skirmishes.
“….Seriously….hey whose the one who did that…no wait whose the one who threw garbage too?”
And at that time.
“…W-Well….I’m very sorry Renn-sensei…..and you even went through the trouble of travelling the long distance here….”
Sitting in the front row, Elsa dejectedly drooped her shoulders.
It was a wonder that Elsa was even part of this class.
A horrible fate of luck on her part.
“It’s fine it’s fine. There’s no reason for you to apologize.”
Suddenly, Glenn let out a deep sigh.
“But Elsa….were you actually listening to my lesson? What I’m trying to say…you’re not associated with either of them?”
Saying that, Glenn threw a glance towards the two groups in the class.
“Ah haha…..well…..I….actually don’t belong to either clique….”
A hint of loneliness could be heard in her voice.
“The truth is….I’m actually….at the bottom of the barrel in regard to being a magician…..”
“Eh? Is that so?”
Caught by surprise, Glenn looked towards Elsa’s notes.
She was able to comprehensively summarize the important parts of his lecture, which shows how diligent of a student she is.
Even if she was a bit reserved, she did give off the aura of an honors student.
“That’s why I’m here with everyone, cause I’m considered a trouble student…..”
“Haa? What the hell is up with that? Oi what do you mean?”
Glenn unintentionally tries to pry out more info.
“There are many aspects to each individual. To pry further would be insensitive, Renn-sensei.”
The one who rebuked him was none other than Francine’s attendant, Ginny.
Ginny who gave advice to Glenn and co. the other day, similar to Elsa, was sitting in the front row in order to listen to Glenn’s lecture.
“….Yeah, I guess what you said is true.”
It is a fact that Glenn and Elsa barely met so their relationship was still superficial.
Realizing that Ginny’s statement had some truth in it Glenn immediately stopped his line of questioning.
“Speaking of which, Ms. Ginny…is there anything we can do? About this.”
And so Glenn once again turned his eyes to the disaster he called his class.
Somehow or another it seems the uproar had died down a bit, but the class still looked like it was on the verge of collapse.
“It’s impossible. If I told them to listen, then the thing that happened to the previous professor….*Sniffle sniffle*”
One could easily tell that Ginny was 100% acting despite her burrowing her face in her hands, her monotonic voice didn’t help her case.
“Oi oi oi…leaving aside the gangish Black Lilies, wasn’t the White Lilies a clique that upheld order and discipline….?”
“Yes aren’t they being respectful right now? After all, according to White Lily traditions, right now is [Mandatory Teatime]. And to those who belong to the White Lily clique, one will be labelled [evil] if they disrupt the traditions.”
“What the hells up with that!?”
“In the first place, students in the White Lily clique hardly attend any lessons to begin with, Whether it be in cafes, libraries, courtyards, or wherever we like, we hold refined (hehe) study groups (hehe) with our own private tutors.”
“H- wait a sec!? How do you guys get passing credits then!?”
“The academy has recognized the White Lily’s [study sessions] as legitimate and thus we get credits for it, seriously how irresponsible. And the programme of the study sessions really are quite strict in terms of duration and guidelines, and that seems to make it an approved system (hehe). ”
“Ah the number one useless system it seems. Unskilled delinquent students with a nasty disposition….”
At this point Glenn was no longer sighing.
“Seriously, what a bunch of weird people at this school….but you were able to catch my lessons like Elsa? Aren’t you a member of the White Lilies?”
“Of course not, because I’m unworthy of it.”
Ginny said that in a way where one couldn’t tell if she really meant it or not.
“Aside from Elsa and I, no one in the class will listen….Renn-sensei’s lesson was taught at a very high level. The private lessons for those stupid spoiled girls pale in comparison……if they don’t listen it was their loss.”
“Exactly that’s right! I was also surprised!”
Somewhat butting into the conversation, Elsa excitedly agreed.
“Are the Alzano Imperial Magic Academy students always exposed to such splendid lessons? I’m kind of jealous.”
“Ah ahaha…..Is that so?”
Sistine was smiling in glee as if she was personally getting praised.
“Yeah I feel the same way. At our school it seems the professors focus more on teaching noble etiquette rather than magic…..”
Ginny who doesn’t seem to ever be interested in anything was in a rare talkative mood. And at that time.
“Ginny! What do you think you’re doing!? Hurry up and bring a second serving of tea!”
Before long Francine’s voice came screaming from the right side of the room…..
Tsk….Ginny stuck her tongue out in retaliation….
“Yes! At once! Milady!”
Switching back to loyal dog mode, Ginny got up at once.
“Oi….don’t just blindly obey her like that…..”
“…..Well we’ve been together since childhood; I’ve seen all her joys and sorrows. I don’t necessarily hate it. Though sometimes, I take that back, most of the times it is annoying.”
Her usual expressionless face turned into a slight smile.
“Now then, in regard to those guys, you should blame your luck the moment you got assigned to this class and just give up. Well at their core they’re not bad people so it wouldn’t be too bad to leave them alone regardless. My advice is to just compromise here.”
Answering his question and leaving her advice….Ginny went on her way.
“Well, I’m not too sure about this situation though…..”
His main focus was on none other than Re=L herself.
In order to prevent Re=L from failing out of the Alzano Imperial Magic Academy, it’s essential that she earns the required amount of credits here.
However, with how the classes are going so far that won’t happen. Not even being able to take roll call much less administer tests. If he couldn’t even hold a proper class then Re=L wouldn’t get the credit she needs.
Unless he could do something about this class then Re=L’s expulsion would be inevitable.
“….What should we do?”
Sistine anxiously asked Glenn.
Glenn covered his mouth with his hand and quietly got lost in thought…..
“I have a good idea!”
“Ah a bad flag just appeared.”
Sistine sighed at Glenn who was brimming with confidence wearing a satisfied look.
“Haha I was being such an idiot…I wonder if I should try that skill I’ve inherited from Celica?”
“Huh? Arfonia-sensei’s?”
Celica = Arfonia. A non-human mage of the seventh order, #21 of the Imperial Court Mage Corps Special Missions Annex and it’s former strongest operative, [The World]. Renowned as the greatest magician on the continent, she is as a world-class sage.
“But with that being said…..I wonder if you’ll be able to do it….?”
“Of course! Leave it to me, Celica’s only beloved disciple!”
Boasting out his chest with pride, the current Glenn seemed quite reliable.
“Mmm…..watch! The great wisdom that Celica has cultivated over four hundred years…..Single-handedly overcoming various magical trials…This is….”
“…..*Gulp*…..This is….?””
Glenn pompously took a few seconds for effect while holding a smile…..
And so…..*Buchin!*
“Tough loooooveeeeeeee!”
Glenn suddenly rushed towards the girls making a ruckus.
“Ooooooooiiiiiiiii!”
*Dokashaaaaa!*
He scattered Francine’s tea set and snacks with a flying drop kick holding the power of a fired cannonball ??
“Theeeeeeeeereeeeeee!”
*Bababa! Babababa!*
And while still maintaining his speed from early he dashed over to where Colette was sitting and with the skills of a seasoned purse-snatcher he took their cards and magazines away ??
“Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!”
With movements as smooth as water he threw the materials out the window.
While all the [material not appropriate for class] flew threw the air in a parabolic arc…..

“Ahh now that’s done!”
While wiping the sweat off his face, Glenn had an expression like he just accomplished a heroic deed.
“!?!?!?!?!?”
“….Wow. You really did it….”
Ginny muttered that while Elsa darted her eyes back and forth in confusion…..
