It was a few moments before her gaze rested on the office building .

The lights on the sixth and seventh floors were still on, meaning that there were people working overtime .

The elevator brought her to the sixth floor .

As she stood by the entrance and hesitantly peered inside, the lady at the front desk quickly stood up .

So, at the sight of Si Jingyu, the lady simply asked cheerfully, “Hi, Miss . May I know who you’re looking for?”

She pursed her lips and hesitated for a moment before replying, “I’m looking for Shi Jinyan . ”

The front desk operator immediately pressed her lips together . It was a few moments before she asked, “Do you have a prior appointment with him?”

“Well, in that case, I’m sorry . If you want to meet Mr . Shi, you have to make an appointment with him first . ”

Pursing her lips once more, she stayed silent .

Now that the front desk lady didn’t recognize her, should she call him? Or was she to turn around and leave?

After a moment’s thought, she decided that it was best to leave . But just as she was about to do so, she heard the front desk lady suddenly pipe up in a courteous voice, “Mr . Shi . ”

She balled her fists, not daring to turn around as she heard the sound of footsteps approaching her .

She lowered her head and paused for a moment before deciding to continue on her way out of the office . But just as she was about to do so, the footsteps behind her quickened, and she felt someone grabbing her by the wrist . A familiar voice, low and characteristically cold but tinged with a little excitement, rang in her ear . “Jingyu!”

Before she could do anything further, the same voice said, “Are you here to look for me?”
