AFTERWORD

Hullo, Kumo Kagyu here! I hope you liked the second volume of Dai Katana. I gave writing it my all, and I would be thrilled if you enjoyed yourself.

So “you” and your party have gotten through the first two levels, and now the challenge of the dungeon begins in earnest. Fearsome ninjas await, along with the heart of the maelstrom. Even in this most famous dungeon in the world, where there’s only rebar-like wire frame to guide you, this is among the most difficult and dangerous places.

So if you’ve got your adventuring sheet and your pen and dice and you’re ready to go, then turn the page.

By the way, if you haven’t eaten anything yet by this point, you should go ahead and have something—I can wait.

Heh. I wonder how many people will get that?

Those who read the main Goblin Slayer series (thank you!) will know that the world does eventually get saved. So this is a story of an adventure to save the world that you read knowing how it ends. My hope is that it will inspire you to fondly remember adventures of your own.

After all, this is a book where you, dear reader, are the hero.

Just as one lone adventurer could never save the world on their own, this story couldn’t exist without a great deal of help. That includes everyone in editorial, sales, and distribution. Also: lack, who does the illustrations for these novels, and Aoki, who’s handling the manga version. The admins of the aggregator blogs who aggregate the web version. Now, in the next volume, “you” will have to challenge the lowest levels of this deepest of all dungeons. But there’s no need to fear. You’ve made it this far, after all.

And the heroes of the demon palace who have defeated people possessed by demons shall destroy the demonic plane, right?

Having said that, it might take me a while to get that last volume out. But I’ll be putting my heart and soul into it, so I hope you’ll read it when it arrives.