“””……………”””
As one would expect, all the students in the class were dumbfounded by the current events….
“No talking in class ?, neh?”
Glenn once more stood on the podium and flashed a thumbs up to the students while smiling.
“…Well I had a hunch……because it was a skill passed on from the professor.”
“A-Ahaha…..”
Rumia had no choice but to smile at Sistine who was at her wits’ end.
“Y-Y-You!? W-W-W-What do you think you’re doing!?”
“Oi, you bastard. Sensei….how the hell are you gonna compensate for this? Eh!?”
And as one would expect Francine and Colette, along with their entourage, went up to Glenn seething in anger…..
“Yes in short, if we disassemble the syntax the spell’s fundamental attribute changes…..”
Glenn could be seen resuming class while obviously ignoring the student’s protest.
“Do you not listen to people when they taaaaaalk!?”
“Listen to someone when they taaaaaaaalk!!”
It turns out that Glenn was more versed in agitating people more so than the naive young ladies cooped up their whole life (which is not necessarily a good thing).
“Seriously….I don’t know if it’s because you’re a substitute professor coming from the Alzano Imperial Magic Academy or what have you….but it appears that you need to be properly educated!”
“Aren’t ya a teacher? And shouldn’t teachers just teach? What the hell you think you’re doing eh? Acting all ? …..Eh!?”
The reason Colette and Francine were acting this way was most likely due to them being sheltered and spoiled.
Colette’s studded glove snaked out grasping Glenn’s collar….while Francine’s unsheathed saber was pressed against the nape of his neck.
In an instant the class was engulfed in a heavy tension??
And there was only one person among the students who was reacting to the situation.
(….What? These guys……are they Glenn’s enemies?)
Till now Re=L was more interesting in nodding off instead of class.
(…..I won’t allow it then…..I’ll kill them. Glen’s enemies are my enemies.)
If left alone Re=L would be comparable to a runaway tank.
This time too  Re=L followed her simple thought patterns…..
“…[I beseech thee creation?grant unto my hands?a great blade]….”
Re=L murmured her favorite high speed sword summoning spell.
Applying alchemy’s [matter transmutation] and [primary element sequence conversion] to instantly summon ultra-high quality weapons….this technique was favored by assassins of a certain organization because of its ability to allow them to sneak in and conjure any weapon based on their needs, its name was [Hidden Claw] and fell under the family of assassination magic.
Like usual Re=L was able to activate it as if it was as easy as breathing for her.
Particles of light started to gather in Re=L’s empty right hand and her usual great sword started to form….
(For the time being these strange people are harrassing Glenn….I’ll crush them.)
At this time both Sistine and Rumia were too preoccupied with the situation concerning Glenn so they had no idea of Re=L’s rash behavior.
Without a safety, Re=L was merely a gun firing recklessly.
An exchange student causing bodily harm while studying abroad ?? Re=L would certainly be sent home before finishing even her first day. But at that time.
“Re=L…..what’s wrong?”
“Ah”
Elsa stepped in front of Re=L who had taken a step forward.
“It kinda feels like you have a scary look on your face? ….Are you okay?”
Re=L reflexively cancelled her high speed sword summoning spell in front of the anxious Elsa. The great sword that started to materialize began its decomposition back into particles of light.
“….I got a bit angry….everyone is harassing Glenn.”
“I see….Re=L loves Renn-sensei don’t you?”
“Nn. I love Glenn. That’s why I’ll protect Glenn. Defeat anyone who harasses Glenn. Thats why…..move Elsa.”
“Is that so….But Re=L. Why don’t you have some more faith in Renn-sensei?”
“!”
“I’ve only known the professor for a short amount of time but….I already know that she’s an amazing person. I’m sure that the professor already has thought of something to do….?”
“……….”
Listening to Elsa’s words Re=L remained silent.
“If you cause a problem right now won’t you for sure be kicked out of school? If that happens I’m sure Renn-sensei would be sad, also….”
Elsa stared straight at Re=L and said with a smile.
“I was able to meet you and luckily we got placed in the same class…..I thought we could become good friends…I don’t want you to drop out…..”
And then with a hard to read expression, Re=L looked over Elsa for a short while as if she were some type of exotic animal….
“….Nn. Got it. I’ll do what Elsa says. …..I’ll believe in Glenn.”
Re=L reluctantly starts to settle down.
Elsa gave an endearing smile to Re=L.
Unaware of the danger of Re=L being expelled on her first day ??
“Anyways, is this really how the Alzano Imperial Magic Academy is? An unrefined academy out in the countryside where overzealous students study together? I refuse to be instructed by a professor from such a place!”
“I’m in agreement. Us nobles are entrusted to protect our nations and what we require is the [power] to do so. And currently [magic] is the greatest [power] in the world….In other words, the title of [magician] appropriately belongs to us nobles… “
Colette and Francine threw words of mockery towards Glenn.
“I mean, isn’t the [magic] you guys study just you playing pretend? It’s not even real magic. It’s about as useful as listening to a commoner shit.”
“In order to become proper [magicians] we need [power], and in order to get power we need actual sophisticated, refined lessons. If you’re able to comprehend that much then it would be much appreciated if you stop being a hindrance.”
In response to that Glenn remained silent. He let them speak as much as they wanted.
“In the first place Renn-sensei. What are you? Acting like a gentleman with your garments and wordage…..that alone is enough of a testimony that you’re not qualified to be a lecturer at this prestigious academy!”
“Even worse is the smell of those three country bumpkins….is the whole of Alzano like that? A gloomy atmosphere filled with a bunch of damn commoners. What can you even study in the countryside like that? Ahh this is such a pain in the ass…..”
As if in agreement with Francine and Colette’s words, their entourage surrounded Glenn and the others and laughed in their face as if they were looking down on them.
“T-These people….! Shut up alrea-“
As expected, Sistine wasn’t able to just sit back and take it and was about to take action…..but at that time.
“Hehehehe…..”
Glenn let out a fearless laughter….gently gripping Colette’s hands on his collar with his left hand, and pinching Francine’s saber held against his neck with his right hand….
The very next second.
“Huh what…..?”
“Wh-….!? Y-You….when did you…..!?”
Colette’s hands were removed, and Francine had her saber robbed from her.
Glenn threw away the stolen saber and straightened out his disheveled clothes before saying.
“I see I see, [power] huh….well why not I guess? My recommendation is you guys just get bent then, if you really want [power] just do as you like….hahahaha!”
“W-What was wrong with what I said!?”
Francine rushed to catch her thrown saber while becoming increasingly flustered.
“Hmm how should I explain it…..If you guys are that persistent on obtaining [power], the way to use a gun isn’t just frantically practicing till you’re on deaths door, but also understanding the method of operation, tactics, and even the mechanism of the gun, and then from there you can make even stronger guns to do anything you want….somehow it feels like you guys are half assing it….”
“I may not understand the meaning of what you said…..but I at least know when I’m being insulted.”
“Oi you dumbass…you got some nerve saying that in this situation….Ehh!? Tryna’ start a fight….!?”
A fighting aura seemed seep out from both White and Black Lily students alike….
“Mmm….then how about we try this?”
Seeing the situation unfold, Glenn didn’t back down and let out a fearless smile.
“The Alzano Imperial Magic Academy that you guys claim is so stupid….and the [useless lessons] and the abilities of the [country smelling students]…..why not test them out then?”
Sistine and Rumia gulped in response to Glenn’s unexpected words.
“Perfect, the next lesson is [Application of Magic in Battle]….A one-on-one duel is no good, an actual battle will be comprised of multiple personnel and requires unit-level tactics. That’s why it’ll be a party battle, against my three students…..how does that sound?”
