Rebecca can't say if it's already evening or not, since no clock can be found in the room, she can only guess that it's already evening because the servant brought her last meal for the day.

She released a deep sigh.

The only thing she can do is lie in the bed, walk around the room, go to the bathroom, eat her meals, and continue pondering about her situation all day and all night long. She only sleeps whenever she feels like it or when she feels so sleepy and can't fight her sleepiness.

Sometimes she feels afraid that they will do something bad to her while she was sleeping. Ever since she found out that she can no longer activate her power she becomes fearful for her safety. Unlike when she was still powerful - she's naturally brave and faces any enemies head-on.

Now she was reduced to an ordinary person.

She hated to be like this!

She hated it when she becomes powerless!

She becomes a coward and always fearful of what's going to happen to her.

It's messing up with her mentality!

She needs to get out of this room!

But how?

"HOWWWWWWWWWWWW!?" she screamed at the top of her lungs.

Suddenly the small opening of the wall near the door opened but there was no meal...the face of the servant took a peek inside the room.

Rebecca ran towards the opening. "Are you going to let me out now!?" she asked excitedly.

"Wait for a few minutes... make yourself presentable because the King will come into your room to see you!" the servant woman said.

"Okay, I will!" Rebecca smiled broadly.

The servant shut the opening and walked away from the room.

Rebecca felt relieved, it's better to meet the King and be done with it than be kept in the dark all the time. After meeting the King, maybe she can gain his favor and then find the right opportunity to escape. Once she's out of this room and she will be on the King's side, she will be able to study and observe the whole mansion and its surroundings and it will be easy for her to escape.

Then she remembered what the servant had told her. She needs to make herself presentable so that she can gain the King's favor!

Right!

She bolted towards the closets and inspected the colorful clothes there.

She found the one!

It's a figure-hugging sexy velvet dress, it looks attractive to the eyes!

She went to the bathroom and took a quick shower, then changed into the red dress.

She faced the mirror and began brushing her hair. She stared at herself in the mirror - she was still wearing Laura's image.

Once her power was restricted she can no longer restore her original image. It looks like she will be stuck with Laura's image for a while until such time she can regain her power back.

She released a troubled sigh.

Time to face the enemy, getting to know him, and find a way how to defeat him... if she can't defeat him then escape is her only option.

She's done beautifying herself without spending a long time in front of the mirror. Actually, Laura's face is naturally beautiful without makeup. Her beauty stands out above any mortal woman.

She sat on the bed...waiting for the King.

A few minutes later...she's getting bored and tired sitting.

She's been sitting on the bed for a long time and the King has not arrived yet!

Where is he!?

Why does it take him so long to arrive in the room?

Suddenly she starts yawning... dang! ... she's feeling sleepy.

To hell with the King! She will take a nap for a few minutes. She lay down on the bed and shut her eyes preparing to sleep.

Minutes went by.

Rebecca was already in a deep slumber.

All of a sudden... a figure of a man materialized inside the room. He was wearing a black attire from head to toe, he wore a black hooded cape, his face was concealed by the hood.

He walked towards the bed and stared at the woman sleeping on the bed. He peered at her face closely. "So...this is the bride...?" he murmured to himself grinning with amusement.

He watched Rebecca's face in concentration for a long time - then his brows furrowed in confusion... and after a while, he erupted into amused laughter. "I see..."

He was massaging his chin finding everything hilarious.

He waved his hand all over Rebecca's form.

A few minutes later.

Rebecca was finally awakened from her deep slumber and when she opened her eyes, she saw a guy wearing a black hooded cape staring at her face a few feet away.

Oh, no! The King is already inside the room!

She sits upright, left the bed, stand straight, and bowed her head in front of the King, showing her respect. "My King, I'm so sorry. I apologize for sleeping... I didn't know you were coming!" she said apologetically.

"So...your name is Laura?" the guy asked.

"Yes, My King!" Rebecca nodded her head. The King's voice sounds melodious and gentle, not scary at all.

