Chapter 1.1

There were about a dozen people at the entrance . From children to strong men in their thirties, they were all stripped naked and waiting outside, and there were even two women among them, who were just as naked and looked as if they were at ease .

Guo Shi’er was a bit conservative about exposing himself naked from his previous life . He didn’t expect that he would have to strip naked when entering the Fu Wu Xumi Dao and began to feel very uncomfortable .

Hearing Guo Shi’er’s scream, Monier hurriedly asked, “Baby, what’s wrong with you?”

Guo Shi’er laughed bitterly, “Will I have to get naked?”

Monier wondered, “Of course you’ll have to get naked, how else will the patterns get on you? Hey… baby, are you shy? Are you? Haha, hahaha… our baby is even shy… haha…”

Ku Mu strangely looked at Guo Shi’er and said indifferently, “This is an inheritance, it is for body refinement . What’s there to be shy about? I don’t get it! What’s going on in that little head of yours?”

Guo Shi’er couldn’t help but blush as he kept pushing himself, “I’m a child! I’m a kid… I’m not hairy… I’m not an adult… I’m a child…”

Monier asked, “What are you mumbling about, baby?”

Guo Shi’er shook his head repeatedly and said, “Nothing . ”

Monier said, “Alright, go to the entrance, I’ll go find someone to register you . Little Eagle, you go over there too . ”

The Eagle Demon got depressed and said to himself, “Little Eagle? I’m too old and I’m still being called Little Eagle…” He agreed with a bitter smile and then walked to the entrance, immediately proceeding to take his trousers off . The patterns on his body were extremely complex and very different from the local warriors . One could tell at first glance that he was an outsider .

Guo Shi’er couldn’t help himself . Having reached here, he had to follow the local customs . Good thing was that he was still a child . He completely stripped and stood with the group, waiting to enter the battleground .

An inner sect disciple dressed in silvery white robes said, “Enter in order, one by one . Before you enter, I will give each person a gem, and when you feel that you can’t hold on anymore, crush the gem and you’ll get out . Alright, let’s begin . ”

Each person who passed by him received a gem and not far away, Monier shouted, “Come on, baby!”

Guo Shi’er’s heart warmed upon hearing this . Monier truly treated him as her own child and cared for him without seeking any benefit, allowing him to gradually integrate into his master’s home .

With the gem that he received, Guo Shi’er carefully stepped onto the Fu Wu Xumi Dao .

The situation inside was similar to the Fu Zhou Xumi Dao . It was impossible to see the outside or anyone else and the surroundings were empty . There was also a forward marker on the ground and after taking a few steps, Guo Shi’er was surprised to find that he couldn’t feel anything .

Couldn’t he benefit from his Rune potential? He took a few more steps and suddenly a Blood Rune shot over, hitting him hard on the chest with a painful “pop” . He couldn’t help but shout, but it relieved his fears of not being able to refine his body .

Inspecting his chest carefully, Guo Shi’er found a small, pale red mark about the size of a fingernail on his skin, it was a body refining rune . He continued to walk forward, and suddenly two more Blood Runes shot up, this time, aimed at his arms . It stung again, like a hot iron being branded on his skin .

Monier looked at Guo Shi’er very worriedly and said, “Ku Mu, can the baby hold on? It hurts…”

Ku Mu said faintly, “It would be good if he can hold on . I believe that he can . ”

Monier shook her head slightly . She had walked in once when she was young and only lasted less than a hundred meters before she crushed the gem to get out . She refused to try again after that . It was really painful . She was a tenger young miss, so how could she be willing to suffer such pain? She was well aware of the pain of body refining and worried about whether Guo Shi’er would be able to hold on .

After the Eagle Demon entered the Fu Wu Xumi Dao, he took a big step forward and Blood Runes kept hitting him, but he could barely feel the pain .  

After entering the second circle, the Blood Runes became intense and crackled on his body, but he only felt it a bit more . The more body refining symbols he was hit by, the more painful it would be .

Soon, the Eagle Demon entered the third circle . His walking speed was now slowing down, stopping after each step . The pain from body refining runes was getting very intense .

It was no surprise that Eagle Demon was able to enter the third circle . He himself was a genuine Beginner Great Talisman Martial Master . Meanwhile, Guo Shi’er’s situation was rather pitiful . After walking a few hundred meters, one of the runes hit him and made him off-balanced .

Guo Shi’er was ruthless to himself . He gritted his teeth and moved forward, even if his pace was getting slower and slower like a turtle crawling . With every step he took, he roared, and with his strong will, he nearly completed the circle .

There was no way to know how the road ahead was and no one in the Imaginary Path would know where they were .

