Part 7
The Baltfault family mansion.

The Zola family, who do not appear often, came to complain about Barkas that day.

Little Finley saw Barkas and Luce being yelled at in the living room through a gap in the room door.

"What do you mean, you'll send me less money !? That is a breach of contract. It is absolutely impossible. The nobles of the field cannot fulfill a promise!?”

The reason Zola had come here was because the money sent by the family was too little.

However, there was a reason for this.

Barkas looked sorry.

"I-I'm sorry, Zola. We do what we can, but this year we had a disaster and we just don't have enough money.”

The disaster required a lot of labor and budget for reconstruction, and the crops did not grow well.

It was not a bad harvest, but it was worse than usual.

Therefore, all the items in the mansion that could be sold were sold and somehow the money was gathered and sent.

Finley knew that Luce had sold all of her clothes and some ornaments that she had.

The house was running out of nothing and they had little to eat.

However, Zola still did not forgive that.

-So what? What does it have to do with me that they are suffering? If you don't send me the money As you promised, I'll think of something for you to deliver. Should I take this story to the palace?

Perhaps Barkas thought it would be a bad idea for the royal palace to find out about this, so he bowed to Zola.

"P-Please forgive me, don't do that!"

The royal palace gave preferential treatment to women like Zola over a feudal lord, and in judging this type of story, the feudal lord will be at fault and will be assessed an additional fine.

Barkas had no choice but to apologize that he was sometimes being deprived of his territory.

"Then you better do your best to get the money. Heavens, you are really useless for making people go to the trouble to come here.”

Zola then took her usual frustration out on them.

Finley couldn't bear to see his parents like that anymore and left the room.

As she walked down the hall, she saw Ludward and Merce, who were different from themselves and they were dressed in expensive clothes.

When they noticed Finley, Merce laughed.

"What clothes are in such bad condition. I really hate country kids.”

Ludward looked at Finley and shrugged.

-I agree. How can you live in the middle of nowhere?

The one who was taking care of them was an elf, who was the exclusive servant of Zola.

"Mademoiselle, sir, I have sweets brought from the royal capital in this room."

When Finley's stomach rumbled at the mention of the sweets, the elf covered his mouth with and  shook his hand and laughed condescendingly.

"Unfortunately I don't have one for you."

Saying that, the servant led the two of them into the room.

Merce laughed unpleasantly when she saw Finley clutching her stomach.

"Too bad ~ bWhen Ludward heard sweets, he was not very happy.”

"Anyway, aren't they the sweets you always eat? I am tired of them.”

That was terribly upsetting for Finley.

Why does Zola's family even make cakes for their children when they have trouble eating?

Finley, enduring hunger, became enraged at Zola's family.
