Afterword

Looks like it's time for me to write another afterword. Thank you very much for purchasing Rakudai Kishi no Eiyuutan Volume Zero. Riku Misora here, still unable to get a cat.

Since the end of the year, both my parents and I have been in a kerfuffle, so I haven't been able to usher in a new family member. But recently my parents have gotten settled down, so I spoke with three people from the foster care institution and finally started the process. The institution does things properly, so first they checked if the house is appropriate for raising a cat, and then there's a trial period for whether we're a good fit, and once that's done I can finally adopt. They said I should really consider the adoption carefully, so I was a little moved.

This volume was a first for Rakudai Kishi… or rather, it's my first time putting together a collection of short stories for one of my series. The main story is still in the middle of the Seven Stars Sword-Art Festival. Those are all about the battles, so these scenes of ordinary days were fun to write. Though they reminded me that, oh wait, this is an academy of superpowered battles (LOL). The next volume will go back to the main story as usual. Can Ikki-kun protect his virtue against the artist nicknamed "Kaleidoscope" and her many-colored abilities? Or will it turn into something like a naughty short comic? Volume seven is currently in production so please look forward to that.

Oh, I must touch on this! You've probably already seen the book wrapper, but Rakudai Kishi no Eiyuutan is being made into an anime! PHEEEEEW! I've been a light-novel author for four years (more or less?), and finally I've gotten this far.

Anyway, I'd like to thank my editor who helped me with revisions; Won-san, my energetic and wonderful illustrator; and Soramichi-san[1], who's adapting the manga for me on Gangan Online. And it's thanks to all the readers cheering me on that I could make this short story collection! Truly, truly, thank you all very much! The main story is at the second half of the Seven Stars Sword-Art Festival arc. I'll do my best not to lose to the manga and anime, so please stick around for that! See you again in volume seven!