Ku Mu said, “Shi’er is still too young to be able to walk half a path… it’s remarkable…  Many children with such potential can’t do any more than that . ”

Monier’s heart was tense but she didn’t say anything . She just breathed heavily .

Guo Shi’er was still advancing slowly and steadily . Every step he took was strenuous and painful . When the blood runes hit his body, he felt like he was being hit by a hammer . His body was sore and aching, but in his heart, he kept admonishing himself, “Hold on! Persistence is victory! As long as you don’t die, you’ll continue on . ”

Others couldn’t endure the pain and they crushed the gem in their hands, being instantly teleported outside . As soon as the old contenders crushed their gems, new participants were entering .

With an incredibly strong will, Guo Shi’er had almost reached the end of the first circle . Even for children with Rune potential, who was entering for the first time, not many were able to make it this far . Ku Mu didn’t even know what to say, this child was able to last this long . He hadn’t expected something like this .

Monier covered her face in dismay . She couldn’t figure out how he was enduring such pain . She had experienced the refinement of her body, which felt literally worse than death, herself . It was simply too hard to persevere .

The Eagle Demon was also persevering . His determination was much stronger than that of the local contenders, so how could he be willing to stop when he had such a good opportunity? He had reached the middle circle and was still moving forward, a little progress at a time . His pace had become extremely slow .

Both Guo Shi’er’s legs shook as if they were sifting chaff . He was almost numb and his whole body was trembling violently with every step he took . He had the illusion that his body was like a sieve, shot through with holes from the dozens of blood runes he provoked with every step he took .

He took a deep breath and took another firm step .

“Ah!” He roared . Guo Shi’er’s original child-like voice had now become hoarse .

He tried to stabilize his body, enduring dozens of blows from the Blood Runes, again and again, knowing inside that if he sat down, he wouldn’t have the strength to stand up again .

He took another trembling step . His steps were getting heavy but it brought him into the second circle . Hundreds of Blood Runes flew in and struck him violently . He couldn’t hold on any longer and slowly sat down .

Monier screamed, “Into the second circle! Baby’s on the second circle!”

All that came out from Ku Mu was, “Amazing!”

The Eagle Demon was also on the verge of reaching the third circle and was about to lose . The impact of thousands of Blood Runes was causing him great pain .

Forcing his way this far, he had ascended to become a Senior Great Rune Martial Master and almost about to become a Rune Martial Wild Master . In the last few dozens of steps, he could no longer move forward and slowly sat down . Being able to advance two levels on his first entry, he was very satisfied and, unlike Guo Shi’er, he knew the limits of his strength .

Guo Shi’er had reached Junior Ancient rank but he needed to continue studying and exercising before he could turn his growing potential into his own strength .

The pain gradually diminished . He realised that he should not continue advancing, so he casually crushed the rune and was immediately hit by a wave of an invisible power sent out of the Fu Wu Xumi Dao .

Ku Mu took a thick robe and wrapped it around Guo Shi’er . Monier snatched a step up, picked up Guo Shi’er and said, “Kid, you’re amazing . Hehe, does it still hurt?”

Guo Shi’er’s entire body had swollen . His body was densely covered in light red runes and his hands were outstretched, with numerous small runes on them . He said, “Master’s Wife, it’s okay…” His voice was completely hoarse .

Monier grieved, “Master’s Wife had prepared a swelling-reducing elixir at home, just soak up in it . ”

In the meantime, Eagle Demon was also teleported out but he had no one to help him, so he picked his trousers and put them on . He was accustomed to these rituals but he needed to exercise before it could be transformed into his own strength .

He wasn’t in a hurry and after finishing packing, he came to Guo Shi’er’s side and asked, “How are you?”

Guo Shi’er mumbled, “Finally survived . ”

Ku Mu said, “It was worth it, to be able to reach the level of a Junior Ancient . This was a great reward . ”

The Eagle Demon was shocked and asked, “Junior Ancient?” A clan having someone of that level would surely become stronger . He sighed, “This Fu Wu Xumi Dao was amazing” .

Ku Mu said, “Right, Junior Ancient! It’s just that… It’ll take a few more years of exercise and absorption to truly reach the level of a Beginner Rune Martial Master, but as long as you’re not an idiot or a lazy person, you will definitely be able to truly advance to Intermediate Ancient . ”

Guo Shi’er realized that even if he reached the second circle, he could not be considered to have advanced to Junior Ancient and would have to go through a period of training and study in order to truly become a Beginner Rune Martial Master . It was only at that point that one could enter the Fu Wu Xumi Dao again .
