At the school, where Leon, Ange and the others, and Marie were no longer in sight, the five idiots were sitting around a table with serious expressions on their faces.
Time is a lunch break.
After finishing lunch at the student cafeteria, the five of them are still discussing the issue face to face.
Julius mutters with a troubled look on his face.
“It’s been a few days since Marie skipped school.”
Jilk put his hand on his chest and looked up at the ceiling.
“The days without seeing Marie-san are becoming much more faded. Even though it’s only for a few days, it feels much longer.”
Greg’s muscles were pumped up, expressing how much he missed seeing Marie.
“Kuh! I wanted Marie to see my backside after I retrained it!”
Chris was quietly listening to everyone with his arms crossed, but he’d taken off his school uniform jacket and was wearing his happi coat.
“She said she was headed to the dungeon, but why didn’t she call out to us?”
Brad feeds his pets, Rose and Marie, a dove and a rabbit.
Fuuh, letting out a sigh that sounded like an act.
“I wish she had at least called out to us. Things are getting a little dangerous these days, and I wanted to be the one to protect Marie for her safety.”
The five people looked sad not to see Marie, but at the same time, they were concerned about Leon and the others.
Julius is angry.
Actually, he feels like yelling, but he can’t take his anger out on the other party in their absence.
At the same time, he understood that he was in no position to be angry.
This is why they have complicated expressions.
“Speaking of problems, Leon is the same. I thought he broke off his engagement to Angelica and the others, but I hear he’s on his way somewhere else.”
Jilk shrugs his shoulders and condemns Leon’s actions.
“To break off the engagement for no reason and make a woman cry, Leon-kun, what a horrible person he is.”
Jilk’s words were right, but the four people present could not accept them.
Greg and Chris are talking to each other in a hushed whisper.
“How can this guy blame Leon?”
“I am almost envious that he has such a thick skin. ——I don’t think I would ever try to learn from him.”
Jilk pretended to be unaware of their conversation.
Brad, in dismay, also talks about Ange and others.
“But what really happens? They haven’t come to the school, and Marie doesn’t seem to know what’s going on. We can’t even prepare an airship to go out looking for them, so we can’t make any moves.”
Without Leon, they cannot arrange even a single airship.
If they forced their way, they would be able to prepare it, but it was unclear where Marie was in the first place.
Julius summarizes the conversation.
“——I have heard that Marie rented the airship from Leon’s big brother. I hear he is still staying in the royal capital, so how about we go talk to him after school?”
The four nodded that it was a good idea, but then a student rushed into the cafeteria.
Julius and his group sensed the danger in the expressions of the students, who were pale and out of breath.
When everyone turned their gaze to the entrance, the students who rushed in shouted.
“T-The Empire has declared war!”
The information brought to the cafeteria causes the students to make a fuss.
Julius makes a troubled expression.
“——The rumors were true. Is the reason Leon hasn’t shown his face for a while related to the Empire?”
Jilk shakes his head.
“It’s very likely, but there’s no way to know for sure right now. Instead, let’s go to Marie’s place immediately to rescue her. We should skip this afternoon’s class and head straight for the Roseblade family mansion.”
The five of them got up from their seats and went out into the hallway, and at that moment Marie returned.
Her eyes were tear-stained and her hair was shaggy.
Seeing Marie, who was not with Kara and was walking with a sluggish step, the five of them jumped out.
“What happened, Marie!”
Marie raises her head and looks at Julius’ face and says.
“——Please. Please help my big brother.”
“Eh? Marie’s big brother?”
The five looked at each other in bewilderment at Marie’s tearful wish.