"Are you ready to marry me and become my Queen... Laura?" asked the guy.

"Yesss!" Rebecca declared brightly.

"Fantastic!" the guy said, chuckling. "Have you seen my face before?" he asked while studying the movement of her eyes.

Rebecca shook her head. "No... I haven't seen your face before, My King," she answered nervously. With the way his voice sounds, he seemed to be a gentle kind of guy. Hopefully, he doesn't have a hideous look.

"I see... do you want to see my face now or later during our wedding ceremony?" the guy asked with mild amusement running in his voice.

"I want to see your face now, My King! Please...grant my request!" she replied eagerly.

"Okay, I'm going to show you my face now..." he said.

The guy laughed for a few seconds finding everything amusing, then he slowly took the hood away from his face.

His face was now in full display for Rebecca to stare at.

Rebecca's eyes widened and her heart beats faster in her rib cage. She was slowly shaking her head. A terrified look was flashing on her face. "Noooo!"

The guy stared at her paper-white face. "What-? Did you change your mind now after seeing my true face? You don't want to marry me anymore?" he asked her in amusement.

Rebecca was stunned! Is this the King that she was going to marry? She clutched at her chest, she finds it hard to breathe after seeing the King's face. Then she saw darkness in her vision and she fainted.

The guy moved at lightning speed and was quick enough to catch Rebecca's body before she collapsed on the floor. "Poor girl!" he murmured and placed the girl back into the bed.

He was snickering while looking at the unconscious woman on the bed.

He'd never laugh this way for a long time and he likes the feeling so much. He scared the bride! And he's loving it!

He needs to leave the room now! Before the others will discover his tricks! It will be hard to explain to them why he's doing all this, entering the bride's room secretly. They won't understand if he will explain to them the reason why. They don't want him to get involved.

He looked at the woman for a few minutes then disappeared from the room.

He appeared in another room inside the huge mansion still laughing hard. He went to the bed and lay down chuckling.

Done laughing... he stood up and went to the mirror and ripped the mask away from his face.

He looked at his real image in the mirror, grinning triumphantly.

"Poor girl!" he muttered to himself.

Then he was reduced in deep thoughts.

With the ceremony on the way...

Parading that girl in front of the high esteemed guest that traveled from far away places just for this important occasion to witness the rise of the King from his deep slumber... well... everyone will be disappointed for sure! There's going to be a catastrophe!

He entered the forbidden room just to see for himself his brother's bride!

She is an impostor!

One week later.

The bridge was finally repaired!

Early in the morning, Laura and Graven resumed their journey towards the town of Hallowpass.

"It's a good day to travel, the rain is gone and the sun is shining brightly in the sky!" Laura commented animatedly as they entered the carriage.

"Yeah, it's a good day to travel," Graven agreed.

The couple settled comfortably inside the carriage.

A few minutes later, the carriage began moving forward, away from the inn.

Graven looked at Laura's pretty face. "Are you excited to go home?" he asked.

"Yes!" Laura nodded her head. "I miss my father, mother, my sister, my room, and our house!" she beamed excitedly.

Graven smiled and kissed her head. "We will travel from morning till afternoon today and only stop for toilet and food, and during the night if we can see an inn along the road we will stop for the night, but if there's no lodging anywhere near the road then we will sleep in the carriage, is that okay with you?"

"You mean sleeping inside the carriage?" she asked.

"Yeah...it's going to be uncomfortable," he said, worrying about her comfort.

"It's okay, I'm not gonna die because of one-night uncomfortable sleeping, I will survive!" she responded jokingly.

"Good! If we continue traveling until 10:00 tonight then we will arrive at Hallowpass tomorrow afternoon before the night comes," he elaborated further.

"I'm fine sleeping in rough places for one night as long I'm with you, I really don't mind at all," she said with a smile. Her face shows the depth of her adoration towards Graven.

"Okay, nice to know that my love," he said and embraced her tightly.

The couple enjoyed the delicious presence of each other inside the moving carriage.

They both know deep inside that their time together is running out fast.
