 Sheng Yize was very happy about that .

 Finally, no public square dancing!

 Jubilant, Mr . Sheng tidied up the entire house, humming a tune as he worked . He then played building blocks with Cola and Pepsi .

 Cola and Pepsi were almost in tears .

 At about nine o’clock, Pepsi looked around and suddenly realized that her mama wasn’t there .

 The video call soon went through .

 “Pepsi! Pepsi! This is Little Bai!” Si Bai’s young voice came from the other end . He was surprised when he saw Sheng Yize’s face on the screen . “Good evening, Father-in-law . ”

 The corner of Sheng Yize’s mouth twitched . “How many times do I have to tell you: don’t call me Father-in-law! I haven’t given you consent to marry my daughter!”

 Si Bai pursed his lips . “But…”

 “No buts . Say what you have to say, or I’ll hang up . Pepsi needs her sleep . ”

 He had drawn it with crayons at nursery school the other day . It said “Little Bai and Pepsi are married!” over the top, which, despite the childish handwriting, looked very sincere .

 Si Bai pointed at a lower corner . “But Pepsi has signed it!”

 At the bottom of that drawing was a little handprint . Judging from its size, it could belong to no one else but his daughter Pepsi!

 “We made this deal when we met last time!” Si Bai said proudly .

 That brat!

 Sheng Yize was very frustrated .

 Pepsi went up to him and babbled at the screen .

 “Brother…”

 “Pepsi, good girl . Not ‘brother’ now . Call me ‘honey’!” Si Bai instructed in a serious tone .

 Pepsi obeyed immediately . “Ho’ey!”

 Sheng Yize pressed his hand to his chest .

 Oh, what heartache .

 “Good girl, Pepsi! I’ll go see you during the Spring Festival! I’ve prepared a lot of gifts for you!”

 Pepsi giggled .

 The two went on prattling like this for a while until Si Bai cleared his throat and said, “Now, it’s time for your milk and bed . Good night . ”

He then kissed the screen .
