That evening after the feast, Nathan was getting restless inside his room. He knows that he won't be able to sleep well tonight because he will be thinking about their impending escape tomorrow.

Since he can't sleep, he might as well go to the basement for a swim until his mind and body get tired, and then finally he can sleep soundly... or never sleep at all and just wait for the morning to come.

He left the room holding a towel in his hand and went to the basement.

He was shocked 'cos when he opened the door, Corbin and his father were already swimming in the pool.

"Son, join us!" Zalvo said.

"Yes, Father!" Nathan responded with a smile. He discarded his clothes and dived into the water.

"We no longer informed you to join us, we thought you're already sleeping in your room," Corbin said.

"It's okay, brother. I can't sleep because I have eaten so much food tonight. So, I think swimming here before sleeping is best for me," Nathan replied.

"Son, you should drain the water tonight after we finished swimming here or you can instruct the maids, it looks a bit muddy already," Zalvo observed.

"Yes, Father. I will drain the pool after we finished swimming tonight," Nathan replied.

Corbin looked at his father. "Maybe it's about time we will make a big pool at the back of the house, near the garden. What do you think of my suggestion, Father?"

"That's a good suggestion. Just do it! I already approve it!" Zalvo responded with a nod of his head.

"Wow, a big pool outside the house! That would be amazing!" Nathan said excitedly.

"Absolutely!" Corbin beamed.

After a while, Nathan's spirit sank.

"Why are you sad all of a sudden, son?" Zalvo inquired after noticing the gloomy expression on his son's face.

"Sad to say that I can't go swimming in the outdoor pool while the sun is out," Nathan answered.

Corbin smiled. "You can still go swimming during rainy days, early morning when the sun is not out yet in the horizon and during evening," he suggested.

Nathan smiled. "Thanks for your suggestion, bro! I'm no longer sad. I can't wait to see the outdoor pool's completion soon! I'm sure it's gonna be big and wide!" he enthused.

"Sure! We will make it the size of a normal basketball court since we still have a large unused area in the backyard," Corbin spoke. "We will design the pool together! How about we start designing it tomorrow!" he said in a voice filled with enthusiasm.

"Okay, I'm looking forward in designing the pool with you, brother!" Nathan responded merrily.

The men's discussions were centered more on the construction of the new outdoor pool while they continue frolicking in the water.

After a while, their conversation progressed to Sylvia's current condition.

...

Meanwhile, at the Windless Mountain.

Veronica can't sleep as well. She was tossing back and forth in the bed. She's getting anxious about what's going to happen tomorrow. Would the rescue operation that she and Luke had planned - going to be a failure or a great success? Only time can tell.

She released a deep sigh. She hopes she won't fail with her mission tomorrow because three lives are depending on her.

She shouldn't fail!

She can only succeed!

She shut her eyes again to sleep.

Two hours later, she finally drifted into a deep slumber.

...

Back at the vampire couple's manor.

The men finally finished their swimming session in the pool.

Zalvo looked at Nathan. "Son, your brother and I will retire to our rooms upstairs. Go to sleep now. You can drain the pool tomorrow or just instruct the servants to do it..."

"Got it. Good night, Father, brother. Sweet dreams!" Nathan said.

"Night night, bro!" Corbin replied.

"Sleep well, son," Zalvo said affectionately.

The men left and Nathan remained in the basement to drain the water. After he's done with his task, he went back to his room, changed into dry clothing, and lie down in the bed.

He knows that with such an important task ahead, he will never be able to sleep, so, he just stared at the ceiling and imagined how their escape will play out early in the morning.

Hours went by.

Upstairs, on the second floor, Zalvo and Corbin were already sleeping soundly in their bed.

Meanwhile...

In the secret hallway, underground.

Terros was still wide awake, tossing on the bed, getting restless as minutes goes by. He knows that he can never go to sleep with such an important event coming up... so he decided not to sleep at all.

In Graven's room, his body is motionless but his soul is very much awake... waiting for the rescue to happen. It's frustrating that he can't do anything in his helpless state to speed up the process. The only thing he can do is wait in a torturous way, always hoping... dependent on the mercy of others.

Back at the Windless Mountain.

Veronica was already sleeping soundly in the bed.

The clock is ticking.

The final hour is coming...

Outside... the dawn is breaking on the horizon.

Half an hour before 5:00 in the morning, Elva stirred in her sleep and opened her eyes wide. Her internal clock awakened her. She got up from the bed, went to the bathroom, and splashed water on her face.

