AFTERWORD

Hullo, Kumo Kagyu here! Did you enjoy Volume 16 of Goblin Slayer? I put my all into writing it, so I hope you had fun!

This time, goblins appeared in the royal capital, and Goblin Slayer accepted a quest to slay them.

And there was jousting! A tournament! We will rock you!!

I’ve been desperate to do a story with stuff like this in it—so I did! Man, jousting tournaments are great, huh? Then you have all the politicking in the background—and the mysterious knight who hides his true identity. Edward the Black Prince has nothing on him! Nor Richard I or Carl XI…

But anyway, the only thing Goblin Slayer can do is slay goblins, and so goblins he slays. He has another adventure waiting for him, one that doesn’t take place on the sparkling stage of the capital proper.

There are all kinds of people in the world doing all kinds of things—that’s what makes the world go round. I think many people find it difficult to accept the fact that they’re just one small human being. That’s what makes our fight with “the Shadow” so difficult and why overcoming that battle is so admirable.

This book is no exception to that rule. A lot of different people helped make it a reality. Everyone in the editorial division and everyone involved in publication and marketing.

Noboru Kannatuki, who provided another set of wonderful illustrations. Kousuke Kurose, who handles the manga version.

All the readers who have encouraged me, everyone who’s been a fan since the web novel days, the administrators of the aggregator sites.

Not to mention my gaming buddies, the friends who are always happy to play with me.

This book owes its existence to more people than I can mention here. Thank you all, and always, so much.

Thanks to all this help, I feel like I can do more than ever. Well, my plate is always full—frankly, it’s a bit much! It’s weird. Dai Katana wrapped up just recently, so I should be feeling a little more relaxed, right…?

So recently, we’ve had a dungeoneering contest, the northern seas, and the capital. For the next volume, I think maybe a story in which goblins appear and have to be slain is in order.

I’ll put my all into writing it, so I hope you’ll enjoy it!

See you next time!
