"Don't drink the tea, my lady!" Adela shouted and grabbed the cup resulting in its content spilling into the floor.

Laura's brows furrowed in confusion. "But why?" she looked at the servant with a questioning glance, then looked at the healer.​​

The healer maintained her silence letting Adela do the talking.

Adela dropped on the floor on bended knees. "I'm so sorry, my lady. Please forgive me, the tea that you are about to drink is poisonous, it will kill the fetus inside your womb!" she said, her eyes swarmed with tears.

Laura's eyes widened in shock. She looked at the old woman who is avoiding her gaze. "Grandma, is it true that the tea is poisoned? That it's meant to kill my baby inside my tummy?" she asked, her chest felt heavy due to horror.

Grandma kneels in front of Laura, looking at her with pain in her eyes. "Yes, it's true. Lord Luke ordered me to make the poison brew and serve it to you for one week to abort the baby in your tummy. Adela and I don't want to do it, but he told Adela that he will fire her from her job if the brew is not made. So, I have to help her. I'm sorry, my lady, we have no other choice but to follow the lord's order," she said sadly.

Laura's eyes welled. She stared at the poisonous brew spilled on the floor disgustedly. Damn! She was so close to drinking the poison!

Grandma sat on the chair looking at the lady. "Who exactly are you, my lady?" she asked curiously.

Laura sighed. "I'm a married woman. My husband is Luke's twin brother and the baby is our child. Luke was my ex-boyfriend, he got jealous that I married his brother instead of him so he abducted me and imprisoned me here in his house. That is the whole truth!" she said sadly.

Grandma and Adela looked at each other pitying the lady.

"I'm so sorry, my lady!" Adela repeated her apologies.

"I'm deeply sorry too, my lady," the healer said.

Laura took a deep breath. "It's okay, you two can leave my room now," she said calmly. She looked at Adela. "Please, tell your lord that I want to talk to him!" she said.

"Yes, lady!" Adela said.

The women left the room.

Laura was seething in anger inside the room. How dare Luke planned to kill his blood relative? He's worst than the animals!

Although she was furious, she's also aware that she's under Luke's power and he can do anything he wants to do with her. He can harm her baby inside her womb anytime he wanted to, the only thing she can do right now is protecting her baby's life at all costs, even if she will resort to swallowing her pride and kissing his feet.

She squeezed her eyes shut, gathering strength to swallow her pride. When it comes to her baby, she will do anything even if it's against her will!

The door opened and Luke entered, he closed the door behind him.

Laura cleared her throat and caresses her tummy lovingly. "I want to negotiate with you. Stop planning about killing my baby in my tummy. Allow me to give birth in peace, then give the baby to Graven and you can have me all by yourself, I'm yours!" she offered.

Laura's brows furrowed in confusion, she stepped back because he was closing in and invading her space. "W-what do you mean?"

"I want to know how serious you are with your offer. Prove it!" he challenged her.

Laura's eyes widened. 'Y-you mean-?"

"Kiss my lips!" he ordered.

Laura's face fell in a sad grimace.

Luke saw the expression of disgust on her face. "What-? Did you change your mind already? You can't bear to kiss me? If you can't, then no deal! I will punish Adela and the healer severely for betraying me and telling you the truth!" he said in a dark tone.

Laura's face paled instantly. "No! you can't do that!" she shouted.

"Why not? They cross my bottom line! They deserve to be punished!" he insisted.

"Please no! I begged you, don't hurt them!" Laura pleaded on behalf of the two women.

Luke grinned. "Alright, let see if you can convince me with your kiss!" he demanded.

Laura shut her eyes for a few minutes and when she opened them she went to Luke's side and kissed his lips.

Luke claimed Laura's lips hungrily and they engaged in a lip-locked for a few minutes.

Laura has to give her all just to convince him that she is serious with her offer, she even went far imagining that she was kissing her husband, not Luke. So her kiss came out passionate and genuine.

Luke was impressed with her performance after they finished kissing. "Wow! You're indeed serious with your offer, eh? I'm more than impressed!" he said happily. He winked at her naughtily. "Why don't we seal our deal in the bed?" he suggested.

Laura's eyes widened in alarm. "I told you... only after I delivered my baby safely, my body is yours!" she reminded him.

Luke's mouth twitched in displeasure. "I can't wait for a long nine months! I want to taste you now!" he declared.
