Rin’s Mewling
On the way to the capital aboard the Flygear Port, conversation was a natural way to pass the time.
“So that strange creature is your pet?” the Flygear Port’s captain asked.
“Ah, yes, she is,” Rafinha answered as Rin burrowed her way into Inglis’s shirt.
“An unusual pet, indeed. She seems to be quite shy.”
“Oh, sorry.” Rafinha was, to be honest, anything but sorry; Rin’s shyness may have been a little awkward, but if she was out of sight, it was less likely someone would find out she was a magicite beast.
“Caring for a pet has its own dangers. Take good care of her!” the captain cautioned. In a world with the Prism Flow, it was difficult to keep pets, as they could be transformed into magicite beasts.
Then the captain thought back on the past. “When I was young, I had a pet too, but it became a magicite beast. Although I have sad memories from that, it’s also what led me to become a knight.”
“Of course! If I can’t protect Rin, then there’s no way I’ll be ready to be a knight!”
“That’s what I wanted to hear! Actually, though, I’m curious now. What does she sound like?”
“I’m not really sure, honestly. Chris, do you know?”
“I don’t think I’ve ever heard her speak either.” As Rin peeked out from Inglis’s neckline, feigning ignorance, Inglis tried to coax her into indulging them. “C’mon, Rin. Say something for us.” But even a poke or two for encouragement produced nothing but an aloof stare.
“We’re gonna figure this out one way or another!” Rafinha declared.
“Huh? How?”
“Oh, I’ve got an idea. Close your eyes, Chris.”
“Okay...”
“There!”
Inglis felt a pair of hands slip under her arms. “Wh—?! What are you doing, Rani?!”
“Hold still for me!” Rafinha squeezed Inglis’s breasts together, and Rin, caught between them, squirmed and struggled.
“Kweh!” came the small sound from Rin.
“Oh, so that’s what she sounds like,” Rafinha said.
“Sheesh, Rani. If you’re not going to show me any pity, at least show her some.”
“Sorry, sorry. But now we know!”
And thus, a new truth was revealed.