A party battle. A type of duel between magicians.
A party battle is used to test unit level tactics and how the individuals act on a larger scale, which is different from a one-on-one battle that focuses on the individuals strengths.
Party battles test the ability of pure magical output, teamwork, and instantaneous flexibility and judgement….a type of duel where you can see an individuals true competence in teamwork.
“And in the unlikely chance that these guys lose to you, I’ll leave the academy immediately. But, if they win then you guys will listen to one request of mine no matter what it is…..how does that sound?”
What in the world could Glenn be planning….by purposely provoking them with such a detestable expression on his face?
“Or what? Are you that scared of losing? Hehehe…”
“Hey wait sensei!? What are you deciding on you-“
Even though Sistine frantically forced her way into the conversation…
“Renn-sensei….you sure like to brag don’t you…very well then! To retreat after you said so much would disgrace my noble name, let’s have our fight then!”
“Yes! You’re not gonna regret it are you!? You bastard!”
The situation had already reached a point where neither side could back out….
“Ahh jeez….why did it come to this….”
“Ahahaha…..”
Sistine let out a deep sigh while Rumia let out a vague laugh.
And so.
Within St. Lily Magic Girls’ Academy there was a spacious sporting field and currently all members of the moon class were gathered in a spot cleared of forest and debris.
“Now then, from here on out we’ll start my [Application of Magic in Battle] lesson.”
Glenn shamelessly began his speech in front of the entourage of girls staring daggers at him.
“Aaahh jeez you should be ashamed of yourself….why are you trying to instigate a fight so much….”
“But…thanks to that isn’t everyone participating in sensei’s lesson now?”
Sistine still looked uncomfortable while Rumia let a slight chuckle escape.
“Hmm does that mean Sensei specifically tried to rile them up for that? I wonder….? If so that’s a bit depressing….and unpleasant….”
Sistine had no choice but to let out a sigh.
“Then Sensei. If you would please verify the rules.”
Saying that, Francine let out cocky smile.
“A three-on-three party battle. Under the sub-strike rule set it’ll be limited to non-lethal spells. The usage of training swords and close-quarters-combat is also authorized. A participant will yield if they: lose consciousness, surrender, leave the area, or otherwise an executive decision is made…..does that sound reasonable to you?”
In student battles sub-strikes are a commonplace rule set.
Instead of using spells with a high chance of causing a fatality, the students would use a similar non-lethal spell….that’s what sub-strikes were.
For example, under the sub-strike rule set instead of using the fatal [Lighting?Pierce] one would use the non-fatal [Shock?Bolt] which has a similar range of effect and if they were to take the [Shock?Bolt] without any magical defenses they’d be deemed a [fatality] in this battle.
“Oh that’s fine then.”
Because party battles weren’t particular uncommon Glenn’s rules were pretty much the norm…..
“Ahh but one more thing. …..In this match, even within non-lethal spells….please don’t use flame based spells.”
“No fire spells…..?”
Glenn frowned in confusion at the added set of rules.
Certainty, among non-lethal spells fire spells were a cut above the rest. Despite holding the descriptor of [non-lethal], fire spells still held the risk of causing light burns if they weren’t properly guarded against. Of course if you had healing magic on hand then it’s possible that the burn would heal over just fine but….
(Well…these are young noble girls. They probably don’t want scars on their skin, or their hair frizzled, even temporarily….seriously, they’re so [naive]….)
Ignorant of Glenn’s inner thoughts, Francine continued highhandedly.
“The format might be different but in a way this is a [duel] between magicians….Renn-sensei, we’ll force a vulgar and unrefined person like you out of this academy immediately!”
“Well in the unlikely chance you guys win I’ll do just that! Gyahahahaha!”
Glenn broke out in a hearty laugh and fanned himself in exaggeration.
“…Seriously what a child…..”
Looking at Glenn act in such a way Sistine once again let out sigh in astonishment.
“Well this concerns Re=L so I’ll make sure we win…..”
Sistine gave a quick glance towards Rumia standing quietly nearby.
Re=L = Rayford, operative #7 [The Chariot] of the Imperial Court Mage Corps Special Missions Annex.
Her taking part in a mock student battle in itself is pretty much cheating.
“Ahhh but…..I can’t condone the disrespectful attitudes of those students….now that I think about it isn’t it perfect time to repay them…?”
Those were Sistine’s thoughts.
“Ah right right one more rule. The way it is right now would be too one-sided, so I’m giving you lot a handicap……oi Re=L. How about you’re not allowed to attack the enemy?”
“”What!?””
After hearing what Glenn said Francine’s eye opened in surprise and Colette’s forehead twitched.
Sistine turned to Glenn dumbfounded.
“All you need to do is just stand there. I mean with how the current rules are if you even got a tiny bit serious you might actually kill them. So you can’t get serious at all alright? Not even the least bit!?”
Listening to Glenn’s words, Re=L gave a fleeting uninterested glance between Francine and the others.
“Nn, I got it. They look weak so I’ll follow my gut.”
“Ehh!? Oi short stuff …..you making fun of us….!?”
It seems that Re=L’s frank way of speaking as if she knew the absolute truth wounded the pride of the other girls. Colette was glaring at Re=L like a rabid dog….
“…….?”
And for Re=L, who couldn’t comprehend why she was being glared at, tilted her head in confusion.
“Wa- wait Sensei!? Is she going to be fine!?”
After hearing his unexpected proposal Sistine rushed over to Glenn’s sides.
And whispered in his ear.
“S-Sure if Re=L got serious even Rumia and I aren’t needed to win but….with your handicap won’t that just leave me and Rumia left to fight!? In other words if Rumia and I both lose then wouldn’t we lose the whole match…..no matter what you think about us, but if that happens…..”
Sistine’s eyes darted back and forth anxiously.
“If we lose…..Re=L will have to……”
“….Ha?….. What the hell are you talking about?”
Meanwhile Glenn scratched his head in confusion.
“Err…you really think you guys would lose to people of that level now?”
“….Eh?”
….In the meantime, the preparations for the party battle were more or less finished.
“For the time being we’ll have the pleasure of working together.”
“I am at your service.”
“Tsk….why do I have to work with the White Lily fools?”
Francine, Ginny, and Colette were on one side and then about 10 meters in front of them was Sistine, Rumia, and Re=L.
“It can’t be helped. It was under Renn-sensei’s instructions. It seems that person is intent on separating allies from one another.”
“Haaa……the professor is? Meaning he’s aiming to take advantage of us not getting along!?”
Putting on her studded gloves Colette let out a provocative laugh meant to taunt Glenn.
“If that’s true it’s useless. Haaa……is that how you bastards act over at Alzano?”
“No that’s not quite correct.”
With a reproachful look in his eyes Glenn waves his hand back and forth.
“In my opinion you three are the strongest in the class.”
“Oh? You don’t have the worst of eyes do ya now…..”
“So you decided to pick a fight with the big guy on the block and after you win it’d be smooth sailing huh?”
Glenn couldn’t help but rub his forehead due to how much stress Francine and Colette were causing him…
“Oi Francine….Let’s forget about the cliques for a second. First we need to silence this professor before she can say anything more….”
“……I’m in agreement.”

Part 2
And so, the participating students scattered throughout the field as Glenn gave the signal to start.
Sistine’s side formed a triangle formation with Re=L as it’s vanguard.
And Francine’s side formed an inverted triangle with Ginny and Colette as their vanguards.
