Chen Zhao watched as the herd of underlings hurriedly cleaned the blood and corpses on the ground. Holding his phone, he answered calmly, “Nope.”

“At night?” Mother asked, stunned.
“I was free anyway,” Chen Zhao said casually.
Many people alighted from the cars. They looked like mercenaries too.
A bearded mercenary in camo wear rubbed his nose, strolled around and looked at the lake.
“Such a strong smell of gunpowder. I think I smell blood,” he said. “Many people died here, right?”
“I was having a party just now. I had some fireworks and I killed a few cows,” Chen Zhao said.
Mother also looked suspicious. She did not believe that nothing had happened.
“Then what’s with the four overturned boats in the lake?” Mother questioned.
“My friends were too drunk. They sailed the speedboats in their madness and were overturned by a rock.”
To be honest, both Mother and the mercenaries smelled something fishy.
It seemed like something had happened here. There was no obvious sign of battle.
But there were still traces of battle. The west wind from the lake brought the faint smell of saltpeter and blood.
