Chapter 48 (Part 2) – Unbreakable Alloy

The Unbreakable Alloy wasn’t some ancient Xian Martial Arts, but rather, it was recently developed to promote new kinds of Xian Martial Arts. It has sixteen levels altogether. If this One Hundred Myriads Golden Bug had been a fully developed battle beast with all sixteen levels, then perhaps the ending of the battle may be different.

This battle beast was the most favoured beast by Sun Bo Fang and was the beast that he used the most. Therefore this demonic bug has countless of data collected by Sun Bo Fang. All of these data raised the value of the One Hundred Myriads Golden Bug by a few times.

Xu Liao scanned through the screen and a stickied document caught his attention. It was named as ‘seven days competition’. This invitation was placed at the most obvious location on the screen; which also meant that Sun Bo Fang regarded this competition quite highly and read it quite a number of times.

The description of the invitation stated the rules and regulations of the competition clearly. Those who were invited had to form a group of five as a single unit to enter the demon territory to attack a demon. Whoever is able to defeat the target and hold it for seven consecutive days will be granted a Wish Fruit.

Xu Liao didn’t read further and closed the file. Naturally, Xu Liao had no interest in killing and fighting. Rather, he felt that he already had too much of that and hope that he could leave the world of demons and live peacefully for the rest of his life.

After sifting through more data and not finding anything particularly special, he proceeded to activate the One Hundred Myriads Golden Bug’s gold attribute armor. His dark demonic energy swirled and merged into the demonic bug. Surprisingly, the One Hundred Myriads Golden Bug reaction to his dark demonic energy was very low. His demonic force value had already reached over eight thousand. But the One Hundred Myriads Golden Bug at most could only convert three hundred points of the demonic force value. Initially he had high hopes for this battle beast, but after looking at such disappointing data, he felt slightly depressed.

On the virtual screen, Xu Liao’s demonic force value shot up in an instant. Within his mind, various notifications rang in his mind simultaneously; it was so quick that it didn’t even allow one sentence to finish before the next sentence started playing.

After the last sentence rang, Xu Liao couldn’t maintain his human form any longer; his belly suddenly inflated as the mysterious demonic energy rushed into his diaphragm. Then his belly deflated as quickly as it inflated and Xu Liao’s height shot up. Slowly, the features of the golden skeleton demonic form started revealing itself.

The One Hundred Myriads Golden Bug formed a gold attribute armor on the surface of the golden skeleton all the way down from the skull to the feet. Its shape had some changes and seemed heavier and thicker than before.

After fully materializing the golden armor, it latched onto the bones of the golden skeleton. The golden skeleton had a majestic aura. Towering over five meters, this demonic form almost rivalled the height of the spectre of the Jasper Seven Stars Mantis Demon. Both sockets were burning with a golden flame, staring down with a monstrous arrogance like a tyrant.

This event left Xu Liao trembling in shock. The last sentence from the battle beast kept replaying in his mind.

“Host had fully fulfilled the One Hundred Myriads Golden Bug full battle mode. Unbreakable Alloy hit level 9!”

Xu Liao took in a deep breath as he tried to calm himself down. He then opened his mouth and started murmuring to himself: “I… I never thought that the mysterious demonic energy could be compatible with the One Hundred Myriads Golden Bug…. It totally maximized the powers of this battle beast!!”

The golden metallic thread from the golden skeleton slowly extended and crawled into the gold attribute armor.

Xu Liao was still slightly in shock. He totally didn’t expect that this weird demonic core would suddenly refine the One Hundred Myriads Golden Bug. For every inch the golden metallic thread extends, this golden attribute armor reacted by changing its shape bit by bit and slowly overriding the control from the dark demonic energy.

The dark demonic energy went into submission the instant the golden metallic thread inched forward. It slowly ceded its area of control as it retreated to allow the mysterious demonic energy to nourish the One Hundred Myriads Golden Bug.

Bit by bit, the golden metallic thread slowly turned the armor from dark gold into mysterious, pure gold.

The mysterious demonic energy surged with no intentions to stop. After a short while, it completely covered the entire armor of the One Hundred Myriads Golden Bug. However, the gold attribute armor suddenly burst open and split into many pieces as if it had passed the limit of what the demonic bug could handle. This was the first time Xu Liao had seen the exquisite designs of the insides of a battle beast.

The golden metallic thread was a picky eater. It ate the demon transformation system and the battle beast system and ignored the rest of the parts that had nothing to do with martial arts.

It then proceeded to devour a portion of the One Hundred Myriads Golden Bug and formed another layer of runes. This layer of runes wasn’t stable, and kept flickering. It even could increase in amount!

After a few breaths later, this layer of runes finally settled down and formed a brand new formula.

The golden metallic thread redesigned the <<Unbreakable Alloy>>. The new skill had a total of eighteen levels, which was significantly more than the original. Furthermore, when the skill is at the same level as the original, the defence is improved by 60%.

The Unbreakable Alloy does indeed provide great resistance against many things; however, it is not without its flaws. Because this set of martial arts enhances the defence of the host to a high level, it actually forms a layer around the host; like an unseen defensive barrier. This unseen barrier is not only able to defend against a lot of attacks, but it also reduces the host’s own attacking power because it blocks some of the energy when transmitted out of it. This made the host’s attack power decrease significantly.

However, when the mysterious golden metallic thread completely redesigned the <<Unbreakable Alloy>>, it totally removed this defect. Not only that, the mysterious demonic energy had even improved it! Now, when the host is within the Unbreakable Alloy, it enhances the transmission speed by at least ten times! But this only applied to the mysterious demonic energy. Any other demonic energy will not benefit from the changes.