Both are the standard formations used in most three-on-three duels.
“First take out their vanguard, Ginny!”
“Yes! Thank you for your support Milady!”
At Francine’s behest Ginny immediately stepped forward and dashed along the ground.
And following her sprint, she jumped into the air, twisting her body and after performing an aerial somersault, she stuck a landing. Amplified by the white magic [Physical?Boost], Ginny appeared in front of Re=L after executing cat-like maneuvers.
And she was grasping short swords in each of her hands.
Ginny and Re=L. A small gap dividing them. Approximately three feet.
“Amazing! Ginny might have some real skill in close quarters combat!”
“Yeah, it was a beautiful movement….”

After Ginny performed her magnificent aerobatics, Sistine and Rumia couldn’t help but gaze in amazement.
“Hehe, it seems your out of luck, Renn-sensei. Our esteemed academy focuses not only academics but also physical ability. We’re not such weak people who simply stay inside and study behind a desk all day like your academy.”
“Now then, Re=L…..was it? I wonder how long she’ll last?”
Colette gave Francine a haughty smile.
And in the outfield where the spectators were….
“Kyaahh! Ms. Francine!?”
“Ginny! Let’s run those countryside bumpkins back to where they belong!”
Their surrounding entourage screamed out and cheered for their fellow students…..
“Re=L….”
Elsa held her hands to her chest and anxiously stared at Re=L.
“I’m sorry for this, Re=L.”
Ginny who was preparing to confront Re=L, dispassionately called out to her.
“I don’t really want to do this but…..it’s Milady’s order so I can’t hold back.”
“Nn. I see.”
Compared to Ginny who lowered her center of gravity ready to spring at a moments notice, Re=L stood up straight, unprepared.
“The truth is I’m actually from a village that passes down the secret Eastern [ninja] artes…..”
Bouncing on the balls of her feet, Ginny was currently looking for any gaps in the drowsy looking Re=L’s defense…..
“I might be a novice compared to the rest of my family, but I’m still pretty proud of my skills as they are right now….”
At first glance it seemed that Re=L’s whole posture was a gap in itself but…..
“…..Ah. It’s useless.”
Due to the fact of Ginny being a decently skilled practitioner herself, she was more or less able to instantaneously guess the power difference of opponents, hence the reason why right now there was a line of sweat along her forehead and she let out a groan.
“Uhmm…Re=L-san…..what exactly are you?”
“Nn. Re=L.”
“No no….I don’t mean like that…..”
Ginny found herself standing in front of a terrible monstrosity.
The truth of the matter was that Ginny was actually quite shaken up and barely able to contain it….
“What do you think you’re doing Ginny!? Hurry up and fight!”
Hearing Francine’s voice rise behind her, she just sighed in exasperation.
“…..I see. When Renn-sensei told you not to take this seriously…..I’m really appreciative for that. Now then…..I’ll be grateful if you’re willingly to instruct this lowly practitioner.”
“Nn. I don’t have any breast though.” (TN I forget the phrase Ginny used but it had the word breast/chest in it and meant to practice/spar with someone. Re=L probably didn’t know the meaning and took it literally.)
And the very next second.
*Shuba!*
Ginny rushed forward at such a speed that she turned into a blur, almost as if she were gliding across the ground.
It looked like she was going for an attack at Re=L’s feet but then just as soon disappeared into a haze.
“Haaaaaaaa!”
And then the very next moment she appeared upside down over Re=L.
After jumping high in the air, she executed an overhead surprise attack as fast as lighting.
All the spectators were amazed by the physical ability and techniques of someone who was still considered a student.
Crossing her short swords, Ginny’s blades gave off a silver flash…..
“Nn”
Without even looking, Re=L made a slight movement so that the attack couldn’t even graze her.
“Tch….”
Missing her first attack, Ginny instantly twisted her body in mid air and while landing on her left hand and using it as a pivot point, she unleashed a whirlwind kick ??
However, Re=L had already taken a step back just out of her range.
Using the momentum of her failed kick, Ginny quickly corrected her posture and brandished her swords.
Ginny’s ultra-fluid movements definitely set her apart from being a mere student……
“….Haha the way it is right now I’m once again very thankful you’re not attacking…..”
Ginny couldn’t help but bitterly smile at how the current situation was unfolding.
“Ms. Re=L…..judging from your footwork and body positioning, you’re an expert in swordsmanship aren’t you? If you’ll allow me to ask you an awkward question but…..since we’ve started fighting…..how many times would you have been able to send my head flying?”
“Nn….I dunno. Maybe three times?”
Ginny gave a bitter smile to Re=L who responded so carefreely.
“Sigh….. it would be great if I could make you even the least bit serious……haa!”
And once more Ginny began her onslaught against Re=L ??
“Ginny! Why on earth are you messing around!?”
Shouting hysterically, Francine was unable to hide her frustration.
Ginny was attacking Re=L incessantly without even giving her time to take a breath.
Thrusting, a reverse slash from the shoulder down, uppercut slices, a reverse left handed slice leading into a thrust with the right hand, it was like she was a whirlwind ??
Raging fiercely and destroying anything in its path.
However Re=L was able to lazily evade that storm. It was Ginny who was frantically moving place to place while Re=L hardly moved an inch from her original position.
“…..N-No way…..”
“G-Ginny is as strong as Colette-neesan in close quarters…..”
The girls on the sidelines were dumbfounded by this unexpected development….
“Amazing….”
Elsa also stared at Re=L in bewilderment.
“Tch….that midget!”
Grinding her teeth in frustration, Francine grasped the hilt of her saber.
Planning on deploying magic from afar while Ginny cut deep into the front lines and kept them busy….that’s how Francine envisioned them winning, but Re=L quickly shattered that expectation.
“Seriously, are you really that weak now damn Ginny?”
Colette grumbled that while pounding her hands together.
“That blue ….Re=L? Was her name? No matter how you look at it she isn’t some weakling.”
“Tch….I-I-I’m sure that person is just some amateur and Ginny is merely playing around!”
“Well that just might be possible….but doesn’t she leave a bad taste in your mouth?”
Saying that, Colette let out a sigh and shifted her gaze to the other side of the field where Ginny and Re=L were fighting.
And her sharp gaze settled on Sistine and Rumia who were standing at the ready.
“Well I don’t get who exactly that midget is but she’s busy right now, and from the beginning she was ordered not to fight. If we beat those two down then it’ll be fine.”
“W-Well……that’s right. Hmm, very well then, first we should give them a light greeting…..”
Pulling herself together, Francine thrust out her left palm towards Sistine and Rumia.
And started to haughtily recite the black magic [Shock?Bolt]’s incantation.
“[Thunder sprites, shock!]”
Lighting was gathering on Francine’s fingertips, and she was about to release it like an arrow…..
But at that time.
“[Disperse!]”
*Pang!*
And as if they had expected it, a [Tri?Vanish] had be sent flying towards Francine.
Any spell that had been countered by another would turn into particles of magic and disperse like a cloud.
If one were to look at the other side they would see Sistine pointing her finger towards them.
“…… Hehehe! That was pretty fast counter-spell! But how about this!?”
Francine might’ve been temporarily shocked by Sistina’s skillful counterattack, but she immediately pulled herself together and started to recite a spell.
“[Thunder spirits!]”
Compared to earlier, Francine’s spell was leagues faster.
However ??
“[Disperse!]”
*Pang!*
Sistine once again launched her counter-spell.
“Hmm ?? how impudent! “[Thunder sprites, shock!]”
With a clear display of agitation on her face, Francine began running to the side while reciting her spell again.
