Kagami involuntarily let out a 「Ho~o……」 upon seeing the self-control he possessed, clearly different from the others Beast’s Fangs•Kemono Kiba-zoku• that surrounded them, which did not stop emitting their aggressiveness.

The Beast’s Fangs•Kemono Kiba-zoku• didn’t seem to be old enough to be called an old man, instead he looked like a man in his thirties, with long neat black hair and a short beard. It was not just a question of whether they should fight or not, but how they would do it. Kagami and Takako, who had fought countless enemies up to that point, were experienced enough to be able to deduce how skilled their opponents were.

The leader of the Beast’s Fangs•Kemono Kiba-zoku• was silent, probably because Kagami’s words made something pop into his head. At least, they could recognize humans as their enemies, but there were other beings besides the Beast’s Fangs•Kemono Kiba-zoku• which seemed to be allies. Many of the animals that lived in the forest were allies. But at the same time, even if it was another Beast’s Fangs•Kemono Kiba-zoku•, these still fought against each other from time to time if they belonged to another village, although they did not try to kill each other.

「I ask you because Pitta used to travel with you, the Beast’s Fangs•Kemono Kiba-zoku•. Well, it seems that it was a different group than yours. However, they abandoned Pitta because they saw her as a hindrance. But we did not see her that way, to us Pitta is a good and a reliable girl. And now she is an important companion to us」

Pitta, who seemed to have felt embarrassed after Kagami said that with such confidence, smiled happily and hid herself on Palna’s chest so they wouldn’t see her.

On the other hand, the leader to Beast’s Fangs•Kemono Kiba-zoku• opened his eyes wide, unable to believe that someone of his race had abandoned one of their comrades. However, no matter how he sharpened his senses, he was unable to prove that Kagami was lying, which only made him feel even more frustrated.
