Commissioned Short Story – Secret Sleepover Meeting With The Girls 

Part 1 

"Then everybody, for those who will be able to stay over at Cross Field’s first block, I want to ask them to stay the night there tomorrow. Applicants have the time to raise their hand until after school." 

Those words that were suddenly announced caused the inside of the classroom to be stirred early in the morning. 

The Academy that existed in the first block of Cross Field. 

There was an assault by a mysterious force several days ago and a fierce battle unfolded in the campus. 

Due to the great effort of the Drag-Knights including Lux, that danger was safely overcame but??. 

"Just as you know, due to the aforementioned incident, the school building and girl dormitory were damaged. They had been repaired as much as possible. But the repair for a part of them is still not finished. The rooms of the girl dormitory are especially problematic, several people are even unable to sleep there in this situation. Therefore, the number of hands for the repair will be increased again for the whole day tomorrow." 

Here Raigree paused talking for a moment and looked around everyone in the class. 

"??But, during that time it will be a hindrance if there are people inside their room at that time. Thus, I’m taking application for volunteer to stay outside as a special case. The empty rooms will be used by students that cannot stay outside. Is there any question?" 

The instructor’s explanation finished and the class began. 

By the way, there were sixteen students who wished to stay outside. It was a number for eight room in total. 

(Staying outside, is it……. If possible it will be better for me to also stay outside though……) 

Lux was thinking while doing his chore after school??the cleaning up of the garden near girl dormitory. 

The girls who were attending this academy for cultivating Drag-Knight were mostly young lady of noble family. 

Although Cross Field’s public order was relatively good, some rascal or bandit would sometime appear. 

Surely it would be scary for them to have sleepover outside the Academy. 

"However, me staying outside huh……" 

He had experience sleeping out in the open air during his five years of livelihood doing chores, but as expected in his current position doing that would be problematic. 

If possible he wanted to raise his hand for the sake of the other girls, but staying outside would need money. 

He had a status as criminal in the new kingdom, and due to that he was burdened with debt that was a fraction of the national budget. He had no spare money. 

Even now he was paying for his school expense and food expense by borrowing from Relie. 

Normally he was doing chores, so he believed that there was no need for him to be really concerned about that but, 

(If I told Airi, it feels like she will laugh at me again, saying that’s really not fitting for a former prince……) 

He suddenly thought such thing and smiled wryly, then, 

"??My? So you are in this kind of place. I was looking for you Lux-kun." 

Suddenly the voice of a grown up female came from behind Lux. 

Relie Aingram. 

She was the headmaster of the Academy and the successor of a great conglomerate. She was also an old acquaintance of Lux. 

"Is it a request? For today there is still two more works, so if it’s after that then??" 

"You are not wrong with the point that I want it done for the last, but this is not chore work. I wonder, do you know about the case of the girl dormitory’s repair already?" 

"Yes. I heard at the classroom this morning but, don’t tell me???" 

When Lux somehow got an idea and said that, Relie showed him a meaningful smile. 

"Yes. As the headmaster, I’m also thinking a bit about that case. If possible, I want Lux-kun to also cooperate with the staying outside." 

That matter itself was something that Lux actually wished to participate himself, but, 

"I don’t mind but, if it’s an inn that is too expensive, my money won’t??" 

Relie’s sense of money couldn’t possibly be measured by Lux who was used to a poor life. 

When he was thinking about the price of a normal inn, it was possible that he wouldn’t be able to pay with the money that he had in hand. 

"Aah, you don’t need to worry about that. It will be free." 

Lux was perplexed hearing what Relie told him nonchalantly. 

"Free, you said……" 

Putting the burden on Relie was also something that would make him reluctant. 

"Hm? It’s an inn that I built, so there is no problem. The building itself is completed, but it’s still not opened yet. That’s why it’s free. You get it?" 

"……Ah, I understand." 

He understood that the common sense he was thinking with was in a different dimension from hers. 

When Lux answered like that in discomposure while sweating, 

"Then, the contract is established. If you can possibly report to me later about the comfortableness of staying there, it will be helpful." 

Relie made a smile and then left jauntily. 

"Will it be okay……" 

A place that was too high class would make him nervous though. 

Lux who was feeling a tinge of anxiety resumed his chore and passed the day.

And then, after the school the next day??, at evening when the surrounding was dyed with madder red color. 

Lux followed the route written in the map that Relie gave him and visited the inn at the first block. 

"??Is it fine here?" 