In response to her sudden movement, Sistine turned her left hand towards Francine ??
But Francine’s spell had never activated.
“!”
Sistine who was targeting Francine, stiffened up.
(It was fake. If I shift the timing then you’re unable to counter it right?)
With a smile on her face, Francine shouted her favorite spell ??
“[Thunder sprites, shock!]”
“[Disperse!]”
*Pang!*
Undisturbed by her attempt at faking the timing, Sistine easily countered the spell.
“Wh- you were able to read my fake!?”
Francine was completely petrified by the unexpected surprise.
“Ahh jeez! [Heed my call?great wind!]”
And then. Colette cast the magic spell [Gale?Blow]
Flaming heat, blistering cold, and electric shocks were born from manipulating the natural occurring elements in matter. That is why [Tri?Vanish] is able to reduce them to nothing.
And that is also why [Tri?Vanish] was unable to disperse wind magic.
(It seems that you’ve been able to deal with that idiot who doesn’t learn from her mistakes, lets see how you deal with this!?)
“[Atmospheric wall!]”
However, reading her like a book, Sistine activated the magic [Air?Screen].
“?? Isn’t that way too much!?”
A strong barrier of air protected Sistine, and the spell glossed over her like a small gust of wind.
“Such insolence…[Power, return to nothing]!”
Francine quickly recited the spell [Dispel?Force], a counter spell which dispels sustained spell effects such as enchantment or barriers.
The effect of that spell caused the air barrier around Sistine to be blown away ??
“Now! [White winter storm]!”
“Eat this! [White winter storm]!”
Francine and Colette both recited the chant for the black magic [White?Out] at the same time.
And this time they weren’t just aiming at Sistine, but Rumia as well.
(No matter how good you are at counter-spells you can’t handle this much??)
(Let’s see you try to defend from two spells at once!?)
Rumia and Sistine were mercilessly assaulted by a bombardment of a blistering cold wave.
Under the substitute?rule [White?Out] replaced the spell [Ice?Blizzard].
(Lethal judgment is inevitable! With this at least one of them has to go down!)
But.
“[Shine my protective barrier!]”
And as if she understood the situation, Sistine used the magic [Force?Shield].
A magical barrier of light with a hexagonal pattern was erected in front of the two to protect them.
Black magic [Air?Screen] and black magic [Force?Shield].
Although they were similar defense spells, there was a difference in their nature. Unlike [Air?Screen] which needed a designated target, [Force?Shield] was based on coordinates. Where it was, the length and width of it, what shape they wanted, all of those the user needed to input the numerical values of the coordinates themselves.
The fact that such a time-consuming spell such as [Force?Shield] was quickly deployed to an extent over such a wide area so as to negate the effects of two [White?Outs] means that ??
“….You read our next moves again…..?”
“Who are these people…..”
They were in a situation where no matter what they try they’d just get shot down.
Somethings wrong here. Thinking that the sides of Francine and Colette’s cheeks started to stiffen up….
“Uhm, I wonder what’s wrong….?”
And on the other side, Sistine was awkwardly tilting her head in confusion.
“How should I say it….but those two are pretty easy to understand….”
“Is that right?”
Responding to Sistine’s murmuring, Rumia looked a bit doubtful.
“Yeah….sure their casting speed was pretty fast but…..the moment they’re going to recite a spell, or when they’re faking, or shifting their timing, or even their next spell…..those aspects of them are pretty easy to predict. I wonder if they’re doing this on purpose to throw us off our guard?”
“Hey Sisti, aren’t you just exceptional? I don’t understand that stuff at all…..”
“You didn’t take up the path of magic to fight to begin with…..[Disperse!]”
*Pan!*
Once again Sistine countered a spell thrown at her in the midst of a conversation with Rumia, treating the magic battle like it wasn’t a priority.
(….Speaking of which, Sensei did say something…..something like that in a real battle one uses both fists and magic.)
Glenn’s special early morning training for Sistine still continued to this day.
Since then she’s been taught some military magic as well being instructed on fighting techniques.
At the beginning she was being beaten down one-sidedly, but recently she’s been able to last a bit longer. Able to make attacks that would occasionally leaving Glenn saying [Not too shabby] with praise.
(I wonder if I’ve got the hang of it a bit now? Being able to read the flow of battle and find the time to strike….)
“….It wasn’t just due to my training.”
While watching the magic battle, Glenn could guess at what Sistine was silently thinking and let out a chuckle.
“You wouldn’t get that far with just some CQC training. If that was the only thing needed then even those noble brats with their fencing lessons…..and the rest of gifted education they receive…..but….”
Glenn gave a fleeting glance towards Sistine who was so easily exchanging spells.
“Remember how much you’ve desperately struggled till now, your knees weak, tears filling your eyes, just to desperately cling to life in the midst of a fight? The type of people you’ve fought on even grounds so far? Hahaha…..and today your opponents are a group of sheltered noble brats.”
Glenn was broadly grinning.
“Although there’s still some ways before I’ll be able to trust my back to you if push comes to shove, well you’re still merely a chick.”
Although Glenn was boasting to no one but himself, he still seemed somewhat happy and proud.
“Damn it!! Just who is this person!?”
Colette reflexively cursed during the exchanging of magic.
Sistine was able to read, counter, and guard against any spelled they fired…..
*Bachi!*
Even more so, she was able to launch counterattacks as well.
Firing purple lighting herself, Sistine was able to hit Colette’s left hand directly.
“So hot!?  Damn it!! I can still go! It hasn’t ended yet! I still have [Tri?Resist] applied!?”
“Even with that though, if you got hit with [Lighting?Pierce], would you be able to use magic with your left hand? If this were a real battle you’d be as good as dead! Well I’ll overlook it this time!”
Listening to Glenn’s instigation, a vein on Colette’s forehead started to throb violently again.
And during the exchanging of magic which heated up once more ??
“Rumia!”
“I’m ready Sisti! [Scream towards the empty sky?……]”
Receiving Sistine’s signal, Rumia began to recite a three verse long spell ??
“Tsk now it’s that bastards turn!? [Thunder sprites], [Thunder sprites!]”
“Like I’ll let you! [Heed my call?great wind!]”
In order to interrupt Rumia’s spell-casting the pair used short one verse spells.
A combination of lighting and a ferocious wind were fired towards Rumia.
(Now give up on that ignorant spell-casting and try to flee! When you do that I’ll ??)
(During that time I’ll attack ??)
However ??
“[……?thy reverberation?…..”
Even when she was in a situation where two spells were hurling towards her, Rumia neither attempted to escape nor panic, she merely continued gazing steadily forward while reciting the verses ??
“Wh-….!?”
“You’re not running away!? Are you a dumb-ass…..!? But with this it’s our victory….”
As the spells were about to directly hit Rumia ?? just half a second before that.
“[Shine my protective barrier!]”
*Shakin!*
The magical barrier of light once again reappeared in front of Rumia.
And following Sistine’s defensive spell.
Completely protected by the barrier, Rumia was on the verge of completing her spell……
[…..?Wind spirits, howl!]”
Rumia completed her incantation just as the other side’s magic exploded on the magical barrier right before her eyes.
Black magic [Stun?Ball].
A compressed air bullet was fired towards Francine and Colette ??
“Kyaaaaa ??!?”
“Uwaaaah??!?”
Not even having the luxury to correct their mana?biorhythm, Francine and Colette had no choice but to run away.
*Zun!*
The impact of the explosion left a deafening shock.
Although they were able to avoid a direct hit, the aftereffects rattled them.
