Tokyo Ravens - Volume SS1 - Chapter 1

Part 1 
It was an ‘abnormality’, and also a ‘triumph’. 
A young girl silently stared at a piece of iron under a dim light for a long time. 
An air-conditioner set to maximum chilled the spacious room, and cold air was inhaled into her body’s circulation creating an illusion like the feeling as if the iron in front of her was merging into her body. 
At this time, 
“This is really scary……” 
A voice like a little boy came from near her feet. After the girl heard, she twisted her lips in a sort of despise, and deliberately snorted. 
“Come on, it’s just an ordinary iron bar.” 
“But.” 
“How?” 
“This is a tool for murder.” 
Even though her voice sounded very young, the tone in which she stated her ideas seemed mature. The girl tightly pursed her lips in one second, then immediately snorted again, to reinvigorate her mind. 
But, 
“……It’s already something that happened a long time ago.” 
Her response sounded surly. 

“Hey, do you really want to do this?” 
“Of course, why else do you think I intentionally obtained this damnable qualification.” 
“……I don’t think that is going to work.” 
“What? Are you looking down at me? Who do you think I am?” 
This girl stuck out her chest, boasting of herself with nonsense. 
“I live for this purpose now, gods are watching me.” 
“For an Onmyouji to speak of gods, they are beyond redemption.” 
“What are you saying? That the eight million gods don’t exist.” 
“That, it’s just a hypothesis from ‘that person’s’ research.” 
The little boy’s words left the girl speechless, she frowned unhappily and quietly mumbled a word to herself, “smartass”. 
“Suzuka.” 
The little boy continued speaking. 
“You survived up till now simply due to luck. But, can that be a sufficient reason to continue to live?” 
The girl didn’t have an answer. To her, it wasn’t enough. 
She impatiently clicked her tongue and kicked the cage at her feet. 
“Meow!”, came a cry of protest.
