The girl gazed at the golden radiance from the ruined city.

It was a girl of small stature with a face greatly resembling that of Yukina Himeragi.

The girl’s clothes also strongly resembled the uniform of Saikai Academy, but the sailor suit had a slightly different design. The eyes with which she gazed up at the night sky of Nod glowed crimson like rubies.

“We came to watch over things just in case, but our turn didn’t come up, huh?”

The girl looked down at the older half-sister sitting beside her as she spoke. Wearing a white coat, her older sister had an ultrathin tablet on her knees as she sat on the roof of a tall tower at the center of the artificial isle.

“I suppose not. Well, it’d be trouble for us if we had to intervene at a time like this, too.”

The older sister replied bluntly, still with a straw in her mouth, its other end jammed into a tomato juice pack. The first girl pursed her lips slightly.

“Yeah, but it makes you worry, though. I mean, what’ll happen down the road if it’s this hard a fight against just a Deva?”

“…Yet in terms of results, he accomplished his objective, and in a way that could not be more perfect.”

The older sister smiled a bit. From the screen of her tablet, a 3D image of a badly sewn teddy bear was smiling sarcastically up at her.

“Obtaining twelve Blood Servants, thus regaining his power as the Fourth Primogenitor, Kojou Akatsuki has come one step closer to being the ruler of the Empire of the Dawn.”

Still looking up at the starless night sky, the girl voiced the words like a theatrical line.

Giggle, laughed her older sister, smiling with amusement.

“There’s still a long way to go for that. At the very least, he’s protected the possibilities linked to our future.”

“Yep.”

“So let’s give them a little freebie for all their hard work, shall we?”

Speaking those words, the girl in the white coat executed a file she’d put together on the fly. Strange magical symbols were drawn on the surface of her tablet. The girl felt a network of demonic energy coursing out.

The girl smiled, staring at the side of her older sister’s lovely face with a hint of surprise.

“You’re more of a softie than I thought, Moegi.”

“Well, I have to show filial piety once in a while.”

Speaking in the candid manner she’d inherited from her mother, the girl’s older sister—Moegi—shrugged her shoulders.

Yeah, said the girl’s silent nod.

Over six thousand artificial vampires still slept within the artificial isle the girls were at, each innocent, guileless icons in which dwelled Beast Vassals on par with those of the primogenitors. It would be hard work giving all of them peaceful lives. Such was the dream for the future the man called the Sinful God had cursed them with.

The two girls believed Kojou Akatsuki would make this dream come true.

He’d come to Nod and retaken his power to do just that.

So, too, would he make his triumphant return to the island that would be called the Empire of the Dawn, his servants at his side.

“Welcome back, Kojou. See ya later.”

Tee-hee, giggled the girl with a mischievous smile as the girls were surrounded by golden mist, and vanished.

All that remained in the ruined skyline was the quiet rush of the waves.