“The substitute for [Stun?Ball] is [Blaze?Burst]……hmm….you guys were barely able to hang on….though if this was a real fight you’d be long dead by now.”
Unfortunately, Francine nor Colette had the leeway of being able to listen to Glenn’s sarcasm anymore.
“Damn it….are you serious….!?”
No matter what they did, no matter what they planned. It had backfired.
Both of them started to get irritated at this hopeless situation.
“Not just the girl called Sistine but also that Rumia brat!?”
At first glance Rumia appeared to be someone not too competent at casting spells. And it’s true that when compared to Sistine, she was a small fry…..that’s only if she’s by herself though.
But how about in this situation?
“A spell was coming at her head on, how was she able to calmly continue her chant!?”
“Who the hell…..is that girl over there….?”
Rumia had the mental composure to be able to finish her spell-casting to the end, even in the face of danger. Thanks to that, as long as she has a shield she could do whatever she wanted.
And on the opposite side, it left them with even fewer options now.
And of course Sistine’s follow up was perfectly coordinated as well. It was like they were on the same wavelength, being able to understand one another as easily as breathing.
“Rumia! Next I’ll use [Flash?Light] for my third spell! And then immediately after that start chanting the spell for [Stun?Ball] again! Shoot it without hesitating! Follow my lead!”
“Yeah! Got it, Sisti!”
“Let’s go! [Lighting spirits] ?? [Two more shots] ?? [And now three]!”
“[Dazzling sunlight!]…..suu….[[Scream towards the empty sky……]”
It’s true that in regards to pure combat ability, Rumia’s level was pretty low…..but by acting as Sistine’s right hand, who had the capability to read the flow of battle, she was a force to be reckoned with.
“Kuu…she’s attacking again!?”
“Damn it, what’s up with that woman! And she’s supposed to be small fry….!?”
“Haha…..I should’ve said it already, but magic is a technique which reflects the state of the mind unto reality.”
Glenn shrugged his shoulders in front of Francine and Colette who were currently being lead around by their noses.
“Being able to control your emotions in a mentally draining situation, when the grim reaper is right before your eyes….that’s a pretty rare talent…..well you guys wouldn’t understand what kind of life she’s had.”
The spectating students were left dumbfounded at the fact that Sistine’s team was overpowering Francines. And even more so, that Glenn was gloating on the sidelines.
With beast like movements Ginny was jumping about trying to land an attack on Re=L.
“Haaaaaaa!”
Going from a sprint to a light jump, her abdomen twisting in midair.
Ginny was able to let out four ultrahigh speed slashes while rotating at the apex of her jump.
And an unusual flash was hidden among them.
A total of four slashes + one silver light instantaneously flooded Re=L’s vision….
“Nn”
Without any danger, Re=L stepped forward and slipped though gaps in her attack.
“….Even that didn’t work huh? That was more or less a killing technique for when you first sight your target.”
Ginny quickly corrected her posture and retreated to a distance.
“Please let me know. My technique just now….how did you dodge it?”
“….Intuition.”
What could she do in front of this opponent even farther removed from the norm than she was?
But it was Ginny who felt refreshed during this exchanging of blows.
“Tch…no matter what it takes….I’ll make sure my attack reaches you…..!”
“[Thunder spirits]! Ginny! How long do you plan to mess around!? Quickly defeat that child and give us support!”
As the exchanging of spells continued, Francine screamed like she was at her wits end at Ginny who lost herself in fighting Re=L.
“[Atmospheric wall!] No, that blue one called Re=L…..it turns out she’s a pretty skilled user….! I completely mistook her as an amateur…”
Re=L was under a handicap. With that in mind Colette thought that Ginny would be enough take down Re=L by herself, but now she regrets not teaming up with Ginny to take her down immediately.
“W-What are you doing!?”
“Tch, I don’t have any choice!”
With her studded gloved hands at the ready, Colette frantically rushed towards Re=L.
“I’ll attack the midget from the side while she’s busy with Ginny and take her down!”
Amplified by the white magic [Physical?Boost], her running speed was comparable to a rabid beast. Her instantaneous speed might even be greater than Ginny’s.
“That fast!? Tch…[Thunder spirits]! [Second shot]! [And a third!]”
Sistine reacted immediately and sent out three [Shock?Bolts] ??
“Ha! How naive could you be!? I knew you’d aim here!!”
While still maintaining her speed, Colette was able to dodge the purple lighting by turning her body left and right.
She quickly closed the distance to Re=L who had her hands full with Ginny (or at least that’s how it appeared) ??
“[White ice spirit?dance?in the palm of my hand]??”
After finishing her short chant, white frost began to gather and swirl in Colette’s left hand.
Colette brutally attacked Re=L’s unguarded back with her fist covered in ice ??
“Go… to…..hellllllllllllllll!”
And with that the match was decided.
“It’s gone just as expected, I kind of feel bad … “
“What do you mean? Sisti?”
“Well whatever. We’ll be troubled if we lose ….so let’s just end it?”
*Ban!*
“Uwooooooooo!?”
The ground beneath her feet suddenly exploded. Colette was blown into the air by the force of explosion.
And the true identity of the attack that assaulted Colette’s feet was a spell by the name of [Stun?Floor].
A mine-type magic trap that’s commonly used in suppressing rioters, using sound shock waves and air vibrations, Rumia had secretly cast the spell in advance under Sistine’s directions.
Due to being placed in Re=L’s vicinity, the activation method wasn’t [conditional activation] where it would automatically activate when someone passed over it, but Rumia’s [discretionary activation].
Thanks to Sistine’s three [Shock?Bolts], Colette was successfully led to the place where the [Stun?Floor] trap had been set up??
“??Shit!?”
She fell face first and struck the ground.
“The substitute for [Stun?Floor] is [Burn?Floor] ?? without a doubt this counts as a fatality.”
“C-Colette!?”
Francine was trembling in shock. At that moment Francine’s undivided attention was on her teammate falling flat on the ground ?? and that was a fatal mistake for her.
“[Heed my call great wind!]”
*Don!*
And without a moment’s delay, fired by Sistine, a [Gail?Blow] hit Francine head on without her even having time to prepare a defense.
“Kyaaaaaaaaa!”
Francine was blown away by the sudden violent gusts ??
And as a result Francine was thrown over the white line that determined the field boundaries.
“Still wanna go at it?”
Re=L said to Ginny.
Both Ginny and Re=L had a cool, calm looking expression on their faces, but while Ginny was dripping in sweat and struggling to catch her breath, Re=L wasn’t.
Furthermore, Ginny’s chance of winning in this 3-on-1 situation was next to nil.
“Tch….”
However, Ginny remained silent and lowered her center of gravity ready to spring towards Re=L….
“Alriiight that’s enough ?”
But the sound of Glenn clapping marked the end of the match.
“It’s bad to get too caught up, Ginny……isn’t this already enough?”
Glenn was exchanging glances with the expressionless Ginny who seemed dissatisfied with the outcome of the match.
“Well, I guess you’re right. I surrender. Ahh I’m tired.”
And so Ginny immediately returned to her usual self and started to complain.
“Well that settles it, it’s our side’s victory!”
Glenn turned his head towards Francine and Colette.
“Ugh…impossible….there’s no way this noble I would…..”
“S-Shit….you’re lying…just like that…damn…”
Meanwhile, Francine and Colette were busy lamenting their fate on the ground. It seemed that neither of them were able to get up yet due to still being affected by the spells.
