Ki-sarang was frozen in place as she saw an Aglantan fly towards her.  However, she seemed to have remembered Lee-joonhyuk’s words, so she raised her shield.

She covered her neck and chest, so it seemed like she wouldn’t die immediately.

Boom!

“Kyahhhhhk!”

The Aglantan rammed into Kim-sarang.  There were only a finite space on the footbridge.  When the Aglantan, which was 3 meters in length, rammed into her, it was impossible for her to resist against it.

Lee-joonhyuk crouched low then he put all his strength into his thigh muscles.  When his muscles greatly inflated, Lee-joonhyuk jumped from the footbridge to the lake.

Kim-sarang was about to hit the water after being hit by the Aglantan, but he was barely able to grab her.  The moment he grabbed her, he spread his barrier.

Ka-ka-ka-kang.

Before he knew it, seven Aglantans had approached them.  The Aglantans tried to bite from beneath the surface, so fortunately, they were floating on top of the lake.  They were quite fortunate.

While Lee-joonhyuk carried Kim-sarang in his arms, he jumped toward an approaching Aglantan.  He stepped on the Aglantan’s head, and he was able to jump back onto the footbridge.

Then the Aglantans started to fly toward Lee-joonhyuk.  Lee-joonhyuk knew he had, at the very least, wasted 5 seconds in getting here.  Fortunately, he had only 5 steps left on the footbridge.

If there was a problem, it was the impact from the Aglantans hitting his barrier.  Even if his barrier was there, they would still be knocked off the footbridge.

Lee-joonhyuk moved his body, while he held her in his arms.  When he took his first step on the footbridge, an Aglantan flew towards him.  He crouched low to avoid it, then he used the momentum to jump high in the air.  Two Aglantans jumped toward the second step of the footbridge, but they hadn’t expected Lee-joonhyuk to skip two step by crouching and jumping into the air.

He still had two step left on the footbridge.  He had only one second left.  Lee-joonhyuk put his strength into the arm that was holding onto Kim-sarang.  He twisted his waist, then he threw her.  Kim-sarang, who was flying towards safety, screamed as she reached the other side.

“Kyaaaahhhk!  Big brother!”

Lee-joonhyuk focused his mind, then he observed the Aglantans’ movement.  While the Aglantans were flying towards him, the barrier disappeared.  At that moment, he tried to exert a high degree of concentration as he avoided the Aglantans.

He couldn’t properly handle his two-handed sword, so he couldn’t cut the Aglantans.

He bent his waist to avoid an Aglantan, then he jumped towards the next step on the footbridge.  When he was about to  land, one Aglantan aimed for his ankle.

Lee-joonhyuk hurriedly folded his leg, and he kneed the Aglantan’s head.  The Aglantan flopped.  He grabbed the horn on its head then he swung it.

The 3 meter long Aglantan was very heavy, but since Lee-joonhyuk had strengthened his muscles, it was possible for him to swing it.  He was able to swing it into 3 Aglantans that was flying towards him, and they were repelled.

As Lee-joonhyuk was throwing the Aglantan, he used the rebound to jump to the next step on the footbridge.  As if they were afraid Lee-joonhyuk would escape, the Aglantans flew towards him from every direction.

Four Aglantans flew towards him in close formation, so Lee-joonhyuk barely had space to escape from them.  Lee-joonhyuk eventually put his strength into the two-handed sword.
The simultaneously attacking Aglantans couldn’t be compared to the wolves.  Moreover, it was much more dangerous to fight on top of a footbridge.

Puh-puk.

At that moment, a sword flew in from the opposite side, and it passed by as it cut two Aglantans.  There were only two of them left.  Instead of swinging his two-handed sword, he used all of his energy to jump towards the other side.

He rolled across to the other side, then Lee-joonhyuk lay on floor the like a star fish.  He had overtaxed himself by throwing the Aglantan, and as his tension went away, he couldn’t put strength into his body.

A shadow fell across Lee-joonhyuk’s head.  Atlan looked down at him saying nothing, then he turned around.

“We are moving after a 5 minute break.”

Lee-joonhyuk spoke as he looked up at Atlan, while he was lying on the floor.

“Thank you.”

“Hoong.”

Atlan retreated after he snorted, then Lee-joonhyuk started to slowly raise his body.  Before Lee-joonhyuk could even raise his body, Kim-sarang ran towards him, and she hugged him.