She left the room, went to the kitchen, and make two cups of hot tea. She brought the drinks inside Veronica's room.

During that time, Veronica was already wide awake and got up from the bed.

Elva placed the tray on the table and looked at her companion. "You're already awake, drink some hot tea first to warm your tummy before leaving," she said.

"Thank you," Veronica replied, she went to the table and picked up the cup of hot tea, and began sipping it.

Five minutes later, the women finished drinking their hot drinks.

Elva looked at Veronica. "The plan that we envisioned in our mind is flawless, but once you're already in the enemies territory, the situation might turn out different than what we have already anticipated. As long the enemy doesn't have any idea about the rescue mission that is going to unfold in their territory then you will not face any problem during your mission. Just stay alert and focus your mind to do the one thing that you come there for... and that is to rescue three lives..." she said calmly.

Veronica nodded her head. "I got it!" she replied and entered the bathroom. "I need a five minute shower to wake up my foggy brain," she said sheepishly and shut the door behind her.

Elva put the empty cups in the tray, exited the room, and went to the kitchen, then returned to Veronica's room.

A few minutes later.

Veronica exited the bathroom and went to bed, she looked at Elva. "I'm ready to go!" she said excitedly and at the same time feeling a bit apprehensive.

Elva smiled and went to her side. She opened her palm and the medallion appeared in her hand, she put it on Veronica's neck. "Used all the power that the medallion can offer. Make no mistake as possible. If you follow my plan from A to Z, you won't be facing any problem at all," she said.

Veronica took a deep breath. "Okay, I got it! I'm ready!" she said and lie on the bed.

"Good luck!" Elva said, holding her breath for a few seconds as she watched Veronica shutting her eyes, feeling a little bit apprehensive inside. She doesn't like to entertain the idea that if Veronica was caught in the enemy's territory the second time around, there's no guessing what the enemy is going to do to her.

She took a deep breath and went to the table, she waved her hand and the magical crystal ball appeared on the surface, she lowered herself on the chair and stared at the magical object... waiting.

Meanwhile...

Nathan was already in the basement, sitting at the top of the staircase, waiting for Veronica to arrive. He was feeling anxious as minutes went by...

When Veronica arrived at the basement, she saw Nathan sitting at the top of the stairs. She went to his side and whispered in his ear. "I'm here in my invisible form," she said.

Nathan was startled upon hearing Veronica's voice but saw no one near him, but he recovered quickly. He smiled and said, "Much better this way, they can't see you with me. You can move freely, undetected by anyone. Follow me wherever I go," he said.

"Wait... do you plan to bring your current body with you? Or you will go with me in your soul form because the deity give me a vase that your soul can hide into during the escape process," Veronica offered.

Nathan smiled. "The deity is awesome! I will definitely use the vase!"

"Alright, let's get going!" Veronica said excitedly.

Nathan rose to his feet and grabbed the doorknob, opening the door...

He was shocked to see who are standing in the doorway.

Veronica froze.

Nathan smiled nervously. "Father, brother... good morning! Why are you awake too early?" he asked in a shaky voice.

"We come into your room and found it empty. And we decided to come here, and you're here early in the morning. You're getting obsessed with the pool, son!" Zalvo commented in amusement.

Nathan grinned and scratched his head. "Yeah, my fascination with water is the culprit," he answered.

Zalvo smiled and looked at his son affectionately, his mind went back to the old times. "I still remember, when you're still a young kid, you love swimming in the lake all day long and it become your favorite hobby. But when you die, your mother turned that lake into a crocodile farm," he narrated in amusement.

Nathan smiled brightly.

Corbin patted his brother's shoulder. "Alright, go back to your room and sleep. You will join us in touring the facility after breakfast," he said.

"Okay, brother," Nathan replied.

Zalvo and Corbin left the basement and went their way.

Nathan was rooted on the spot, breathing deeply. He felt enormous relief as he watched his brother and father vanish from his sight. Good thing they didn't notice the presence of the invisible Veronica behind him.

A few minutes later.

Veronica whispered in his ear. "What we're going to do next?" she asked. Earlier, the sight of Nathan's father and brother in the doorway rattled her feathers a bit. But she was confident that nothing bad will happen to her because they can't see her in her invisible form. Worse come to worst, she has no choice but to use the full potential of the powerful medallion hanging in her neck.

"Follow me," Nathan replied calmly and walked towards the secret room that will lead them to the underground facility.