However, both of them seemed to be more affected by the shock of defeat. After all, they can’t even say they put up a decent fight. From the beginning they were being led around by their noses and by the end suffered a complete defeat.
And so….
“You’re kidding….Ms. Francine…lost so easily….?
“C-Colette-neesan …couldn’t even do a thing…?”
There were multiple people talking all at once…..witnessing such an overbearing defeat by their beloved idols, the female students all nervously exchanged glances with one another.
“Now then….with that said. Next.”
Glenn turned back to look at spectating girls.
“””…..Ehhh?”””
And after immediately hearing that, the expressions of the girls turned pale and they stiffened up.
“Didn’t you hear me? I said next. Start the next match. The next three people that think they’re good enough should hurry up and start. Or should I pick people out again? Mmm~?”
Glenn looked like a threatening demon to them.
The girls were frantically shaking their head with tears in their eyes.
After all, the three strongest people in their class were defeated like they were nothing. There’s no way they could win.
“Tch, you guys pretending like you’re already fully grown adults but when push comes to shove….well whatever. For the time being bring those two collapsed on the ground with us.”
“””Y-Yes at once!?”””
In such a situation, the entourage had no choice but to go along with what Glenn said.
And the girls brought Francine and Colette in front of Glenn.
As soon as they dropped them off, the entourage pitifully separated themselves from them….
“Now then. You guys….are seriously gonna abandon them like that….?”
And then Glenn clapped his hands and looked down at Francine and Colette.
“Tch….!?”
“What do you want….!?”
Having their self-confidence completely destroyed, those two were already wallowing in self-pity.
And what kind of attitude have they had towards Glenn till now….they finally realized.
“W-Wait a second, Sensei!? It was my bad! I was in the wrong!”
“G-Ginny!? H-Help me!”
“Ahh that’s impossible. I’m so beat I might just die.”
“Ginnyyyy!? Wait, hasn’t your personality completely changed!?”
“It was already so difficult to act and now there’s various things.”
“Acting!?”
Ignoring such an exchange, Glenn snapped his fingers and scowled at Francine and Colette beneath him.
“Now then. I think it’s teaching time for those damn brats who don’t know how to respect others….I hope you’ve prepared yourself?”
“Hyaaaaaa!? Stop! Please help me!?”
“Wait!? I-If you dare touch me my papa won’t sit back quietly!? I’m being serious!!”
“I hate to break it to you…..I’m not an official at this academy~. To me it doesn’t matter how much influence your guys’ “papas” hold here.”
Francine and Colette had no choice but to hold each other, teary eyed in front of Glenn who gave off a demon like aura.
“Anyways, didn’t we make an agreement earlier….? That if I win you’ll listen to any one thing that I say….now theeen, I wonder what kind of thing I should order…..gehehehe…..”
“”Awaaaaa…..””
Glenn walked one more step towards them, causing them to tremble and curl up further….
“Now then…..first of all you, Francine.”
“Hyaaa y-yes!? I’m sorry! I’m sorry so don’t hurt me!”
All types of emotions could be seen on her face and panicked movements.
“…It’s already too late to try anything.”
Saying that, Glenn pointed at Francine.
“I’m sorry! I’m sorry!…….huh?”
Francine who wholeheartedly prepared herself for a punishment, stared blankly at him.
“In a magic battle, if both sides are matched in skill and combat ability, then it comes down to who can keep their composure and read the flow of battle…that’s the main takeaway. A mage standing on the battlefield needs icy cold judgment. If every time your opponent makes an unexpected move, you blatantly show your emotions and become flustered, you won’t be able to win no matter what you do. In the first place, it’s natural for a mage to have an unexpected trump card that leaves their opponent surprised!”
“H-Haa….?”
As if let down by the lack of punishment, Francine merely blinked her eyes.
“U-Uhm….t-that’s….huh? Aren’t you angry with our behavior….?”
“Haa!? Of course I’m angry about that you idiot!”
“Hiiiii!? I’m sorry!”
In front of the Glenn who flared up once more Francine curled herself up even further.
“Didn’t I already say…that I’m angry? And that you’ll listen to any one thing I say. That’s why make sure you pay attention to my lesson. You guys had an embarrassing battle, so that’s why I’m telling you what went wrong. ‘Kay?”
“Uwaa uuu…..thank you….very much….for your guidance….”
Leaving Francine who finally yielded, Glenn then turned his attention to the dumbfounded Colette.
“Next. Colette. You’re simply too stupid. This idiot is disqualified as a mage.”
“Ugh ….”
“Why did you rush into such an obvious trap? Well in that situation getting rid of Re=L and making it a two-on-three would be the best situation…..is what anyone would think. Even I would think so too. And that’s why you don’t do it. The fact that you yourself want to do that means the enemy would want to avoid it at all costs. That being said, you just dived head in….you’re pretty bad at board games aren’t you?”
“What!? How do you know about that….!?”
Glenn sighs in exasperation while Colette’s cheek stiffens.
“If you want to change a disadvantageous situation, think first of how to surprise your opponent. Don’t fall for the easy road. What a mage requires isn’t power. It’s the wisdom to effectively wield that power.”
And then, Glenn turned his head to Ginny standing far away wearing a cool expression like this was of no concern to her.
“You too Ginny. Don’t you think it was bad how involved you got…..your judgement to stay fighting was also bad. When you found out you had no chance against Re=L why didn’t you retreat? According to the rules you could’ve just ignored her completely.”
“!? …..W-Well….”
For a moment Ginny got choked up on words and then dispassionately said with cold eyes.
“Renn-sensei…. I’m sure you can’t understand it but…As a descendant of a [ninja] family I have something like pride to worry about…”
“You’re right I can’t understand it. If you can’t win then you should retreat as fast as possible. Throw your pride away and think of another way. What was your goal? Was it really….to defeat Re=L?”
Being completely beaten down. Ginny was at a lost for words.
“Since you’re enrolled at this academy then you’re more or less a mage. It’s an embarrassament if a mage can’t even touch their opponent. But if it’s out of your power then come to terms with that embarrassment of not being able to do a thing.”
“…I’m greatly obliged for your opinion.”
And finally, Glenn looked around to the rest of the girls in the moon class who had remained silent till now.
“You guys have a fundamental misunderstanding. Magic is just a colorless power, and mages are just arrogant and sinful people who would distort even the very world for their own wishes and desires. But that means they also have the freedom to do so…..Anyways, seeking the truth and being prideful are just how mages are, and magic is just one of the ways they pursue their desires.”
“……..”
“After all, magic is just one card in a mage’s deck. Whether it be magic, swordsmanship, physical ability, financial power, or political sway….a mage is merely a scholar who uses any card in his deck regardless of it’s nature to achieve his goals….”
And so Glenn looked around and shrugged his shoulders in exasperation.
“I don’t know if it’s some noblesse oblige or you guys are too caught up in yourselves, but you’re spouting a lot of crap of what it means to be an adult, when you’re merely acting like brats. Given just a slightly stronger weapon than usual, you brats are no more than a bunch conceited [magic users]. And as far as I know there’s no [wisdom] that’ll a mere [magic user] be an actual [mage].”
“….Uuu….”
“Furthermore, some of you guys think you’re something special just because you have the power to use magic, but you can’t even realize the truth about yourselves…..far from you guys being able to [use magic], it’s more like that [magic is being used]. It’s true that our academy we have a bunch of nerds that are only good at studying…..but at least the guys I’m teaching, unlike you lot, can call themselves [mages] right?”
The strongest among the students were Francine and Colette.