“Big brother!  I thought I was going to die!”

Lee-joonhyuk spoke as he patted the crying Kim-sarang.

“Are you hurt anywhere?”

“I’m fine.”

“That is fortunate.”

Truthfully, Lee-joonhyuk hadn’t thought about running towards the school of Aglantans even if he did have his barrier.  If possible he wanted to save everyone, but he didn’t have the chance to intervene.  Also, if he blindly tried to save them, he might have also died.
He had run in to save at least one person, and he was barely able to save Kim-sarang.

“What are we going to do?  Everyone is dead.”

Lee-joonhyuk raised his head, then he patted the top of Kim-sarang’s head.

“You are alive, because you followed my words.”

When Kim-sarang raised her head, Lee-joonhyuk continued to speak in a calm manner.

“You had the will to live. You didn’t receive a critical wound from the Aglantan’s attack, because you raised your shield.  If you hadn’t, I wouldn’t have been able to save you.”

Lee-joonhyuk spoke calmly to the sniffling Kim-sarang.

“As I said before, you have to be in charge of protecting your own life in this place.”

Kim-sarang was still crying.  Lee-joonhyuk put both his hands on Kim-sarang’s cheek, then he raised her face to look her in the eyes.

“Do you want to return?”

“….Yes.”

Kim-sarang was barely able to answer him.  After confirming her answer, Lee-joonhyuk spoke with certainty in his words.

“Then don’t look back.  If there is a road for you to live, then walk that road even if you have to step over me.  This is how you can survive in the ruthless Dimensional Battlefield.”

Kim-sarang stared at Lee-joonhyuk, and she asked a question.

“Did big brother do that?”

Lee-joonhyuk laughed bitterly.

“At first, I wanted to save all of them. However, I realized it was futile from the start.”

Kim-sarang knew as she looked at Lee-joonhyuk.  Lee-joonhyuk had already experienced what she was going through right now.  He had endured through the mental panic she was going through.

She was sure now.  If she followed his words, she would be able to return.  Kim-sarang’s eyes became determined.  When Lee-joonhyuk saw this, he smiled.

“Both of us.  Let us return alive.”

“Yes.”

Afterwards, they didn’t meet any monsters inside the forest.  Atlan was familiar with the path, so he led them without speaking.  Kim-sarang hardened her heart, and she followed without complaining.

They ran for three hours straight, then Lee-joonhyuk felt a change in the air. This was the clouds of war.  There was a battle going on in location, and one could feel the clouds of war.

Atlan turned back to look as he spoke.

“Let’s hurry.”

After Atlan finished speaking, he stepped forward, and Lee-joonhyuk followed after him.  Kim-sarang carefully followed after them.

“I have chills all over my body.  Big brother.”

Lee-joonhyuk turned to look at Kim-sarang.

“We will rush into a place where a battle is going on.”

“Rush into?”

“Yes.  Our target is the enemy’s hero.  Just think of it simply. We have to rush in and take the enemy leader’s head off.”

“Then we’ll have to go within the enemy line?”

Lee-joonhyuk nodded his head.

“That is correct.”

Lee-joonhyuk said one more word to the nervous Kim-sarang.

“If we break through the enemy line, it will be Atlan’s slice of action.  He’ll be the one who’ll bring the enemy leader’s head. We just have to survive and assist him.”

“We just have to survive?”

“Don’t let go of  your shield.”

Kim-sarang strongly grasped her shield.  Lee-joonhyuk continued to speak to Kim-sarang in a calm manner.

“The enemy’s attack will be stronger than you think.  If you don’t put more power than expected into the hand you are holding your shield, you will lose it.”

“Yes.”

They approached the boundary of the forest, and they could hear sounds of explosions.

Kwa-kwang!

Lee-joonhyuk spoke towards the back of Atlan.

“Is Vera over there?”

“Correct.  Let’s go to her.”

After finishing his words, he started forward.  Beyond the boundary of the forest, a battle was in full swing between the Minions.  Then there were those whose heads popped out above the Minions as they fought.

Vera, who was 2 meters tall, was throwing fire balls, and her opponent was blocking her attacks with a large shield.  The battle was being fought on the main road.

Atlan turned to look at Lee-joonhyuk.

“You know that bastard?”

“Isn’t he, Grangsha?”

“Yes.  When his first attack comes, use the barrier on me.”

