Afterword

Thanks again. This is Dachima Inaka.

I’ve been blessed enough to get to volume three! This is entirely thanks to all of you. I want to extend my gratitude, and I hope you’ll continue to support me for a long time to come.

This is a mom-centric series, and once again, there are lots of moms in it—sometimes so many moms I don’t know how people will handle it…

But there is one thing I am clear on: This series is not intended to turn mothers into a laughingstock.

This series is (intended to be) a comedy, and part of the humor comes from exaggerated depictions of mom-like behavior. But at no point is it ever intended to mock the idea of mothers.

My hope is that the mothers depicted in this work will speak to your memories and experiences, remind you of that one-of-a-kind agony, and bring out a warm smile at the same time. That’s the hope I have while writing this. There is always a danger I’ll just dig up painful memories, but I hope you’ll continue taking the bad with the good.

There are a few people I need to thank.

Iida Pochi. My editor, K. Everyone involved with publication and sales. Once again, I am grateful for all your help.

Also, Ai Kayano, who lent her voice to the marketing campaign, and the game developer Urufu, who created the Mom RPG. I feel I must mention you both, as I am so incredibly grateful. Thank you for all your hard work.

And finally, in place of my customary mom story is actually a message for my dad, since this volume is out in August.

Happy birthday! You were born, thus so was I, thus so was this book. You have my eternal gratitude.

Early summer 2017, Dachima Inaka