But they couldn’t do a single thing against Glenn’s pupils. In light of that fact, the girls were hanging their heads down in dejection after having their self-confidence shattered.
“…..Now then. What did you guys say? That there’s nothing I could teach you?”
And with perfect timing….saying that Glenn continued grinning.
“Let’s reconfirm. I can make you guys proper [mages].”
Hearing that, the students who were hanging their head in shame lifted it to look Glenn head on.
“Unfortunately, I can only stay here for a short period of time but….in the meantime I’ll teach you guys what it means to be a [mage]”
“S-Sensei…..?”
“Well if you’re not interested I’m not going to force you to participate in my lessons. But don’t disrupt my class. If you want to have tea or play games or fight then do it somewhere else, just not in the classroom. I don’t really care what you do it’s your life. But … “
Glenn proudly proclaimed that while grinning ear from ear.
“If you guys are willingly to accept me? I’ll show you what real magic is.”
Glenn pompously made such an offer.
There were multiple people talking all at once…..the way the girls perceived Glenn was changing as they talked among themselves.
“W-Wait what are you saying…you’re saying that you’re willingly to overlook rude behavior earlier….?”
“Seriously….till now all the previous teachers have just tried to pander and butter up to us, and we’d just oppressively put them down or outright ignore them….that’s how it’s been like….”
“This person…it’s my first time….”
When they first met their eyes were full of disdain and contempt.
“”””S-Sensei…..””””
But now everyone in the class looked at him with complete devotion.
“Huh how simple-minded…..as one would expect from a bunch of girls sheltered from the world….”
But there was just one, Ginny, who complained while a hint of disgust could be heard in her voice.
“Amazing….in just a matter of seconds Sensei was able to win over the hearts of those girls!”
Watching the events unfold right before her eyes, Rumia delightfully said that.
“Do you think Sensei was aiming for this from the beginning….? If so then…..”
Saying that, Sistine gazed at Glenn with with a look of respect in her eyes…..
(Fuhahaha! If I weaken their resolve, shatter their hearts, and then inspire them with my words….ahaha these naive girls are far too easy!)
But the instructor in question let his face loosen up and let out a disgusting smile…..
(Ahh with this I’m looking forward to life from here on out! At any rate, all these cute girls will hold me in high esteem and will come seek me out! I can carelessly walk into the changing room, or the showers with them….won’t I be living the male dream here!? Gyahahaha!)
“Mhh….I can assure you that’s the face of someone think of something bad.”
Within an instant of looking at him, Sistine could more or less guess what kind of trashy thoughts Glenn would be thinking about now.
And then.
“Uhm…S-Sensei….”
“…Hey Sensei…..”
Francine and Colette turned their tear-stained eyes towards Glenn.
“Hmm …..what is it? *I*….I mean, is there anything I can help you with?” (TN Glenn started the sentence using a masculine way to refer to himself and then changed it and used honorifics.)
When it mattered Glenn could give off an elegant lady-like aura.
“Well….until now our behavior was inexcusable….please excuse our rude behavior….”
“‘Sorry teach….well….please forgive us….”
Bashfully. The scene of two girls barely audibly muttering such words while turning their blushing faces to the sides could be seen.
“Education begins with allowing and then forgiving the immaturity of the students….and the educator must only wield their anger for the purpose of improving their students…..since everyone has already repented for their actions and already regrets their mistakes, I no longer have any reason to be angry.”
“That’s nauseating!”
While Glenn was talking sweetly using proper lady-like verbiage, Sistine threw out an insult from the side with disgust in her eyes.
“”””S-Sensei….? “”””
Francine, Colette, and even many other schoolgirls were already madly in love.
“Sensei…..please listen to my request, please instruct us….”
“Ahh that’s right….please guide these immature students of yours….”
“Hehe if that’s your wish then very well ??”
Glenn replied with a satisfied smile on his face…..but at that time.
“….of my esteemed [White Lily] clique!”
“…of our [Black Lily] clique!”
The words of Francine and Colette ran perfectly counter to one another.
“….Eh?”
Right away Glenn had a bad feeling welling up in his chest and a sweat started to break out along his forehead.
“….Huh? Just now….what did you dare say, Colette……?”
“Now then….I feel like I just heard something strange….? Francine…?”
Francine and Colette immediately started to butt heads with one another.
And following the usual logic, the group of girls split into two and started to flare at each other.
“Colette….there’s simply no way I can understand the ignorance you’re spouting….”
And suddenly with a great amount of force. Francine clung to Glenn’s right hand.
“Renn-sensei will be the one to enlighten our faction. She’s a person who is a master of nobility and sophistication…..”
“O-Oi….?”
“Haha! Don’t say such stupid things, Francine.”
And suddenly with a great amount of force. Colette clung to Glenn’s left hand.
“Cause this Renn-sensei will be the head of us got it? If this is what Sensei is like then I’ll let her follow us….no, we’ll be honored to follow her!”
With a beauty yanking either side of him….
“That huuuurtsss!?”
And so, they continued their game of tug-a-war with Glenn acting as the rope.
“Ehh!?”
Seeing Glenn in such a state, Sistine’s cheek twitched….
“Renn-sensei! You’re not allowed to go out with that type of girl! Please look only at us! Please become my older sister!”
“Sensei! Don’t be involved with such detestable girls! Won’t you come with us!? Let’s exchange vows to become sisters!? Won’t that be wonderful!?”
(TN In gangs/groups they’ll sometimes refer to the older/senior people as elder brother/sister as a sign of respect or servitude, Colette’s clique does that while Francine’s clique uses the standard “-san”. So not an actual older sister but yeah you get it.)
“Why are you guys crowding around so much!? Ouch that hurts ya’know!?”
And then??
“Everyone! Let’s assist Ms. Francine!”
“We’re helping Colette-neesan!”
The members of each faction, in full force, gathered behind their respective leaders and formed a line…..
*Gui gui gui gui gui gui gui gui gui gui gui gui ??!*
“You idiooots!? Is this some kind of joke!? Do you wanna tear me apart!?”
…..A grand tug of war contest had started with Glenn at it’s center.
“Y-y-you [that’s?enough?from you guyssssssss!!]”
And then, strangely enough, Sistine unleashed a spell with a frustrated yell ??
“”””Kyaaaaaah ??!?””””
“Why me too!?”
A great wind blew off Glenn and the students in one go ??
Glen and the others who had started the fuss …
“…………”
Re=L was gazing at that scene a bit off to the side standing by herself.
It seemed like Glenn was in a violent situation like usual, but unlike before, Re=L didn’t start to summon a sword to cut them down. Compared to that time, this time she didn’t seem all that uncomfortable.
Rather ??
“Good work, on the match. Re=L.”
At that time. Elsa brought over a towel and a jug full of water.
“……It might be a bit unnecessary for Re=L, but…..here.”
Else hung the towel over Re=L’s head and poured some water into a ceramic cup and offered it to her.
“….Nn. Thanks.”
Re=L took the cup of water and began to drink it bit by bit.
“But I didn’t know Re=L was that amazing! You’re really strong!”
Flush full of excitement, Elsa gave off a radiating vibe.
“…Is that so?”
“Yeah! I was watching you the whole time. You wouldn’t let a single one of Ms. Ginny’s attacks get to you. I was so shocked!”
Re=L gazed at Elsa’s smiling face while she innocently praised her.
And strangely enough it wasn’t a bad feeling for her.
“……………..”
Before long, Re=L set the cup on the ground and began to scrub her face with the towel Elsa gave her, making sure to get all the sweat off.
……Somehow, Re=L felt just a little bit embarrassed.
