Afterword 

I kept my page count in check while writing this volume so as not to repeat the same mistake I made on Volume 8 of the main series, which ended up making this fifth volume of the side series considerably shorter than its brothers. At any rate, I was able to finish it without any problems. 
Chronologically, I was able to make this book match up with the main series (though a bit of book four worked its way in there, as well). Once again, I’ve been able to throw my characters from this side series together with my characters from the main series, this time in a sort of R and R episode. 
To be quite honest, I didn’t go into this book planning to reveal everything that was going on behind the scenes in the main series. Mostly I was just hoping to continue my original plot for this series, and I ended up having to write and rewrite parts of this volume to ensure nothing was inconsistent with the main books. Still, whenever a spot jumped out at me just begging for a bit of riposte, well…you can be assured I was nothing but smiles as I went with it. 
I tried to be conscious of the events that took place in the previous book, but some of my more minor characters kept popping up with their own subplots, too. As I got to work with a large familia different from that of the main series, I really wanted to take advantage of and dig into the different relationships among all these characters. Seeing the unsung heroes getting their chance to shine, or even just doing something as simple as cooking a meal, is actually quite fun for me. That being said, I couldn’t let them steal the show from the main characters, either. 
So long as we’re on the topic of side characters, the new manga version of Sword Oratoria, written by Takashi Yagi and currently being serialized by GanGan Joker, has a number of characters of its own who have been reimported into the series (with my permission, of course!). You may have a bit of fun comparing the two side by side in search of these hidden gems. 

And on that note, let me segue into my thank-yous for this volume. 
I’ll start off with Takashi Yagi, who’s turning my words into a wonderful series of pictures in the manga version of my series, which is something sure to make any author pleased as punch—thank you. I was more than happy to consent to your reimportation of those aforementioned scenes and characters. Then, of course, my editors, Otaki and Takahashi, as well as my illustrator, Kiyotaka Haimura, who once again colored my book with his fantastic illustrations. I’d also like to thank my dear Akamitsu Awamura, who gave me permission to use some of his ideas. I look forward to coming up with hilariously painful aliases together with you again. 
And, of course, I’d like to express my utmost gratitude to you, my readers, who continue to read my poorly written blatherings. 
Lately, I’ve begun receiving fan mail from some of you. I can’t even begin to describe how happy it makes me to read them, so I just wanted to thank you from the depths of my heart. It seems I worried a number of people when I spoke of my recent weight loss in my afterword for book seven of the main series, but let me assure you that I’m now eating so much rice that I’m liable to die from it in order to get my weight back up. Your dear author is doing just fine. I’m sorry for upsetting you. 
I’m thinking my next book will be a story focused on the Amazonian twins. I’ll do my best to deliver it as soon as possible, so I hope you, too, will do your best to read it.
