A thunderous noise echoed from the Royal Palace and simultaneously from Lili’s residence. The earth splintered, and dust filled the air. What was once a semi-destroyed courtyard had transformed into a ruin. Everyone present remained silent, their eyes fixated on the dusty scene. If they had a choice, they would have preferred to quietly slink away, escaping the suffocating fear.
Suddenly, a strong wind gust swept the dust away, revealing a small figure standing atop a human head. The figure was Lili, and the person beneath her foot was the Knight Order’s chief, Austin, his face planted in the ground, eyes and mouth wide open, unconscious.
Despite the predictability of this outcome, the spectators still felt disbelief seeing their chief defeated so quickly by the deputy. Austin had seemed to hold his own initially, but within two minutes, he was dominated and pummeled by Lili. Only his tenacity allowed him to resist immediate defeat.
“What a persistent pest!” Lili’s small hands clenched, her face uncharacteristically angry. She then glanced towards the dust-shrouded Royal Palace. Her fury was swiftly replaced by worry, ‘Please be safe!’ She took off like a bolt of lightning, none daring or capable of stopping her.
Lili raced through the empty streets and soon arrived at the entrance of the Royal Palace. There were numerous powerful individuals waiting, all with one goal—to obstruct the young girl before them.
“Move aside, or face death,” Lili warned, her voice stern, emanating an ominous aura of lethal intent. The crowd remained silent, their weapons drawn. Despite their fear, they kept their eyes on Lili, refusing to yield.
Just as Lili prepared to wreak havoc, her transmission bead began to vibrate rhythmically.
Meanwhile, some distance away, space above a wasteland roughly fifteen kilometers from Jade City began to tremble. It distorted as spatial energy radiated. A black city materialized in mid-air.
Inside the city, Yaeger turned to Little Blue and inquired, “Have we successfully evacuated the Palace?”
“Yes,” Little Blue nodded in affirmation.
“And the damages?”
“Due to our timely teleportation, the damages are minimal and easily fixable. I will camouflage the [City of Chaos] to blend in with the surroundings in the meantime.” She began to move her fingers as if playing a piano. Miraculously, the dark city merged into the night sky and vanished, leaving no trace of its existence.
Yaeger observed the transformation on the surveillance feed displayed by Little Blue. She felt a mix of shock and excitement. ‘My mobile fortress is amazing!’ The [City of Chaos], aside from successfully dispelling Alicia’s curse, was one of Yaeger’s most significant rewards after raiding the maze.
Yunuen had been exposed to many astonishing things lately, yet the [City of Chaos] left her utterly astounded. A [War Fortress] capable of teleportation and concealment—it was incredibly impressive!
“Master, would you like to survey the exterior?” Little Blue asked.
“Yes. But first, Alicia, have you managed to reach out to Lili? I’m somewhat worried about her,” Yaeger replied, turning towards Alicia.
“I did try contacting Lili earlier. She is safe. You need not worry,” Alicia reassured, smiling. She was overwhelmed with joy. Although the process had been strenuous, she had accomplished her objectives. ‘My [Child of Destiny] is truly remarkable,’ she credited Yaeger for their success. She was well aware that without Yaeger’s assistance, she might not have even survived entering the maze.
“Master, can we go outside now?” Little Blue gently pulled Yaeger’s sleeve, her eyes brimming with anticipation.
Despite having the capability to view the exterior world from inside the [City of Chaos], it had been an exceedingly long time since Little Blue had personally experienced the outside world. So long, in fact, that she couldn’t quite recall.
