Chapter 21
After we finished with the move during the weekend, Yuki and I started living together . From today on, our usual life went back on track .
“Morning, Yuki . ”
“Good morning, Yuuki . ”
Looks like she was making today’s breakfast . How should I say this, this feeling of living with your lover is pretty nice .
“You could’ve woken me a bit earlier if you were making breakfast,” I said .
I’m from the type who can’t stand these small details, so I tried to make it clear by asking her .
“It’s okay . I am making it for you, after all . Besides, your nutrion balance will be fine as long as I make meals for you . ”
I just realized this but, she’s intending to make dinner as well . Well, if she’s insisting on doing so, I guess I should let her do as she likes . Her cooking was good anyway .
“Thanks . I’ll be back after changing to my uniform . ”
“I understand . Breakfast should be ready soon too . ”
[ED: Starting to think he’s falling for his ‘Mom’, and given his past… I also think he’s beginning to realize it himself, I hope at least]
“Okay . ”
I went back to my room to prepare for going to school, washed my face in the bathroom before heading to the living room when suddenly the intercom went off .
“Yuuki, can I ask you to get that? I am busy right now . ”
“Alright . ”
I walked in the entrance hall and opened the door .
“Ya! We came to eat breakfast . ”
“… Thank you for the meal . ”
It was Hinata and Utano . Well, it’s not like I was expecting someone else .
“Um, do you women know something about being reserved?!”
“I casted that word aside in a far away place . ”
“Don’t throw it!? Go back now and pick it up again!”
“C’mon now . I’m getting in . ”
“… I’m hungry . ”
It’s pretty tiring to hold a conversation with this two right after waking up . For the time being, let’s move to the living room .
“”Hinata, Utano, Good morning . ”
“Morning, Yuki . ”
“…Monrning . ”
“I am done preparing breakfast, let’s eat it together . ”
“We took our seats with the same formation as the one we took in the restaurant .
Everyone: “Let’s dig in . ”
Everyone joined their hands and then began eating . Today’s breakfast is bean miso soup, meat and potato stew, rice, pickled vegetables and fried eggs . A balanced breakfast indeed, I’m impressed .
“How do you find it, Yuuki? . ”
“It’s really delicious . With this, I can do my best for the entire day . ”
“Is that so? I’m glad . ”
Yuki seemed to be happy after hearing my impression .
“Come to think of it, did you know? . . ” Hinata began .
“…What?”
How would I know anything after being asked such a vague questions?
“There is student in the third year, Kirishima Sakuya, who likes to pick fights . Last year when I saw her, I was amazed after glancing at a slight trace of an injury on her face . ”
Yuki spoke interjected . “Such students are in your school? Yuuki, be careful to not get caught up with them . ”
Well, there are countless times when I was involved with this kind of stuff . But still, I never heard of that name . Maybe she’s a part of those delinquents groups .
“I know, but, I have been involved with delinquents various times in my past, I don’t remember anyone with the name of Kirishima among them . ”
Utano reflected for a bit before she said, “… I was once told to investigate her folder during a staff meeting . Apparently, she doesn’t belong to any group of that kind and there were no eyewitnesses claiming so as well . ”
If an Ex officer said so then it should be true .
“Hinata, How often did she get injured last year?”
“Humu… quite often I think . Something like every 2 or 3 weeks . ”
That’s pretty strange… in many ways .
“If that was the case, then she should be famous of being a quarreler . This was indeed weird; if she’s fighting every 3 weeks, that would make it 17 times a year, yet there were no eyewitness information, and she’s not a part of any dangerous group . At least there should be a few rumours about her being a delinquent, but nothing of such did reach my ears . ”
“Humu… As I thought . ”
What did she mean being as I thought? She seems to be aware of something .
“I was indeed amazed when I thought she was fighting, however, I always thought that her strike spots were unusual . ”
“By unusual, what do you want to say?”
Yuki asked seeming to be intrigued in the discussion .
“The hitting trace after a fight should normally be around the sides or the face, but Kirishima had a good number of bruises on her back as well . ”
[ED: For a nurse, you’re terrible at your job . ]
“… If she likes to fight alone then she should be defending her back too . In case she doesn’t watch her back, it is clear that she will end up defeated . ”
I see… this is getting further suspicious .
[ED: Seriously, it’s obvious as hell!]
“I can’t help but feel curious about it . Well, just be careful and not get involved with her . She’s your upperclassman anyway, which makes it less likely to happen . ”
“Right, we’re in the middle of our breakfast so let’s switch to a cheerful topic . ”
“You got a point . Well then, let’s see who can guess Yuki’s underwears color . ”
[TLN: I say black . ]
[ED: Same]
“… I’m up to play . ”
“Don’t play!? Rather what the heck are you thinking about?!”
Really, Hinata is just…
“I vote for black . ”
“… White . ”
“What are you choosing, Yuuki?”
“I say in the middle, Gray . ”
Wait- I answered in reflex!! What in the heaven did I just say!!
“Yuuki?”
Ah . No good . Yuki is pissed . I can distinctly see her hidden wrath .
“You peeked at me! Eeh, this can’t be helped . Yuuki, you’re in that age after all . Holding an interest in a women’s undergarments is only natural . However, I still think that peaking is not a good habit . ”
How is this possible? I hit the right color? Aren’t I amazing? Even though I just randomly made a guess .
“Um… Yuki…”
“Yes?”
Uwaa, the smiling face, those scary eyes . I guess I’m left with no other choice than… fleeing away!
“Nothing! Actually, I need to go to school now, later!!”
“Yuuki . Please wait . ”
Let’s ignore her call and escape!!
“Well then, Utano and I should go too . ”
“Fufu, Hinata, Utano? We still have something to discuss . ”
“Yes . ”
“Right . ”
Looks like the two of them are the sacrifices . I managed to get away with my life .
“I somehow made it outside the house . But more importantly, Yuki wears gray, huh…”
I ended up guessing it unintentionally earlier . Well, let’s apologize to her in the part-time job .
“Aight, let’s go to school now . ”
