First Attack

The morning of the day before the ?First Attack?.

– We have trouble, Serivia-sama!

A nun came bursting in the room.

She was the private secretary of Maria aka Serivia.

– What is it? Why so noisy?

Getting out of the bed, Serivia replied.

– Liberian scientists seem to have discovered an asteroid approaching Earth!

– … An asteroid?

– It is approaching the Earth at a considerable speed. It is not known why it could not be discovered up to now.

If a meteorite were to crash, not only humanity would end extinct, there was the possibility of causing great damage too.

(The earthlings I finally raised will be wiped out?)

That was an inconvenience. Depending on the situation, even she might end up dying.

– The probabilities of collision are? When will that be?

– Approximately in a day. The probability is 93%.

Naturally, the world fell into panic.

There was no time to gather and think about ways to deal with it.

In the middle of that, the Rasiya Empire was the first to move.

The chances of the meteorite falling on Rasiya which had vast lands was above 70%??that was the probability the Rasiya Government Crisis Management Bureau had calculated.

The people of Rasiya immediately demanded the government to deal with it. Pressed by them, the emperor decided to launch a nuclear missile at the asteroid.

The hardness of the asteroid’s surface wasn’t considerable.

There was a chance of destroying it.

That was also the analysis of Rasiya Crisis Management Bureau.

Even if it didn’t make it, its trajectory would shift and the chance of falling on Rasiya should decrease too, said their expectations, so Rasiya Army immediately launched a nuclear missile towards the meteorite.

Speaking of results only, the analysis of Rasiya scientists wasn’t wrong.

Even though they weren’t able to destroy the asteroid, they were able to crack it.

It was the United States of Liberia, which self-proclaimed to be the police of the world, launched nuclear missiles after Rasiya. Two nuclear missiles. The first one to destroy the asteroid. The second one to make the fragments smaller and prevent damage done to Earth. That was their plan.

Just as Liberia planned, the first missile smashed up the asteroid in pieces and the second one made the meteorite smaller.

The staff shouted?GREAT!? unconsciously.

But soon the delight disappeared.

Because an unimaginable situation occurred.

Mysterious creatures that emitted fluorescent lights emerged from the fragmented meteorite. Serivia, who saw their appearances through a monitor, gasped in surprise.

What she remembered was the events of tens of thousands of years ago??.

A few days after she took off from Planet Notre Dame.

And that thing of hundreds of thousands of years ago.

(That’s…)

What was reflected on the monitor was a mysterious creature similar to an insect that covered its body with a thick steel shell and that emitted a fluorescent light from its entire body.

An existence called space invader that destroyed her spaceship and damaged the small spaceship for evacuation and the rescue pod.

It was a Savage.

Moreover, it wasn’t one or two.

She could confirm more than ten fluorescent colors, even if she could just visually confirm them.

(Why there are so many Savages on Earth now…?)

Her spine shivered with fear.

If the Savages fell on this planet called Earth along with the fragments of the meteorite, chaos would succeed.

The earthlings had no means to deal with the Savages.

Even if they launched nuclear missiles indiscriminately, they would have almost no effect.

They had to destroy their cores.

Maria knew the countermeasure.

However, she couldn’t move immediately.

She thought it wasn’t time to reveal her identity and abilities yet.

Moreover, she thought that rather than moving herself, a further evolution of the earthlings would be prompted by the invasion of the Savages.

The last resort was moving herself.

(Yes, this is the trial of mankind bestowed by God. They shall do so)

A few hours after the earthlings made contact with the Savages.

The Savages, along with numerous fragments of the meteorite, fell to the ground.

Fortunately, the largest fragments and most of the Savages fell to the South Pole where people didn’t live due to the guidance of the missiles.

Thus, the curtain of the long battle between the earthlings and Savages opened.

And, ironically enough, the earthlings would make even further progress because of this battle.
