Thank you all. This is Inaka.
With your help, we’ve reached volume seven. This is entirely the product of your constant support. I can’t thank you enough.
This volume put the spotlight on the last person you’d expect.
While I’m excited that the time has come, part of me wonders if it isn’t a mistake. Although if this were any other series, it would have happened long ago.
The indomitable mother, the children doing their best, new enemies—I hope you enjoyed the story on this uninhabited island.
I received immense help along the way to publication from Iida Pochi., my editor, K, and everyone in editing, publishing, and sales. My heartfelt thanks to all of you.
The manga adaptation by Meicha is being steadily updated. As the original creator, I hope you support the web and print editions! Thank you so much.
Now.
This is a little embarrassing, but I’d like to take this moment to announce something.
They’ve decided to make an anime of Do You Love Your Mom and Her Two-Hit Multi-Target Attacks?!
This was announced at the 2018 Fantasia Bunko Appreciation Festival, which I attended to to pay my respects to all the hardworking producers.
“They’re really doing it…”
“They are. We wouldn’t go to all this trouble for a prank, would we? (lol)”
Apparently it’s real.
Part of me still doesn’t believe it. (I’m as wary as a wild thing.)
Or perhaps this is just a dream. You can’t rule it out! It seems far more likely.
I can’t help it. I was born this way.
I spent too long working part-time jobs and trying to make it as a writer, so the fact that I’ve won this prize and the prize-winning work is getting animated…I feel like my life has become the plot of a light novel.
At least the dreams I’m having are good ones.
If I may digress: My editor says there are no age limits for light novel authors.
To everyone in my generation who has witnessed the dawn of the light novel boom till the present day: The path lies ever open before you.
As far as anime information goes:
Production is hard at work, and I have a mountain of information I’d love to yell from the hilltops, but there are rules about these things, so I’m limited to what has been officially announced.
I’d love to thank everyone involve with the anime production by name, but like I said above, I can only name people listed on the official site. I wish it were otherwise.

In the role of Mamako Oosuki: Ai Kayano; Masato Oosuki: Haruki Ishiya.
Ms. Kayano has been involved in the series since the first marketing campaign, so I’m thrilled she’ll be reprising the role of Mamako.
Mr. Ishiya…you’re ostensibly the main character, but sorry—you won’t get many chances to shine. The story you told me about the end of year gift has been an inspiration, though.
I can only hope that everything will proceed smoothly and the result will be a delight.
Everyone working on the anime and everyone looking forward to seeing it, trust that my hands are together in prayer.

When I told my mother they were making an anime…
“If it’s a hit, think they’ll come interview me? I’ve got loads of photo albums from when you were a child to show them.”
Trust that my hands are once again together in prayer that this never comes to pass.
