AFTERWORD
Who was it?! Who said after the last one-page afterword that there’d be no more of those?! That would be me!
So this is Tappei Nagatsuki aka Mouse-Colored Cat. Heya, this feels a bit like old times now.
Anyway, about that afterword business, it’s just what it looks like! Previously, I shrank them down for the majority of Arc 4 as I reflected on the page-number issues, but sadly, I could not find a shred of repentance within me. If possible, go take a look at the afterword for Volume 15. In my defense, I did use the word maybe!
In any case, Re:ZERO has finally reached Volume 16. What a weighty number of volumes. With Arc 4 concluded, a year has passed for our cast, giving the characters a chance to spend a little time together as the curtain rises on Arc 5.
I believe that you understand this from having already read the book, but yes, this time, we have a huge ensemble of major characters! With the city of water Pristella as the stage, this will be where the tales of their amazing exploits are born. Whether they were royal-selection candidates or Witch Cultists, most were on the bench during Arc 4, so please enjoy watching these characters come roaring back as major developments unfold. It’ll be the death of Subaru!
Also, as an author, I am relieved that the passing of a year within the story gave me another opportunity to depict some peaceful, quiet moments for Subaru and company. (The only other chance until now came between Arcs 2 and 3.) I had plenty of those moments that I wanted to detail, so I hope you enjoy them all!
And so the time to depart has come once again. Allow me to dive into the customary thanks!
To Editor I, the end of the arduous battles of Arc 4 offered a brief moment of relief, but the mountain of issues continues on here in Arc 5! Let’s work hard on this together! Thank you very much!
To Otsuka, the illustrator, no matter how you slice it, the cover illustration has such amazing impact! I know you are all aware of this, but Otsuka really is incredible! Thank you very much!
To Kusano, the designer, the sheer power of the front cover’s makeup shows the strength of your designing! To be honest, the fight the illustrations and design put up every time is quickly becoming a running theme! Thank you very much!
And to Matsuse, who dived into the climax of the comic version of Arc 3, and to Fugetsu, who went with me to eat fried banana for that author close-up, I’ll be in your care for a while longer!
Besides that, to everyone at MF Bunko J publishing department, all the reviewers, the staff at every bookstore, the businesspeople, and many others, I’m indebted to every one of you! Truly, as always, thank you all so very much!
Also, this was announced on the bellyband around this volume, but a Re:ZERO OVA has finally been announced, so I’m forever indebted to all the anime staff, too! Please take good care of me!