In the center of a trade and amusement district that was conspicuously bustling even amidst the first block, a large building was standing. 

The stone building that was equipped with a chimney might be provided with a large public bath at minimum. 

Its appearance was the very definition of a high class inn for noble, from its wood material, the luster of the brick, and the design, it seemed like it took a lot of money to build it. 

When Lux rang out the bell in front of the large door, the door was opened from inside. 

"Welcome, please enter inside." 

A butler clad in dress suit welcomed Lux inside while greeting him. 

Next a maid who served as the reception came to him. 

He heard that it still hadn’t opened officially, but it seemed that it already had staffs. 

Lux was slightly perplexed in this situation where he was inexperienced with, then, 

"I will carry your baggage until the room, Lux Arcadia-sama." 

"Ah, that’s all right. I can carry it myself so??" 

Lux tried to refuse like that at the suggestion a maid girl wearing white prim, but, 

"No. I’m grateful for your consideration, but I judged that it’s unnecessary to act reserved. This is my role after all." 

"I……see, then please??wait, why is Noct here!?" 

Lux reflexively raised his voice loudly when he noticed that fact. 

The maid girl before him was a member of the famous trio in the Academy??the Triad. 

"……Nii-san, please don’t be so loud. It makes my concentration broke in the middle of my reading." 

"Even Airi is here!? Why in the world??!?" 

Seeing his little sister addressing him from the second floor’s atrium, Lux raised a bewildered voice once more. 

"It’s not just missy Airi here, Lux-kun." 

"You’re finally here eh, Lux-chi. Everyone is already gathered y’know" 

Looking carefully, he noticed that the staff in butler outfit just now was one of the Triad, Sharis. 

And then even Tillfur in her uniform appeared beside Airi. 

"Why, everyone of the Triad is???" 

Airi and the Triad approached beside Lux who was dumbfounded. 

"However, personally I’m a bit shocked. You were completely tricked thinking me as a male staff. Even like this I have quite the size for breast though. ??I’m really hurt, young man." 

"Ah, I, I’m sorry." 

When Lux who was poked by Sharis who dressed like a male became flustered, she smiled wryly saying "It’s a joke". 

"Yes. However, I judged that Sharis simply reap what she sow. In the first place, it was you who planned 'this' after all." 

"Eh……!? That’s, you mean……" 

A bad premonition came inside Lux. 

Certainly this morning Airi talked to him about staying outside, but, 

"I’ll say this beforehand, I’m pretty much opposing this you know? I thought that perhaps I should let Nii-san to relax alone in a place without girl sometimes, but……" 

"……Ah, it’s Lu-chan." 

At that moment, the door inside opened and another girl showed up. 

The familiar pink hair and expressionlessly absentminded face were definitely the feature of his childhood friend Philuffy. 

She was wearing casual clothes that he had never really seen in Academy??a pure white blouse, and chic black skirt with short length. In a glance it was a combination of subdued color, but it emphasized the presence of her large breasts and Lux’s gaze was naturally nailed to it. 

"Eh, Philuffy also came here?" 

The entrance of his hidden roommate caused Lux to be even more confused. 

If he remembered correctly, Philuffy didn’t say anything about staying outside at this morning but??, 

"Just before this, Onee-chan told me, to stay in this inn." 

"…………" 

His thinking was naïve. 

There was no way Relie who was doting to her little sister wouldn’t arrange this kind of 'coincidence'. 

She was hiding the truth until just before, trying to make Lux and Philuffy to stay in the same inn. 

(Even though we have been staying in the same room already every day, she doesn’t need to do something like this too??) 

Lux was bewildered while noticing something out of place. 

"But……, for Airi to be here too???" 

"This is the so called beautiful sibling love y’know, Lux-chi." 

In respond to Tillfur’s words, Airi cleared her throat *cough* and cut in. 

"When I heard from Nii-san about you staying outside, I questioned the headmaster and made her talk. There was no way I can let Nii-san to stay outside with only Philuffy-san, so I suggested that I along with the Triad will also stay here. And then Sharis-senpai thought about surprising Nii-san??" 

"…………" 

He understood the full picture with that one sentence. 

Lux was somewhat nervous about staying at the inn that was affiliated with Aingram conglomerate, but he was a bit relieved inside his heart seeing that everyone here was his acquaintance. 

(No but wait a second……. In the end the fact that I’m the only man here doesn’t change though???) 

Wasn’t it something he should be even more nervous about……? 

"Well, in any case, let’s cooperate with each other to pass through this night! By the way Lux-kun. I want to ask you to go shopping for the dinner though, will you do it?" 

