AFTERWORD

Hullo, Kumo Kagyu here! Did you enjoy Volume 1 of Dai Katana: The Singing Death?

This was a story where adventurers delved into a dungeon and fought to the death with monsters, hoping to get ever farther. I poured my heart and soul into writing it, so I hope you had fun.

This book takes place long before Goblin Slayer. It’s the tale of one very special party of adventurers who braved the deepest depths of the deepest dungeon this world knows.

This is an old world. An old adventure. There’s a wire-frame dungeon, endless streams of monsters, and loot galore.

And there are adventurers who gather at the tavern. Death in the deeps of the dungeon. And the victory that awaits at the end of the long, slow accumulation of these things.

It’s an old, old story, the sort of thing that might now be known chiefly from legends and songs.

As we’ve seen in Goblin Slayer, the Four-Cornered World is full of adventurers. And even more than that, it’s full of adventures. There are fire-spewing mountains, evil wizards in their fortresses, the inn from hell, a dungeon full of deadly traps, the inn from hell…

Obviously, there’s going to have to be more than a little goblin slaying going on here. The death that emanates from the dungeon, the monsters, demons, threats, wealth, treasure, and honor.

Killing a few goblins isn’t going to save the world. And if the world ends before that village is destroyed, then it was all for nothing.

Of course, it’s no spoiler to say that the world is saved in the end. We know that from Goblin Slayer. And you should all be aware that it happened thanks to some adventurers who went down into the dungeon’s depths. But what did they face in that dungeon? How did they save the world?

Ah, that’s what I hope you’ll discover in this story.

For this is the story of YOU.

In the next volume, the party will challenge the dungeon once more, battle monsters to the death, and continue striving to reach that bottom floor.

I would love for you to stay with me to see how it all turns out.
