“Was it impolite of me to interfere? Did you want to go to Chase Miller’s house?”
Noah sounded normal as he walked ahead towards the helicopter.
“No, I didn’t really want to-….”
Mason mumbled and stopped walking. He got scared about having to watch Die Hard, all four series in a row, and was going to decline the offer anyway. But instead of that-
Noah looked back as he sensed Mason stop.
“What’s wrong?”
Behind the helicopter, the sun was setting, and Noah was smiling, with the sunset as a backdrop. Mason stared at his delightful face and said.
“Now, I think it’s about time you tell me why you are doing this.”
Yesterday, today morning, and until a moment ago, Mason has been swept away by Noah’s actions without knowing anything. Yesterday, he was saved from a crisis, and today morning too; whatever the method was, it was Mason who asked for help, so he didn’t make any complaints. He wondered, ‘Did he necessarily have to go to such great lengths?’ but just left it alone.
However, when the same thing happened three times in a row, he couldn’t help asking-
“I think you are hoping to cultivate this scandal… Am I mistaken?”
Even that he wanted a scandal involving Haley was strange.
Mason looked up at Noah with his head down. He could not figure out what Noah was thinking. Did he really need a bullet shield that bad to divert the attention?
Noah was not really surprised by Mason’s question. Instead, he languidly kept his eyes half-open and laughed. Mason frowned a bit at Noah’s gleeful expression; the story was finally going to come out.