"Ah, yes. I’ll go." 

Lux nodded at Sharis’s request and everyone entrusted money to him, then he went outside.

"Even so, it become something difficult huh……" 

He picked up food with somewhat larger quantity and good quality as much as possible. 

If it was just him alone, then he would be able to finish this with just cheap and simple dish, but as expected he would have to be considerate with several other girls also staying there with him. 

Lux was in charge of shopping for food was because there was mostly no girl who had ever gone shopping for food ingredient in the city. And with Lux alone, he also wouldn’t be standing out. Those were Airi’s thinking. 

"Certainly it’s better to not stand out, but I wish at least one girl will come along with me." 

"My? Why is that I wonder?" 

"As expected, I don’t understand what kind of food a girl will like, I’m confused what will everyone like to eat." 

"I think you don’t need to be thinking that hard you know? But, if the number of people is quite many, then it will be desirable to have some variation of the food. I believe what is necessary to be put inside that basket will be some fruit for dessert." 

"Ah, you’re right. As expected from Krulcifer-san. ??Since when you are there!?" 

Lux finally noticed the girl beside him after talking quite much and yelled so. 

"You were talking along with me really well there, so I thought you had noticed right from the beginning." 

The girl with bluish white long hair and beautiful look that was fairy-like said that while brushing up her hair coolly. 

"Why is Krulcifer-san in this kind of place???" 

"It’s a coincidence I think?" 

"…………" 

Lux couldn’t say anything in front of the smile with deep meaning of this overseas student. 

"If I have to expose the trick, it’s because I have a bit of business with you. You see, it seems that a reservation for two can be made in a nearby inn." 

"That’s, could it be……?" 

"Yes. If you like, I’m thinking to invite you there. But??as expected this is too sudden and I got beaten to the punch. It was careless of me." 

"……Sorry. That, it might be impossible if Krulcifer-san had already put a reservation there but, if you like, then Krulcifer-san can also stay over??" 

"Thank you. I was waiting for that word." 

Krulcifer chuckled slightly and stood at his side. 

"Then, seeing that we have two people here for carrying things, let’s continue the shopping for a bit more. Lux-kun want at least a girl to accompany you right?" 

"Ah, yes." 

When he noticed, he had already got carried by Krulcifer’s pace. 

Even when her plan crumbled, she immediately corrected her course flawlessly. Lux thought that it was really like her. 

After that, they shopped for a while before Lux and Krulcifer returned to the inn??. 

"You are slow Lux! How long you are planning to make me wait!" 

"Why even Lisha-sama is coming here!?" 

When he opened the door, the petite girl who was the princess of the new kingdom was standing there with folded arms, wearing uniform and a white gown above it. 

"A, about that……. The Drag-Ride atelier can be used for sleepover, so I was thinking to have you accompany me there for a bit and so I went looking for you……. No wait, why is Krulcifer beside you huh!?" 

"I only met him by chance because our shopping destination was the same. More importantly, surely you were trying to have sleepover together with him in your own way, but as expected, I think it’s questionable to make other person to sleep in that atelier……" 

"Wha-……!?" 

When Krulcifer pointed that out with a really doubtful expression, Lisha’s face went red and she got flustered, then, 

"My stomach is empty, let’s make dinner soon, okay?" 

Philuffy in her casual clothes interrupted with an indifferent face and stopped the two. 

As expected, Philuffy who was always in her own pace was strong in this kind of time. 

Lux thought of such thing. After that he was going to use the kitchen of the inn and cooked for everyone. 

"Fuh, the prince can just take rest for a bit. To tell you the truth??we’ve got nothing to do until now!" 

"Yep yep! I thought I was going to die from feeling too bored!" 

"No. I think you who didn’t help with the bed making have no right to say that, Tillfur." 

Each of the three members of Triad said that and took on the cooking duty. 

Lux followed what he was told and took a break at the entrance. By the time the nice smell of cooking was drifting??. 

*Knock knock*. The sound of light knocking could be heard. 

"Who is it? At this kind of time??" 

Airi who was sitting on the chair in front of him tilted her head and murmured. 

It was indeed strange. This inn still hadn’t been opened formally, and there should be no signboard put up yet, and yet. 

"Excuse me. I, is there an empty room in this inn that can be used? That’s, it will help if I can stay just for one night if possible." 

While they were thinking that, the voice of a young girl unexpectedly came saying that. 

However, as expected there was no way they could make arbitrary decision to allow a normal customer to stay. 

