AFTERWORD

Hullo, Kumo Kagyu here! Did you enjoy Goblin Slayer Volume 15?

In this story, goblins appeared on the open plain, so Goblin Slayer had to slay them.

I put my all into writing it, so I hope you had fun!

There are several recurring ideas and images in this volume, be it ave, Caesar! the “horse” races, or Sherlock Holmes. And at the heart of it all is “Leave it to the adventurers!”

This book is the closest I’ve come to doing a straight “tabletop RPG replay.”

The kidnapped centaur princess and the adventurers who venture hither and yon to bring her home. The tribal strife, the squads of assassins, the romantic rivals, etcetera, etcetera. This is no heroic saga but a down and dirty tale of adventure, of a kind I first learned about via the Sorcery! books. It was tabletop RPGs, however, that showed me the pleasure of a group going along, chatting and bantering, screwing things up, but nonetheless pressing on. It might not involve the fate of the world, it might not even earn you much in the end, but it’s nonetheless an adventure.

I’ve made it through countless adventures in the past, and I always think they’re good things. Well, okay, so sometimes you wind up in multidimensional space or dying in all the 3,000 worlds at once, but still…

In any case, there’s no end of adventures in the Four-Cornered World! This is just one of them.

I’m happy to say that a supplement has been released for the Goblin Slayer TRPG. It’s thrilling to know that my readers are able to enjoy the Four-Cornered World for themselves.

On that note, this is another book that could have come together only with the help of many different people. Everyone in editorial, Kannatuki handling the illustrations, Kurose doing the manga, and all those in the distribution network. Not to mention my friends and everyone who picked up this book.
