The following evening.
Rebecca just finished eating her dinner that Anastasia brought to her room. She put the dirty dishes back on the food tray.
She walked towards the window and stared at the horizon. A pleasant smile broke on her lips. She's looking forward to seeing Graven, Laura, Horace, Calder, Luke and the others again!
She's very excited to see Grandma Menedelia again!
She can't wait to go back to her old life surrounded by her friends!
She already made her decision. She will deceive Corbin! Before she will go back to her old life, she will kill the vampire couple first!
She won't be able to live in peace if she can't take her revenge! Aside from that, she's also doing it to prevent the vampire couple from finding Laura. She's hitting two birds with one stone with her decision.
Last night, she sleeps late because she was going back and forth on her decision. Part of her wants to forget her revenge because of Corbin but another part of her wants to take revenge... and today when she wakes up in the morning she finally made a decision to lie to Corbin and proceed with her plan of revenge.
Now that she already made her decision, there's no turning back!
Suddenly the door opened.
Anastasia entered the room, she smiled at Rebecca. "Did you enjoy your dinner, Miss Rebecca?" she asked.
Rebeca nods her head. "Yes... thank you, Anastasia, for the delicious dinner. And thank you also for taking good care of me," she said. She expressed her thanks to her now because she might not be able to see her again.
Anastasia smiled and took the tray. "Don't mention it. I'll take my leave now..." she said.
"Wait... the lord has not arrived yet?" she asked.
"Not yet," Anastasia replied. "Anything else?"
"Nothing... you may go now," she replied.
Anastasia exited the door.
Rebecca released a deep sigh. She's getting nervous and excited as well.
One hour later.
The door opened and Ebony entered the room.
Rebecca looked at the healer and smiled brightly at her. She went to her side and hugged her. "Ebony, thank you so much for your hard work and effort in restoring my skin and my hair to their original state. I don't know what to do with my life if you haven't saved me," she said, teary-eyed.
Ebony rubbed Rebecca's back. "It's my pleasure saving you my dear," she said. "I only have one thing to tell you... if you already decided to leave then don't come back... and lastly... don't plan on seeking revenge on Corbin's parents, I can assure you... it won't end well. My advice is for your well-being, I hope you'll listen to me," she said.
Rebecca sighed. Both Ebony ad Corbin are saying the same thing, prohibiting her from taking revenge. If they are the ones on her shoes... if they only feel how painful it is when the flames engulfed her whole body... they will think of revenge every minute every hour....sadly they don't know how it feels. It's useless to explain to them her emotion and her reasoning. "Okay, I hear you, Ebony. I'll listen to your advice. Don't worry...I won't take revenge. I will go home and forget about this place," she said.
"Good! You do that! Don't waste this golden opportunity that Corbin has given you," Ebony said.
"I won't..." Rebecca replied.
"I guess this will be the last time we will see each other," Ebony said.
"Yeah... "
"Good luck then. Take care of yourself wherever you will go," Ebony said. "I'll take my leave now," she said and left the room.
Rebecca sighed and looked around... this room became her home for more than a month. She will leave this place and never come back again!
Suddenly the door opened and the person that she's been waiting for finally arrived! Her face lighted up. "I've been waiting for you!" she said.
Corbin smiled. "Waiting for me, eh? Don't tell me you miss me already?" he teased her. "Are you excited to go home?" he asked.
"Yessssss!" she replied excitedly.
"Are you ready to get rid of the necklace?"
"Yes!"
"So what is your decision?" he asked.
Rebecca took a deep breath. "I'm going home and never return here!" she said.
"Good! How about my parents... are you still planning on taking revenge on them?" he asked.
Rebecca shook her head. "No! I'll just go home. I missed my friends so much!" she said.
Corbin smiled. "Good girl!"
Rebecca went to Corbin's side and hugged him for a few seconds. "Thank you so much for saving my life. I owe you one," she said, feeling grateful for his help.
Corbin absentmindedly planted a kiss on her forehead. "Good luck and take care of yourself!" he said and embraced her.
They stayed that way for a few seconds, both aware of the delicious warmth spreading on their bodies just by the mere contact of their skin.
Rebecca disengaged herself from his embrace.
Corbin observed her face for a few minutes without saying anything.
Rebecca can feel the intensity of his gaze as if he was reading her soul. She shifted on her feet due to uneasiness, she fixed her eyes on the floor, trying to mask her emotion and her plan.
Corbin smiled. "Ready?" he asked again.
"Yes!" she replied.
"Sat on the bed, I'm going to remove the necklace from your neck," he ordered.
Rebecca obeyed and sat on the edge of the bed.
Corbin went to her side. "Closed your eyes," he commanded.
Rebecca shut her eyes.
Corbin holds the golden necklace with his two hands and chanted a spell that lasted for a few minutes.
Finally... he's done.