"No. This inn is still not opened."

Lux noticed something in the middle of conversation. 

The voice and tone felt familiar somehow to him. Thinking that it wasn’t possible, he opened the door. There??. 

"Even Celis-senpai!? Why are you in this kind of place??" 

The appearance of the very unexpected person caused Lux to yell unconsciously. 

"Lu, Lux!? Why are you here??!? Is this where you are having sleepover outside!?" 

Both sides were surprised, so first Lux explained about the situation. 

After that, he also asked Celis about her circumstance. Then she averted her face looking as though it was really hard for her to say. 

"Eerr, about that……. A junior of mine planned to stay outside, but suddenly she became unable and was troubled. That girl isn’t really knowledgeable about Cross Field, so I accepted to take her place in staying outside and went out but??. When I went to look, the inn where I planned to stay had gone bankrupt……" 

Celis hung her head down, her shoulders dropped dejectedly. 

"Err, if Celis-senpai doesn’t mind, you can stay together with us here." 

"I’m in your debt Lux! I will repay this favor back without fail!" 

Seeing Celis’s sparkling eyes, Lux smiled wryly while calling out to everyone.

In the end, the dishes that were made from the ingredients that he bought a lot of were settled inside everyone’s stomach without any leftover. 

After that everyone chatted with each other before the time for sleeping arrived, but then??. 

"This is troubling. ??To think that there is not enough beds." 

"I had somehow thought that this will be the case……" 

Krulcifer’s murmur was responded by Airi with a really complicated face. 

Although the inn still wasn’t open, but there was some rooms that could be used, and yet because the number of people increased too many, the beds weren’t enough. 

Furthermore they could only prepare a big room for use of group customer. Everyone had to sleep in the same room. 

"What’s more, we only lack one bed coincidentally……. So, what to do now?" 

No one replied back to Lisha’s muttering. 

But, Philuffy who had changed into negligee entered into a bed the very fist and, 

"It’s fine. It’s a bit cramped but, Lu-chan can also enter here you know?" 

She rubbed her eyes sleepily while saying that. At that moment, the surrounding became noisy. 

"Oi wait! What are you saying this airheaded girl! As expected that will be ba??" 

"Uwaa!? I think I still haven’t finished my heart’s preparation……" 

Lisha and Tillfur started to make noise, and Lux was also flustered. 

When Celis who saw that tried to calm them down, Krulcifer smiled coolly. 

"That’s quite a good idea. Then, how about everyone sleep on the bed, and if Lux-kun come asking, then it will be by each one’s own judgment whether to lend a space or not. How about that?" 

"Eeeeh!?" 

Just when he thought the situation would surely be settled, Lux became even more flustered with Krulcifer’s suggestion. 

"Please wait! I won’t allow such indecent act! Sleeping together is only for those below ten years old, that is the precept of my Ralgris house??" 

"Oh? Celis, could it be, if Lux-kun ask if he could borrow a sleeping space, will you plan to do something indecent? Well, he is also a man, it’s not unreasonable to be unable to trust him but??" 

(I think that’s not the problem……!) 

When Lux was going to retort at Sharis’s statement??, 

"I, I absolutely won’t do anything like that. Be, besides I believe in Lux??I understand. Please come to my bed anytime you like!" 

"No, that’s no good you know!? How does it become like that!?" 

Celis became triggered by Sharis’s provocation and in the end even the person of common sense Celis became flustered. 

"Then, then I too will……. Tha, that is??, it will be only half okay!" 

Lisha who saw that also entered the room timidly, then everyone followed. 

In the end everyone entered the bed and turned off the light. 

"……Haa. In a sense, this is relaxing I think." 

After Lux was paralyzed for a while, he moved to the entrance. 

And then, with a leftover blanket in hand, he slept on a large sofa. 

"Good night, everyone."

Part 4 

Inside the big room after Lux vanished, voices could be heard from the darkness. 

"As expected, there is no sign he is coming to anyone’s bed isn’t it? I have expected it but??" 

"……You are going to say something like that despite having been expecting it, Krulcifer?" 

"Yes, either way he will surely say that he will endure, so surely it will end without any fuss." 

After answering like that to Lisha’s voice, the night grew deeper along with the silence.

However the sleepover that should have ended without any incident was disturbed with a commotion that occurred the next morning. 

Unnoticed, Philuffy was sleeping together with Lux at the entrance. According to her, 

'When going back from the toilet, I was sleepy and mistook my own bed.' She said.
