ShangriLa Frontier Chapter 359: Dragon! Dragon! Part 24 Part 2
Dragging Memento Mori on the ground and creating a line there, I at the same time brandish Aradval Rebuild, whose fire is now burning especially bright, most probably because the weapon was sensing that the dragon hunt was getting to an end here. And right in between of the two colliding masses there was I, a mere human.
「This is technically not a two swords style skill, but rather a double handling skill!」
Perhaps because I was mostly using twin swords and anti-blade swords most of the time, the only skills I could call my trump cards that could be used here are related to dual wielding. A shame, but what can you do?
But then again, look on the bright side: I am able to use those skills right now.
「Alright, time for the baton pass!」
Four heads of the Great Red Devourer bundle together and unleash one singular breath attack that directly hits the left head of tri-headed Tyranno. As a result, the tri-headed Tyranno rolls backwards. However, blowing such a huge attack just to get one enemy off your back leaves you open for attack from another enemies. Because of that, I am already within the attack range and there is absolutely nothing that the Great Red Devourer can do in order to prevent this.
「Alll….. RIGHT!!!」
Activating Hecaton’s Edge! It’s your turn now, Aradval Rebuild! Got to town!
One strike, one flash. After busting out such a big move before, the Great Red Devourer is unable to move or dodge the incoming attack, which results in a singular scorching line being engraved upon its body.
One strike, two flashes. The oversized sword is being swung with only one hand. A single blow that was way harder than it looked to be, scattering two separate light effects on the body of my opponent.
One strike, four flashes. Eight flashes. Sixteen flashes. Thirty two flashes. As I keep on swinging Memento Mori around, dealing damage to the main body, Aradval Rebuild can stay on the lookout for any small fries that are in the vicinity and dispose of them if need be. It also keep on spewing out flames everywhere.
「Hey, hey, not that I’m not glad that you’re not forgetting about hospitality here……」
But this level of speed is not enough to be able to catch up with me. And even if it was, I am going to get rid of all of them in an instant.
I activate yet another skill: “Limit Over Acelerator”. This skill evolved from the skill Formula Drift, this skill is somewhat non-standard, as it accelerates you by doubling the amount of both your Agility and Dexterity, but only for a couple of seconds. If I am not good at handling it, this can actually lead to a rather painful self-destruction, but…… I was more than sure that as I was right now, I would be more than able to control it. And I was able to do just that.
The four heads themselves tried to go after me next, but thanks to my Godly speed I was able to outmaneuver them, but not without having to put in some actual effort. All the while I continued to hacking away at them with the help of Hecaton’s Edge…… Sixty four hits.
Good thing that the Great Red Devourer is not some sort of super AI that learns its opponents’ attack patterns as the battle rages on. That way, a player that can think ahead when it comes to their actions and skills will always be at the advantage here.
Otherwise, I am sure that it would understand that the very next blow would be the one that was going to decide the results of this fight.
Sadly, the AI behind Great Red Devourer was inorganic and set to only be able to act and think in the simplest of ways. Its emotions and behaviors are only the product of the programming…… That’s just the way it is.
That is why it chose the worst possible action here: to close its mouth and protect the weak spot that was inside of it.
「Thanks for making my job here even easier!」
Activating “Sharp Connection Point” and having it on stand-by.
I strike Aradval Rebuild vertically into the ground and raise Memento Mori up. I then jump in the air, pointing Memento Mori forward, using Aradval’s hilt as the foothold and a ramp at the same time.
This next skill is the two-handed one, so in order to use it I need to prepare myself first, taking the sword in both of my hands. But with that, both the launch pad and the warhead…… No, here it would be the “bladehead” are ready to pierce their mark.
「Brace yourself!」
Are the heads still targeting me? Or is it preparing itself to be able to escape? It doesn’t even matter at this point. I cannot be stopped here, and even if I were to die because of it, I was going to make that attack connect and end it all. It’s a shame that this perverted slut is ot filming this, for it would have been a blast to watch on loop every night before falling asleep.
Aradval Rebuild slides into the ground as I launch myself in the air, intending to slide Memento Mori into the Red Dragon.
Making a swing in here would do me no good, as the air resistance would make the swing lose its power. But changing a swing into a thrust, it eliminates all the possible problems, making sure the blade would reach its mark.
It uses almost all of my stamina in order to reach the main body and push the sword forward, but it was all worth it…… The blade managed to easily penetrate the closed fangs of the torso mouth and slide its way inside of it, going towards the weak point.
But at that moment the blade that was so light up until that point met with some kind of a pressure. I had to strengthen my grip on the sword’s hilt, otherwise the shock here would be more than enough to make me lose it…… And then I saw two things.
One was the rib fangs that were all shattering into fine dust, opening the red orb to the next attacks, making it sway and shake in the night air.
The other thing was that all of the heads have fully regrown now and were pointed right at me, red lights of lasers accumulating inside of them and ready to fire in order to obliterate me.
I see? Apparently I did something that absolutely would not be forgiven here. I don’t think I will be able to escape this the second time here, but oh well…… I guess it’s alright. I’ve had a good run here. I must hope that others will be able to pull through here.
Since you are a Raid Boss monster, what are you going to do next, hmm? At a time like that, the only thing that comes to mind is No Continue Clear.」
「Nope, Mister No Continue Clear Sanraku-kun, as if you are the one who can talk……」
What was that?
「“CASTLING!!!”」
All of a sudden, my point of view changes. Right now I am looking straight at the Great Red Devourer, even though it should have been way above me at the current moment.
And looking down, there is a person with a long staff standing precisely at the place where I was standing not so long ago.
「Fufun…… It’s totally fine with me if you would like to get on your knees and fall in love with me on the spot, you know?」
「Now, listen here you little……」
No, now is neither time nor the place……
However, just as I was about to point that out, there was a loud roar followed up by the seven huge explosions that raised a high barrier of both wind and dark smoke around here.
「Kuh…… Let’s go, everyone! It’s time to get rid of that thing once and for all!」
There was a whole lot more of things I wanted to say here, but for now let’s just limit ourselves to this: kill the enemy that is before us! Just you wait, Great Red Devourer! We are going to get rid of you so hard that you won’t be able to realize what actually hit you!
