"Still not at my limit." Xu Xiang slew the last wolf and contemplated silently. "I'll pull 5 next."
Xu Xiang knew that his strength was more than just three wolves. It could have been said that fighting the three wolves was just warm-up for him just now. As the monsters' quantity increased, Xu Xiang felt the pressure on him multiply. It was not as relaxed and easy as before, but he was still not hard-pressed. Blue-eyed wolves were merely monsters. They did not know how to cooperate with one another. If they did, Xu Xiang may as well have packed up and left.
3 minutes. Xu Xiang dropped the last of the 5 wolves. This time, Xu Xiang decided to be bolder and increased the number to 10. 10 blue-eyed wolves was basically a cardio exercise cranked up to intense level. Xu Xiang could barely dodge the huge number of attacks, and his opportunities to attack lessened by a lot. Fortunately, Xu Xiang still remembered how to pull monsters in such a way that they would block each other. However, he had almost not opportunities to attack.
Xu Xiang trained his dodging while gaining the experience from killing monsters. Whether it was his experience for levelling or his experience with the game, they were both increasing. Cut, hack, slash, Xu Xiang did not know how many times he swung his dagger, nor how many hours he spent, but eventually, he killed the 10 blue-eyed wolves.
Xu Xiang's rear dropped to the ground with a 'thud' as he collapsed with exhaustion, breathing shallowly. He had made a mental list of all his inadequacies during his fight with the 10 blue-eyed wolves and began to sift through the list as he reviewed them for future improvement.
Unknown to Xu Xiang, in a dark corner lay a thoroughly shocked player. He watched Xu Xiang with wide eyes. A player who had not reached level 5 fighting 10 level 5 monsters simultaneously was flabbergasting.
Xu Xiang realised with a start, that the grasslands were unusually silent. His gaze rose and fell onto the colossal silhouette of a beast. It was the wolf king!
The wolf, by inherent nature, was cunning. Even in the game, they were programmed so. The wolf king had initially planned to mount an ambush on Xu Xiang, but had been detected by Xu Xiang. All hesitation evaporated as it bounded towards Xu Xiang, its velocity rapidly increasing. Like an F1 automobile, it accelerated from 0 to 100 in a matter of seconds. If this was reality, it would be an instant kill!
Sitting still and waiting for the wolf king to get to him was suicidal. Xu Xiang drew both his legs to his chest and kicked himself up into a standing position.* He darted towards the wolf king swiftly. An almost human smile formed on the wolf king's muzzle as it saw the comical sight of Xu Xiang meeting it head on. Its smile quickly vanished in the next instant.

Xu Xiang was not foolish enough to collide head on with the wolf king. With the small frame of his, slight contact would send him flying. Xu Xiang leaped into the air. With his agility, he would be able to jump a maximum of 3 yards high and 5 yards in length. Xu Xiang sailed through the air like a basketball in motion, drawing a graceful parabola as he landed on the wolf king's back.
Head of copper, tail of iron, but a back of tofu. For quadrupedal monsters, their weakness was the back!
Xu Xiang landed lightly on the wolf king's back. He plunged his dagger into the back of the wolf king's neck. The wolf king roared painfully. Its roar shook the night. The wolf king had already begun to brake its initial charge. What Xu Xiang did next stopped it in its tracks completely.
5 points of damage floated from the wolf king's head. Xu Xiang's attack was not supposed to be able to break the wolf's king defence, but attacking its weak spot, the back, caused it additional damage. This was barely enough to overcome the defence of the wolf.
Suddenly, a loud roar came from the jaws of the wolf king. It was actually his skill, [Roar].
“Ding~ You have received the effect of the blue-eyed wolf king’s [Roar]. You have been knock-backed by 2 yards.”
The last time Xu Xiang had encountered the wolf king, he had the misfortune of getting killed instantly by it. Xu Xiang shivered. The last time the slill had hit him, he had been killed instantly so the knock-back effect of the skill had not taken effect. However, because he was not directly facing the wolf king this time, the damage had not been doled out to him. Xu Xiang felt a force knock him off the wolf king’s back.

The real fight commenced. The wolf kng was vastly superior to Xu Xiang in terms of attribute. It swiped a massive paw at Xu Xiang. Xu Xiang threw himself to the side. However, the next swipe of the wolf king succeeded the first almost instantly. Xu Xiang felt his HP drop as the wolf king’s claws raked him. A massive ‘142’ points of damage rose from his head. Glancing at his remaining HP, Xu Xiang felt his stomach drop with horror.
“I’m going to die by the paws of this mutt again.” Xu Xiang felt feelings of unreconcilation bubble forth in him. Sure, he was not some sacred warrior, but dying to the same monster twice was shameful to a gamer who had experienced rebirth. “No, there’s still a chance. Heaven never bars one’s way!”
Although the situation was rising in danger by the moment, Xu Xiang felt himself grow increasingly calmer. Xu Xiang stared at the wolf king like it was a stranger. This was Xu Xiang’s 200 per cent concentration mode!
Many mercenaries possessed an occupational disease, known as mind acceleration. When this disease flared up, one would go into overdrive. The mind would suddenly turn cool-headed, and one’s heartbeat rate would increase. It would unlock the greatest potential of the human body. While it seemed great, it was classified as a disease because of its potential lethality.
Because the heart would begin pumping blood at high speed, the body’s need for oxygen would also increase. If one was not careful, one could suffer from asphyxiation and eventually death. The sudden acceleration of blood flow would also make the person undergoing mind acceleration very red. His arteries and veins would broaden. People who were undergoing severe mind acceleration could even have their veins and/or arteries rupture and die from haemorrhage.
When one recovered from the mind acceleration state, he would suffer symptoms such as fatigue and feeling drained. The mind acceleration state placed a huge burden on the body.
Xu Xiang was currently going through this state. His reaction speed and judgment time was going off the charts. Despite his unchanged attributes, XU Xiang's mind was currently operating like a supercomputer. The most optimal time to strike after the enemy moved, the smallest distance needed to move his shoulder to dodge an attack...Xu Xiang had already locked onto the motions of the wolf king.
Xu Xiang did not expect to retain both his experience and the mercenary's disease from his previous life. He did not know if that was considered lucky, but anything goes.

Xu Xiang gulped down a HP potion. Xu Xiang continuously dodged, slowly advancing. His dodging became more and more swifter with every swipe from the wolf. By now, the wolf king was unable to land a blow on Xu Xiang. Xu Xiang's dagger began to fall on the wolf king more and more. The scales of victory were already tilting towards Xu Xiang.
