Chapter 133 - Admitted to hospital

Translator: Black Lotus

Editor: imsara

Fii was lying in a hospital bed.

Her eyes were closed and she was still unconscious. She was breathing weakly.

Roy and Crow were standing outside the hospital room.

Crow’s expression was dark, so was Roy’s. He visibly had a dark look on his face.

Roy apologized for that, but Crow, who had been with him for years, knew that the reason for the dark look wasn’t just a matter of missing a clue. The fact that Heath had been seriously injured was probably a pretty big factor.

“No, I’m glad that Heath survived…”

Crow replied, not wanting to hurt his friend.

The woman stood in the trees surrounding the hospital. It was right in front of Fii’s hospital room.

The woman was slender and tall, as tall as a man. Her body is thin and toned, and together with her black costume, she reminds him of a black panther. Her face was beautiful, but the lower half of her face was obscured by the black cloth that covered it. Her glossy black hair was long, and it swayed in the night breeze.

A man landed quietly on the tree where the woman stood.

“Cain.”

In a quiet voice the woman muttered his name. The expression on her face was calm, so calm that it was almost cold.

In contrast, Cain’s voice was unusually revealing of emotion.

“Why, Nena!”

“Keep your voice down, Cain.”

Nena pointed out to Cain, who was caught up in his emotions, with a calm expression. The two of them were, as a matter of fact, childhood friends if they were normal people. They were born to parents who were the same grass and had trained together.

Even when Nena pointed that out to him, Cain didn’t stop.

He grabbed Nena by her shoulders rather than stuffing her with it and questioned her.

“You had to have seen it! That boy was about to be attacked by Rekon. And yet…and yet why!”

Cain’s hand grabbed Nena’s shoulder, and his hand was filled with strength. He shouldn’t have thought about disturbing his emotions, and no amount of grass should hurt quite as much, but Nena didn’t change her face.

“Yes, I saw you.”

“If you’ve been watching this…”

“However, it’s a surveillance mission.”

Cain’s eyes widened in disbelief at those words.

Then, he shouted a little in a snatched voice.

”So, you’re saying that you just watched that boy lose his life!”

A few days ago, Cain had been assigned another mission, and Nena had been replaced as the watchdog. He had thought that she would be a safe bet to leave Fii in charge.

But, upon his return, he was told that Fii was attacked and nearly killed by Rekon, and that he’d never regained consciousness.

Cain is upset and blamed Nena for her actions. Cain’s humanity is exposed in this situation, even though it’s the grass that keeps his emotions in check at all times.

Nena said to such Cain with a cold, unchanged expression.

“Yes, it is. That’s what grass is, right?”

Nena’s eyes were cold as she muttered that. Just as she was looking at His Majesty at that time.

Cain’s expression hardened at that answer.

The hand that was gripping tightly Nena’s shoulder gradually loosened. Nena gently squeezed Cain’s hand like that.

”Cain, it’s you who’s wrong.”

Cain’s hand, which had lost its strength, slipped through Nena’s hand and hung slackly in the air. In the same position, Cain stood downcast and just fell silent.

”I’ll go on to my next mission.”

“…”

When Nena saw Cain’s silence, she shifted her body to another tree to pass him by. But, she didn’t go there right away and stared at Cain’s prone face with her back.

“I’ll see you later, Cain.”

A few seconds later, her long hair shaked in the night wind and she disappeared into the darkness.

The door to the hospital room where Fii sleeps openned, revealing a woman in a white coat. It was Elisabetta, who worked at the medical clinic.

Elisabetta has been standing in front of the hospital room for a long time, reporting the results of the tests to Roy and Crow.

“Your Majesty, Heath’s examination is complete. Fortunately, there were no sprains or broken bones in his neck. His breathing is coming back slowly, and his body is responding well. I’m sure that he will regain consciousness.”

Both Roy and Crow looked relieved to hear that.

But, Elizabeth’s report did not end there.

”Then, there may be one more thing that I need to report. Your Majesty, you said that the boy is an apprentice knight, right?”

“Yes, I’ve been accepted him into the 18th Order as an apprentice knight. A boy with great promise.”

When Elizabeth heard the answer, she meditated a little, then opened her eyes and looked at Roy’s face and said

“Your Majesty, she’s a girl.”
