Chapter 51 Lin Qi’s Shocking Appearance

After straightening his bow tie, Lin Qi’s lips parted slightly, revealing exactly eight of his teeth in an exceptionally standard smile!

However, under the dim lighting, Lin Qi’s exceptionally white teeth shone ominously. The faces of Jin and his valet behind him paled abruptly. Jin instinctively reached for the doorknob to shut it in Lin Qi’s face.

But Lin Qi’s right elbow held the door in place and one of his legs had already entered the room. Despite exerting all of his strength, the door wouldn’t budge. After undergoing cruel training regimen of people like Tie Chui and Tu Dao since childhood, Lin Qi came to posses monstrous strength. So when the two were compared, Jin was just a young sprout under the warm shade while Lin Qi was the most tyrannical white shark in the depths of the North Sea.

“My dear Jin, I’ve missed you!” Lin Qi smiled gently at Jin while he exerted more strength with his right arm, gradually pushing open the heavy golden door. Jin pressed firmly against the door until blue veins on both of his hands popped out and sweat drenched his forehead.

“Goodness! Don’t tell me the Golden Rose is refusing a sincere customer?” Lin Qi looked in astonishment at the blue veins popping out on Jin’s hands due to his futile exertions. He opened the door three centimeters then used his left hand to reach into the secret pocket on his chest, taking out the golden note Blackbeard gave him and waving it calmly in front of Jin.

“Well, well, look here, I truly came to the Golden Rose to have some fun this time. One hundred thousand gold coins, dear Jin, one hundred thousand gold coins. Not one hundred, not one thousand, but one hundred thousand! One hundred thousand dazzling crowings!” Lin Qi’s eyes crinkled as he smiled happily. He knew Jin’s and his family’s greatest weakness.

They were a family of bankers. Although Jin caught just a glimpse under the dim lighting, he still noticed the amount and secret marks printed on the golden note very clearly. A golden note worth one hundred thousand gold coins produced by the imperial capital’s most prominent Silver Fir and Elephant Bank could be cashed in anywhere in the continent!

Jin’s hands on the door loosened and his face, which had been as white as paper a few  moments ago miraculously flushed from the blood that pumped from his heart. He grabbed Lin Qi’s hand with exceptional warmth, eagerly pulling him to the bar. Smiling while gesticulating excitedly, he said, “Oh, dear Lin Qi, you haven’t been to the Golden Rose for three years now! Without you these three years, Dunerk lost its luster. I’ve missed you a lot—missed you too much!”

Lin Qi laughed heartily and also put an affectionate arm around Jin’s shoulders as if hugging a statue of gold. He walked into the resting hall, smiling so happily that his lips never touched .

Enzo followed Lin Qi in amusement. ‘On the degree of fanaticism for gold coins, could there finally be someone on Lin Qi’s level?’ Just a moment ago, this unfortunate man named Jin feared Lin Qi as if facing off against a tiger, yet now, Jin unexpectedly took the initiative to pull Lin Qi into the Golden Rose!

“Gold coins, lovely gold coins, they truly possess strong magic often overshadowing even the gods!” Stroking his empty purse, Enzo couldn’t help but sigh. He found it strange though. ‘Where did that golden note worth one hundred thousand gold coins come from?’ One hundred thousand gold coins! Even after Enzo covertly counted with his fingers for a long while, he still couldn’t wrap his head around the value of that much money.

Thoroughly immersed in his fanaticism, Jin’s complexion was red as he strode into the resting hall, pulling Lin Qi along. He ignored the odd gazes from the extremely shocked young masters and mistresses. With a loud clap and a hearty laugh, he said, “Honorable ladies and gentlemen, please allow me to introduce you to a respected guest, Lin Qi. Our Mister Lin Qi has returned!”

Jin tilted his head, the corners of his mouth raised high. He clapped proudly and continued, “Lin Qi, the adorable Lin Qi everyone likes has brought a glittering golden note worth one hundred thousand gold coins! You want to go all out, right? Dear Lin Qi, what do you want to do tonight?”

The people inside the resting hall were suddenly enlightened, butt soon after were once again incomparably shocked.

They were enlightened on the sudden change in Jin’s attitude. For Jin and his family, as long as the lustrous golden light of gold coins shone on their faces, even if the King of Hell himself appeared to block them, they would still dare to draw their swords and launch suicide attacks. Compared to the King of Hell, what could a scoundrel like Lin Qi count for?

According to hearsay in Dunerk, Jin’s ‘Golden Lettuce’ family’s wasn’t up to much. Everyone was aware of the family’s practices—as long as there were enough benefits, they would sell their own parents and relatives; as long as there were enough benefits, they would even sell their own souls!

The resting hall sank into a strange stillness. No one uttered a word as everyone looked blankly at the simple and honest smile on Lin Qi’s face.

After the short silence, Lin Qi very gracefully and naturally bowed to everyone present. “Honorable ladies and gents, don’t tell me you don’t recognize me anymore? I am Lin Qi, your dearest Lin Qi! Oh, isn’t now the time for us to have fun? Why is everyone just sitting here in a daze? Don’t tell me this isn’t the time to have fun?”

Everyone present exchanged glances, and with strange expressions, they wondered if this courteous and graceful person was really the Lin Qi from their memories.

Could it be that the imperial capital had such miraculous magic that it changed Lin Qi? He literally transformed from a scoundrel into an aristocrat! Although he didn’t have the least bit of blue blood, there wasn’t the slightest flaw in any one of his movements. He truly resembled an aristocrat!

Jin once again clapped and gleefully said, “That’s right, why is everyone just sitting here? Let’s have fun!”

Mustering up his energy, Jin laughed loudly. “Well, tonight’s first activity will be the bloody and exciting animal-fighting finals! The two beasts appearing tonight will be a Golden-eyed Green Boa from the Dark Spirit Continent’s Black Forest and an Ice-armored Polar Bear from the Odin Ice Origin in the extreme north!”  

Patting Lin Qi’s shoulder in immense happiness, Jin opened his mouth to laugh heartily and say, “The lowest bet we will accept will be five hundred gold coins. My dear ladies and honorable gentlemen, the lowest bet we will accept will be five hundred gold coins!”

Lin Qi raised his eyebrows, smiled, and said, “Can I look at the two beasts first? Well, who’s willing to bet with me?”

Jin’s smile became even more dazzling.