“Do you mind if we keep our distance?”

Atlan spoke as he turned to look at Lee-joonhyuk.

“You will inevitably draw their gazes.”

“Still, it would be better than entering into a pitched battlefield.”

“Do what you want.”

After he finished saying this, Atlan started to move.  He approached from behind the battle line like an assassin. In a moment, Atlan crouched, and he jumped into the air.
After seeing his figure, Lee-joonhyuk spoke to Kim-sarang then he ran out.

“Wait for me here.”

After saying those words, Lee-joonhyuk ran towards the enemy line, so Atlan wouldn’t be out of range of his barrier.  The distance he could cast the barrier on someone else was shorter than he had expected.
He’ll have to go behind the enemy line.
As Lee-joonhyuk ran, he saw Atlan descend and strike Grangsha.

Kwaang!

“Koo-ook!”

Grangsha let out a moan.  Even though he was injured, Gransha turned as he swung a one-handed scythe towards Atlan.  He was a hero that was famous for using his shield, and scythe to use interlocking attacks.

When Lee-joonhyuk saw the scythe being swung, he cast his barrier on Atlan.

Tung!

The scythe bounced off, and at that moment, Atlan yelled with a smile on his face.

“You are dead!”

Atlan’s sword swung at a blinding speed, so Lee-joonhyuk stopped paying attention to him.  It was, because the Minion’s gazes were all on him.
The opponent’s Minions weren’t simple humans.  They had green skin, and they wore purplish helmet and armor.  Their shoulders were also broader than humans.They were also very strong.

As he saw his opponent approach him with an axe, Lee-joonhyuk lowered his two-handed sword at an angle.  If he retreated, Kim-sarang would be in danger.

He already knew this fact, so Lee-joonhyuk didn’t retreat.  Instead, he faced off against those who were approaching him.  He had fought them before, and their strength was stronger than the normal humanoid Minions.

Zzung!

Lee-joonhyuk realized something when he deflected the axe.  The difference between Minion and Novice wasn’t only in the advantage of having an ability.  There was an fundamental difference in their strength.

In the past, his arm felt like it would break when he blocked with his shield.  However, he could easily parry this attack.

Lee-joonhyuk didn’t hesitate to bring down his two handed sword.

Kwa-kahk!

The two handed sword became stuck on the opponent Minion’s armor.  He had forgotten a fact, since he was able to parry the axe so easily.  He wasn’t a Hero like Atlan.

While Lee-joonhyuk was taken aback, another Minion ran up from the side, and he brought down his axe.  Lee-joonhyuk had kicked the Minion to dislodge his two handed sword, but he was too late.

At that moment, a shadow suddenly entered in front Lee-joonhyuk.

Tung.

Kim-sarang had stepped in front of him to block.  Even as he was surprised by the figure of her back, he swung his two-handed sword.

Sssguk.

The Minion’s head was sliced off, and the blood fountained toward Kim-sarang.  She was able to block the blood with her shield then she stood next to Lee-joonhyuk.
He was proud of Kim-sarang, who had saved him, but it wasn’t the time to have a conversation.

“Let’s retreat first.”

“I’ll block for you.”

“No.  Let’s retreat.”

The enemy Minions were stepping forward, so Lee-joonhyuk ran forward to swing his two-handed sword.  This time he didn’t over do it by hitting the enemy’s armor.  He used precision to aim for the gap between the opponent’s armor.

Tuh-tung!

He was able to parry the axes easily.  He was in a state of hypervigilance.  Lee-joonhyuk parried the axe, then he immediately cut the Minion’s throat.  The moment he slashed the throat another Minion ran in, so he retreated.

Hit and run.

Lee-joonhyuk counted the number of Minions.  Excluding the Minions engaged in the battle on the front line, there were eight Minions who were targeting Lee-joonhyuk.

There were eight left after losing two.  Lee-joonhyuk looked at them.  He spoke as he put strength into the hands holding the two-handed sword.

“Come at me.”

Unlike the allied Minions, the enemy Minions acted as if they weren’t afraid.  They would act uncertainly if they were facing off against a Hero, who held an overwhelming edge, but they weren’t afraid of dying when attacking a fellow Minion.

At the beginning, he was afraid of this fact.  However, he was fully capable of dealing with them, so as Vera said, he saw the opponents as gold.

“Let’s make some money.”
