Chapter 41: A flaw in the strategy (1)
“Kou Jie Jie (Sister Kou)?” Probably because she is only exposed to Qin Zhi Ai’s back, the person who called out her name seemed unsure, a tint of hesitance in her voice.
Why is it that the more she wants to avoid, the more she can’t?
Hearing this voice, a dull pain torments Qin Zhi Ai’s head. She intuitively acts as if she did not hear those words and quickens her steps out of the area.
However, the person who called her is not ready to let her leave. Raising her voice, she once again called out, “Kou Jie Jie”, and starts to chase after Qin Zhi Ai.
Jiang Qian Qian is already fast on her heels, Qin Zhi Ai can not longer avoid contact… Qin Zhi Ai subconsciously furrows her brows.
After which, she straightened her expression and turned over to face Jiang Qian Qian, the corners of her lips curling upwards, “Qian Qian.”
“Kou Jie Jie, it’s really you! I’ve called you a few times but you did not respond. I thought I had identified the wrong person.” Jiang Qian Qian let out a woeful expression.
Having dealt with Jiang Qian Qian a few times since she started impersonating Liang Dou Kou, Qin Zhi Ai had developed some understanding of her. Seeing from how excited Jiang Qian Qian is when approaching her, Qin Zhi Ai knows Jiang Qian Qian must have gotten hold of some faults of Liang Dou Kou and wants to embarrass her.
While Qin Zhi Ai resents the childishness of this couple in her heart, she maintains the smile on her face, “There are too many people in the house, I did not hear you.”
Qin Zhi Ai thought Jiang Qian Qian will harp on the issue but to her surprise, Jiang Qian Qian is unusually amiable, “Is that so… That’s true, it’s a little chaotic in here…”
Jiang Qian Qian hooks onto Qin Zhi Ai’s arm and pulls her towards the group she was conversing with previously, as though she is fearful Qin Zhi Ai will refuse, “Kou Jie Jie, it’s been a long time since we met, everybody missed you. Let’s go meet them.”
When they got closer to the group, Qin Zhi Ai caught whiff of the direction of their conversation. They are talking about their husbands.
“A few days ago, my husband went to France and bought a bag back for me. It’s so ugly, see, this is the one. Do all men have such bad taste?” The corpulent lady standing in front of Qin Zhi Ai pointed at a limited edition bag that just came out this month, a look of disgust on her face. Nonetheless, she could not hide the sense of pride in her voice.
“I had thought that it is just my husband that has such bad sense of beauty, now I know everyone faces the same problem. Look at my necklace, the diamond is so big and unbalanced…”
Following, the lady standing beside Qin Zhi Ai put on a vexed look and adds, “… I agree, the one at my house always brings presents back for me whenever he goes on a business trip. One example is this pair of shoes I’m wearing that costs six digits. It’s such a pity if I don’t wear it but it’s so hard to pair it with my clothes…”
“It’s like this on my side too…”
