Since there's nothing to do inside her bedroom and she doesn't want to sleep early, she left her bedroom going to her sister's room. She needs to ask her a lot of questions.
She found her sister inside the room, busy arranging her things in the bag used for traveling. "Need help?" she offered.
"It's okay, sis. I can manage," Sofia replied while putting the folded clothes inside the bag.
"I want to talk about those days when you were taken by the vampires. Where did they take you?" Laura asked.
"In some faraway place, sister. When they take me away from here, they put me to sleep all the time, and then when we arrived at the place...it's already dark again. They brought me to the house of a human couple with two children. The vampire left after depositing me in the couple's doorsteps. The couple was kind to me. They told me that they were paid to take care of me. As long they don't ask too many questions, the vampire leaves them alone and paid them in advance for my ten days board and lodging," Sofia explained.
Laura was glad that her sister was taken to a human couple and not imprisoned in some dungeon. "I was afraid that the vampires were already harvesting your blood day and night," she said.
Sofia shook her head. "I was afraid too...but nothing of that kind happened to me. The couple's house was situated beside a lake, surrounded by mountains. I told the couple that I was being kidnapped by the vampires. I asked for their help, but they refused to help me because they're afraid of the vampires. They were told that if I disappear from their house, they will kill the entire family. I was planning to escape, but I took pity on the children, so I changed my mind and discarded my plan of escaping..."
"Continue, sister..." Laura encouraged her.
"One night, while everyone was already sleeping. I opened the window of my room and saw a vampire hovering above the house. That's how I know that I will never be able to escape even if I wanted to. The couple told me that to reach the nearest town it requires six hours of continuous travel. They won't even tell me the name of the town. As I lay inside the room, I was thinking about what lay ahead of me. Every night I was crying, afraid that I will never be able to come home," Sofia broke into tears after she recalled her terrifying ordeal.
Laura hugged her sister, comforting her. "It's alright...you're here now. You're safe with us now..." she said. She was interrogating her sister, hoping that she can tell her where the vampire is residing, what his house looks like and where it was located? It turns out her sister has nothing to tell her.
Sofia looked at her sister. "Your vampire husband will come to fetch you anytime, sis. You can't blame, father. He only wants to take you away before the vampire comes to get you. I guess this is for the best. You no longer have to be married to a bloodsucker. The best time to flee is tomorrow..." she said.
Laura sighed. "I think this is not a good idea. But there's nothing I can do about it. Our father still insisted that I flee. I'm afraid of the vampire's fury. I am afraid of the consequence of our actions. I have this nagging feeling that no matter where I go, that vampire can still find me!" she said worriedly.
Sofia took a deep breath. "But father said that after you married another guy, the vampire will lose interest in you. Let's hope that he is right..."
Laura shook her head. "I highly doubted that. But anyway, let's stop talking about the vampires. I will sleep here in your room tonight, is that okay with you?" she said. She doesn't want to sleep in her room anymore. After Luke's doppelganger invaded her bedroom, she's afraid to sleep in her bedroom. She's terrified of what he's capable of doing to her while she was sleeping in her bed.
She can't even tell her parents and her sister about that entity residing in the mirror. She doesn't want to alarm them. Their lives are chaotic already. She will keep that mysterious guy's existence a secret from her family.
"Okay, sister. Let's sleep here in my room tonight," Sofia responded with a smile.
She will just go back to her bedroom to get her pajama and brush her teeth then left. "I'll brush my teeth in my bedroom first, then I'll come back here," Laura said.
"Okay, go ahead, sister. When you come back, I'm already done packing my things," Sofia said.
Laura left her sister's bedroom and walked towards her room. She pushed the door open, went inside, and took her pajama from the cabinet. She went inside the bathroom to clean herself, brush her teeth, and changed into her pajamas.
