Author, Afterword –AND YOU–

To many people, the Manager at the workplace should be the ?first working adult they would interact with other than their parents and teachers ?.
Basically, to many student part time workers, the ? Manager? is the first adult who would show an attitude of being superior to them, yet they are unable to show a rebellious attitude like with their parents or teachers, an adult who
would normally not make an effort to be close to them.
The ?Manager ? is the person in charge of a store or office, their figure while working might cause people to have thoughts of ‘Do my parents work like that when they’re in office’, ‘Would I give off that kind of feeling when I start
working’, ‘I want to be a working adult like him’ or ‘I really don’t want to become a working adult like him’.
In Wagahara’s life, there were three unforgettable ?Managers ?.
The first one was a Shop Manager of the downtown branch of a well-known Izakaya franchise.
The Shop Managers of Izakaya franchise stores are basically powerhouses who have weathered many hardships, among those people who are well-experienced in the ways of the world, there is a super capable Shop Manager who had not lost his innate cheerfulness and kindness and is clearly more outstanding than the people around him.
The Executives and part time workers had a very good impression of him, and in a store with a total of 300 seats, there were only six employees to work the eating area and the kitchen for two consecutive days. This kind of hellish experience happened when I was working under that Shop Manager.
“Let’s treat today like a sports event and do our best.”
Amazingly, just a sentence like this was enough to raise one’s motivation.
The term natural liar would probably refer to this kind of person.
The second one was the Shop Manager of a family restaurant when I was working part-time in university.
“When you look for a job in the future, do not enter the food and beverage industry.”

That was his catchphrase, and he would frequently complain about salary and welfare in front of the employees.
However, in a strange twist of fate, not only did he take his work seriously, he was popular with the customers, and the part-timers he hired would normally stay for a long time.
Because I occasionally saw him become so tired that he would nap in the changing room which was less than three tatami mats in size, it made me suspect that he actually did not hate this job at all, but either way, he was definitely
a good match? for this industry.
The fact that a person’s interests and capabilities are completely different matters, he was the first real example of
such a situation which I had seen.
The last person was a Shop Manager of an Izakaya whom I am still in contact with.
He was a former rugby player who had the hardest muscled body which I ever touched in my life, a person who did not even notice when he contracted Influenza Type A and Type B at the same time, would eat a whole sanma fish cleanly until nothing was left, exhibiting superhuman abilities in the strangest situations, as if he was using his way of life to show that the greatest asset in life was the human body.
My body is not as sturdy as his, but Wagahara and him are so compatible that Wagahara thinks that 20 years later, I would probably end up becoming like him. That is the main reason why he was included into the list of Wagahara’s top three unforgettable Managers.
This volume is a story about a group of people around a ?Shop Manager? who left a permanent impression on many people doing their best at work.
Hataraku Maou-sama! ? is on its 18th volume.
Even though it feels like we are about to enter the climax of the plot, but before the completion of the story, even the author does not know how this series will turn out.
What kind of ending would this series have?
We are discussing the topic of the ending, but the main theme of the newest volume of this long series is ?Shop Manager at my Part-time job?. Is this really alright? With regards to this, only the author and readers in the future would know!
Then, let’s meet again in the next volume!
